  6. I actually don't need anything from IK so I wasn't interested in the IK group buy, but now that the top tier was reached I am thinking in pulling the trigger just because it looks like the value for the money is a no brainer. I tried to read all the posts for the IK GB threads but it's a mess in there so I would lke to ask if someone could recomend a way to get the best value for the money in this promotion. I've read in some post that you could do something like purchasing Jampoints for something like $140 or so and then get into the $199 product tier, but I am not sure if this is yet possible or if I misread something. I have $126 Jampoints (I am not sure how could I use it) and a few products; Syntronic J-60; Amplitbe 4, 5 and CS with some modules; Sampletank CS and 3SE with some instruments; and T-RackS CS with some modules. Any suggestions?
  7. Recently, I had the privilege of doing a review for IK Multimedia’s “SampleTron 2” an awesome VSTi with all of the feel of the 60’s and 70’s under the hood. I shared the review with my audience and tagged IK Multimedia in the social posts. To my surprise they made a front page article about the review and gave Cakewalk some love in the process! Check out the link below to see their write up about it all: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=11665 Viva La Cakewalk!

  9. I have been using the iRig Keys 49 for a few months and just now published a quick review. It is a great keyboard and the 49 keys just puts it right in a sweet spot for me. Also the built in audio interface is a great plus for portability. Right now (until November 30th) IK Multimedia is including SampleTank 4 MAX with the purchase of the iRig Keys I|O 25 or 49 which is a fantastic deal if you do not already own SampleTank 4. I hope you enjoy watching?
  10. Hi there, I am using a iRig HD2 and Cakewalk (Bandlab). Initially I worked with Asio4all, but the connection dropped out frequently, even at high sample rates (same problem in the Amplitube console ) . I've then changed to the new "iRig Asio driver" and it works very well in the Amplitube console in Cubase or in Reaper (at sample rate 128), but I can't make it work in Cakewalk at all!? I only get the message "unable to open audio device". Thereby, I've set the driver mode to "Asio", the devices to "irig device in/out", and aligned the driver settings accordingly. Of course, I've closed all other programs that access the ASIO driver. Whatever I set, the Asio status in "IK Multimedia irig Device COntrol center" is ""ASIO not active". Thus, I assume that cakewalk is not accessing the driver at all. Any ideas? Thank you! Marc

  15. BACK UP YOUR IK SOUNDS DOWNLOADS. If you are buying Syntronic or Sampletank or content make sure you back up the installation files for the sounds. Then backup the backup! I lost the sounds folder for my IK stuff in a disk failure. No problem with the Sampletank 3 content as I had the files backed up. But the Syntronic content backup backups I made are lost due to a mistake configuring Acronis. I don't own the full Syntronic, just 6 of the instruments, most of which I got free/cheap on various offers. If I want to reinstall its going to cost me 71.94 Euros to buy 6 download credits. (Less jam points) . As I seldom use Syntronic I am minded not to bother. 11.99 Euros to download the lot jampoints are accepted. Still important to backup though.
  16. Well this one took a while but here it is. I have really enjoyed working with the Hammond B-3X so much so I had a hard time actually making the video 😀 I hope you enjoy watching?

  18. Introducing the T-RackS Tape Machine Collection Bring back the analog warmth and feel of reel-to-reel recording to your tracks IK Multimedia is proud to announce the T-RackS Tape Machine Collection, available now! This collection gives you the true character of analog tape, adding warmth, character and glue to your tracks like never before. The new models include the Tape Machine 440, Tape Machine 80, Tape Machine 24, and Tape Machine 99, re-creating four classic tape recording machines from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s: the Ampex® 440B, the Studer® A80, the MCI® JH24 and the Revox® PR99. Buy the Collection for a special $€/99.99* introductory price now The T-RackS Tape Machine Collection is the culmination of 2 years of research and development on real, world-class machines, each carefully restored “to spec” and modeled stage-by-stage for incredible accuracy. Using a careful mix of convolution and physical modeling, the Tape Machine Collection re-creates the complex interplay of machine, tape, and audio to capture even the smallest detail of each machine. Give your tracks that classic low-end weight, ear-pleasing high-end, saturation and glue that only tape can provide. Each Tape Machine module offers its own unique character plus 4 tape formulas, selectable tape speed, and common controls to let you easily audition the differences between the different machines and tape formulations. Inside the T-RackS Tape Collection Tape Machine 440: The Ampex 440 series dates from the late 1960’s, and delivers an unmistakably soulful color that made this professional and historic mixing and mastering machine a legend. This superb blend of art and technology has the power to turn your mixes into finished tracks. Tape Machine 80: The legendary Studer A80 Mk II, in its various revisions, is an essential part of countless influential records. Engineered and manufactured in Switzerland from 1970 to 1988, it became the de facto standard for professional high-end multi-tracking. The A80’s sonic signature is a perfect blend between transparency and subtle harmonic enhancement. Tape Machine 24: A model of the MCI JH24. First produced in 1980, the JH24 was a staple in US studios during the 1980s. This completely transformerless, high performance op-amp-based design delivers a pristine, phase coherent and remarkably true to the source audio performance. This results in a moderate and elegant polish to your music. Tape Machine 99: The Revox PR99 Mk II is a stereo professional recorder produced by Studer in the 1980s. Engineered around a hybrid design that combines the best of discrete and op-amp topologies, this model offers a very smooth frequency response, especially on bass, with almost no trace of the typical “head bump” phenomenon. A standard for broadcast and classical music, this machine was appreciated by audiophiles for its exceptional sonic quality. Both the T-RackS Tape Machine Collection and the individual a la carte processors are on sale for pre-order pricing now. Options, Pricing, and Availability The T-RackS Tape Collection bundle and individual Tape Machine Singles are available now in the IK Multimedia online store, Custom Shop and from IK authorized dealers worldwide. 20. So I have been doing some more experimenting with SampleTank 4.03 trying to narrow down what might be the source of the crashing I have been experiencing. With the introduction of the 4.03 update there is a new STREAMING tab in settings that allow you to adjust some memory and performance parameters. I tried different combinations of the settings and found my best experience happened when both were set to LARGE. So now when I try loading consecutive patches in and out (especially the large piano presets) I am no longer getting the crashes and vanishing plugin as before. Using the standalone version I put a short demonstration together to share my preliminary results. As I mention in the video I believe SampleTank 4 has so much potential and as we progress in finding the outlying performance and crash issues I think it will mature into an even more amazing instrument. Enjoy:
