About Me

  1. I did one of these back in 2012 ans recently updated it last year. So, here is my 2.0 version.
  2. I've been a Cakewalk user for 20+ years, and I am so excited that it continues to live on. I was on SPLat, and didn't want to make the jump until Bandlab picked up the franchise. While doing this I noticed a cool feature a fried used in Studio One to test out arrangements and easily rearrange sections in the song. I'd like to see something similar to this. I do a lot R&B/Pop music, and this would make it a lot more easier to move groups of tracks within sections around to experiment with different arrangements. They call them The Arranger and Scratchpad in Studio One. This would be an awesome and helpful feature to add. Instead of grabbing individual tracks, you can could select a bar which represented that section and grab all the tracks as a group and place them in different parts of the song (in time). Hope this finds your eyes and ears well!! I Love Cakewalk!!!
  3. Hi! Something I've wanted in CW/Sonar for a long long time is the ability to arrange and re-arrange parts of a song in an easy way by using what Reaper calls regions (not the same as regions in CW), or some kind of playlist where you can move around verse, chorus, bridge and other parts of the song witout needing to copy, cut and paste individual tracks. Studio One also have this feature, and also Cubase? Reason too I think? It is a very nifty tool when writing and arranging a songs basic structure. Some early sequncers had a pattern based way of building songs, and even if that may explain the feature I'm looking for, it is important that you can work in a linear mode at the same time. Oh! And one thing that would be great is to be able to start a song from bar 0.0.0 as a count-in section. Thanks!
  4. Track Filter for Arrange View (tags for tracks and groups of tracks). Will be great to have this option for Arrange View. But it must be done... 1. 10 shorcuts for presets for the first ten presets... (The user himself can choose the right.) 2. Toggle switch version (One shortcut for select a filter preset and return to the previous view). 3. To complement the options of this wish - paragraph 5 4. New DOCK "Tags View" or "Filter View" - between the Inspector and the Arrangement or behind the Inspector or to the Right behind the browser Or in front of the Browser. Need to think and discuss. Perhaps to make a special panel in Contol bar like Screenset View? 4. Shortcut for "Add new Filter".
  5. Big fan of Bandlab. Bandlab  exploded my creative potential, doing more things with music now, than I ever imagined.  Great community of encouraging artists, inspiring some cool music.

  6. When legacy Cakewalk went defunct, I started using Reaper as my new DAW. One of the features I really love is the ability to set a time selection from a set of markers and then create a region from the time selection. Once you have your regions defined (Intro, Verse 1, Chorus, etc) it's very easy to duplicate or rearrange entire sections. I realize that Cakewalk doesn't have the exact same functionality, but I'm wondering how other users handle that within the current program? I'd welcome your tips and tricks. I'm really trying to get back into Cakewalk due to the fact that I have so much time with it.
