About Me

  1. Recently added lyrics to this one - I'm planning out my 2024 album and this will probably be on it (later this year). The last verse I had some help from Bard - not word for word, but it did come up with the Window Panes Weep idea - One I really liked and was surprised by. I had to coax it along a little with 4 or 5 suggestions, but it basically worked as a helper tool for when the words just won't come. https://baselines.com/?p=6968 I am right here Waiting for you to come back It's been a while since you've been seen around here Every one is ve - ry concerned We hope that you haven't gone south But who could blame you if you did There's only so much drizzle that a sol can take. Come and break the spell... And melt away my shell Power up --- Power up my soul With your stunning warmth Window panes weep their dusty tears, Empty chairs hold echoes of your bright smile Conversations stutter, ice falls on the sill Aching for warmth, a tender touch.
  2. Here's a song about temptation: https://baselines.com/?p=6964
  3. Hi - just wanted to let whoever cares know that my 2023 album, 'A Second Passed' is now out on all the major music sites. I sure would appreciate any support that you could provide. Not so much looking for money, just recognition. Any follows or likes would be appreciated. Discography here: https://baselines.com/?page_id=6419 New Album on Bandcamp here: https://stevekeith1.bandcamp.com/album/a-second-passed AudioMack: https://audiomack.com/steve2k2 (followers or likes would help me here) Spotify: Thank you dear friends for your support throughout the year. Steve
  4. Possible? Maybe. https://baselines.com/?p=6835
  5. Hope it comes off in the matter intended...a juxtaposition of some people's interpretation on how to approach life in general. Not meant to be preachy, just a view into the angel and devil on your shoulders and the conversations that go on. End of Days
  6. Here's my version of the great Elton John song form back in the 70's - the best time for music in my opinion....but then I am an old fart, so there's that. https://baselines.com/?p=6790
  7. I guess it's kinda pop, a little jazz - not sure. I couldn't come up with a drum part I liked, so I left this forkable on Bandlab. https://www.bandlab.com/post/d70c0284-aca8-ed11-a8e0-000d3a3f8f45 Thanks for your time!
  8. I'm trying to get one song a month for the next LP release. This will be one of them. @kiwichrys adds her vocal magic to make me sound better. https://baselines.com/?p=6721 TIA for listening and letting me know what you think. Steve
  9. Any Twilight Zone fans out there? This original song is inspired by one of my favorite episodes. https://www.baselines.com/?p=6701 I've added a video I made for this song:
  10. Here's a Christmas song written by Fiona Lunney from down under in Australia! She sings and I play the instruments. Produced at Baselines Designs Studio. https://www.bandlab.com/post/b18a24ad-fa70-ed11-9f5e-000d3a980004
  11. With the new release of the Revolver album (with alternate versions), I finally got around to covering Eleanor Rigby - I've been wanting to do it for a while. I hope you like it and thank you for listening. https://baselines.com/?p=6672
  12. This release has the fab @kiwichrys on backing vocals, a new lead vocal track and a new mix. Accidently Like a Martyr was one of my favorite songs of the great Excitable Boy album. https://baselines.com/?p=6604
  13. People complain because I don't write love songs....for Chrissakes I'm an old guy and it would just be weird. Well, here's a love song of sorts...an old guy love song. Hope I don't embarrass myself. Wait...I'm too old to care LOLOL. https://baselines.com/?p=6593
  14. This was a tough one for me, still not sure I didn't cross the line into sentimental fluff, but oh well, here it is. https://www.baselines.com/?p=6508 Jericho Valley is in the mountains of Western Massachusetts.
  15. Here's a cover of perhaps the perfect Spring/Summer song - at least one of them. I still dig the 70s. https://baselines.com/?p=6503
  16. Here's a cover of a song from the late 70's by a Cambridge MA band called Pousette Dart band. @mojoespage from bandlab on slide guitar. https://baselines.com/?p=6495 Hope you are all having a great summer - still a bit cold here.
  17. Well, I'm apologizing because topology did the hard work here. The first 58 seconds is the inverted midi keyboard part of the song that follows. In other words, it was free, I didn't have to write it. Read here for more information and also to play the damn song. It's interesting to try to pick out the inverted vs the , um, verted. https://baselines.com/?p=6485 Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy the freebie as much as I did. Steve
  18. My Bandlab friend @mojoespage agreed to help me with the vocals. He sounds a lot like Elvis Costello. https://baselines.com/?p=6481
  19. Here's my cover of a great old classic from the summer of '66 - what a great time was had by all - who remembers the 60s? Not everything of course, just some hazy memories! https://baselines.com/?p=6475
  20. Here's a cover of a Steely Dan song from 1974. Jeff Baxter, who played the lead guitar on the original version is an amazing multifaceted person. https://baselines.com/?p=6470
  21. Here's my version of an old King Harvest hit from 1972. https://baselines.com/?p=6444 Here's a quote by Sherman Kelly, who penned the song: On a trip to St. Croix in 1969, I was the first victim of a vicious St. Croix gang who eventually murdered 8 American tourists. At that time, I suffered multiple facial fractures and wounds and was left for dead. While I was recovering, I wrote "Dancin In The Moonlight" in which I envisioned an alternate reality, the dream of a peaceful and joyful celebration of life.
  22. Here's a song I wrote on my new piano I got for Christmas, the first one! It's maybe supposed to signify the relationships you form throughout your life, the happy and sad moments and then alone again till the end. 😮 https://baselines.com/?p=6395
  23. Hello fellow production and music aficionados. Hope this brave new world is treating you as well as can be expected. I finally gathered together a bunch of the cover tunes I have done with some very talented Bandlab people, and released it on an album called Cover Story. I don't think I will be posting it to all the usual places because it'll cost me $15 a song to get the rights to release it (ridiculous). Anyway, here is the link and I hope you like it. These are some of my favorite songs over the years. https://baselines.com/?p=6387 Stay strong and keep posting your material here. You are making the world a better place. Steve
  24. Here's my version of a great old Duke Ellington Song that was redone by Steely Dan on their Pretzel Logic album. Accompanying this audio is a video of select Buster Keaton clips. Buster was a comic genius way way way ahead of his time. Both Audio and Video available here: https://baselines.com/?p=6373 Video on Youtube available here:
  25. I don't want to make light of childbirth, because I know what's involved. However, getting this album out took almost as much energy! Thank you for all the support I got on this forum, I really appreciate all of you who listen to my stuff and offer me feedback. You are the best. https://stevekeith1.bandcamp.com/album/the-instrumentalist Best wishes to all for a happy and enjoyable Christmas season (or whatever else you may celebrate). Steve
