  1. What a find folks, It's a Heritage Audio HA73 ELITE Microphone Preamp (B-stock) from ~~~~> Sweetwater A 73 Pre That Won't Break the Bank for only $499.00 Heritage makes one of the best Neve 1073 clones Heritage Audio's value-packed ELITE series leverages the expertise gleaned from years of making acclaimed vintage-inspired equipment. For the HA73 ELITE, Heritage Audio set its target high: their own widely respected, hand-wired HA73jr and DMA73 preamps — themselves based on the most iconic vintage console preamp in history, the 1073. In Sweetwater's opinion, they have succeeded. You might ask how Heritage can offer the same world-class sound and performance at such a budget-friendly price. Through economies of scale, mostly. They don't cut corners on components (the HA73 ELITE employs genuine Carnhill input and output transformers), but they do order parts and build in quantity, using lean manufacturing and modern construction techniques, in the same Spanish factory as the rest of their line. Heritage Audio HA73 ELITE Mic Preamp Features: Fully discrete, 3-stage Class A mic preamp with 80dB of gain Industry standard Carnhill transformers hand-wound in St Ives, England Separate input and output gain controls let you drive the input for saturation without overloading the output Line input on separate XLR for adding warmth and girth to prerecorded tracks 20dB PAD on the mic input to avoid overloading the input transformer when desired LOZ switches the input impedance of the mic transformer from 1200 to 300 ohms 80Hz highpass filter; +48V phantom power; polarity reverse Ultra-high-impedance JFET-based DI input Rugged 19" 1RU format chassis External universal power supply for worldwide use What is B-stock? B-stock gear is inventory we buy directly from the manufacturer. Most typically, these items are repacks or refurbished units that are in perfect working order. If you are on a budget or don't need the shiny new penny in your arsenal, then B-stock items are a great choice that won't compromise on quality. Best of all, every B-stock item we sell also comes with Sweetwater's exclusive 2-year Warranty, so you can create with confidence.
  2. I recently had death in my family, as one of my Presonus Eureka's died. The Eureka's are single channel mic preamps with Compression and EQ built in. I've had two Eureka's for quite a while in my home studio. Well, in it's place I went and purchased a Warm Audio WA73-EQ, which is a clone of a Neve 1073 Preamp. I love the way this sounds and the impact the EQ has on the preamp is amazing. In addition, I like the tone button which changes the impedance for the mic between 300 and 1200 which gives a very sound a nice sound. This Preamp is simply beautiful.
