  1. Here is a short, silly song about gossip the grapevine and mostly about listening. It picks up on the Sonny Boy Williamson 2 song -Don't Start Me To Talking. It offers just a wee bit of social observation. In my last song I was trying to reproduce the sound of the amps used by the old Blues and Jump Blues performers primarily in the south side of Chicago. Hopefully, I got a bit closer on this song. It is a bit rough. That is not only my lack of talent but I also was trying to replicate the sound of that era. As always, I will be grateful for any crits., comments, and suggestions. Thanks THEY ALL TALKING https://www.soundclick.com/freddyj
  2. It has been a while since I have been able to participate on the Forum. A lot has been posted -- I have a lot of catching up to do. Here is a little number about a guy dealing with his best friend who is trying to "snake" his girlfriend. Gee, has anyone experienced this -- like in high school? This song is very rough since it has been a while since I have attempted a song. My wife and I have been sharing CoVid for the past few weeks. I am going to use that as an excuse for the vocals. They are a bit rough (the high notes were hard to reach and sustain). I am planning to re-do them as soon as I get my voice back but I thought that I would request some feedback in order to correct other errors as well. Overall, I was looking for a live performance in a small venue feel - so - complete perfection isn't necessary but clean-up is. Thanks in advance! 3. Just a silly song with a bit of a message -- God loves you but the Devil does not. The guitar panned L is borrowing from some Jimmy Reed style riffs; the guitar panned R is borrowing (sort of ) from Elmore James' riffs and the lead guitar (accents and break panned C) borrow from the realm of rockabilly. Hence -- Bluesabilly. I have been trying to get better instrument separation. Hopefully, I have done a wee bit better on this one. I was going for that early Blues gritty overdriven sound on the lead. I used the Amplitude Fender 1957 amp on the classic setting. I think it came close to what I was going for. Comments, crit.'s, and suggestions will be much appreciated! Thanks! DON'T IT MAKE THE DEVIL SMILE https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandID=963481

    Democracy Blues

Here, is a song which is intended to encourage us all to get out and exercise our rights and duties as citizens of this democracy. Get on out and vote y'all. This one is primitive, striped down, and raw. It took me ages to get the sound of the lead guitar just right (I almost got it like I wanted). I was going for that gravelly. over driven sound of the early electric guitar sound of jump Blues and early electric Blues. It is raw and basic but I hope you enjoy and that it might induce a consideration to participate in our democracy. I also hope that it gets you toes to tapping. As always comment, suggestions, and crit.'s will be very much appreciated. Thanks DEMOCRACY BLUES https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481
  5. I apologize for posting another song so quickly, but it was in me and had to come out. Accepting the conclusions of medical, research, and public health experts, I am a "stay at home" guy. The problem is that I have been watching too much TV (especially news). This little number is what resulted from this affliction. It is done up in bluesabilly style and is intended to be a bit rough and raw but not too biting. As always, comments, crit.'s, suggestions, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! 6. I hope this posting finds everyone healthy adjusting to our current circumstances. Here is a silly little song that hopefully might bring a little smile. It is a follow up to the a song down on my SoundClick song list somewhere simply called "Mangrove Sally". It is indeed a silly little love song in an unusual way. It is a bit raw, rough, and raunchy intentionally (I like it like that). However, for problems that stand out annoyingly so and others that cry out to be fixed (there will probably be more that a few), I would very much appreciate your input. Thanks!! Please be smart and stay safe. MANGROVE SALLY IN THE CITY https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481
  7. Another social observation song. I'll get over this phase soon --- I hope. This one is about a social climbing lad who is upset that his dreams of financial and social success are failing. Some how I have little sympathy for my fictional character. It is done up in bluesabilly style. As always, your comments, suggestions, etc. are and will be appreciated. Thanks! I hope that all of you are doing well in this period of crisis. Listen to the physicians, healthcare workers, and other experts and temper the comments by the politico types. Take care and stay safe.
