About Me

  1. Cakewalk by BandLab has several features to speed up your workflow. Today, we will discuss the ability to group faders. This will not only save you time, but will also save you CPU usage. Instead of having several automation lanes across several tracks, you can group one set of tracks and control them all at once from one lane so long as they remain grouped. https://youtu.be/O70YGUOWZLI
  2. Included are several guides on working with AD2 in Cakewalk, as well as a few "Advanced Drum Editing" guides made by members of the CW team published during the SONAR era (Still relevant for current Cakewalk release as of mid 2021) Addictive Drums 2 (Project Temp +Track Temp +Drum Map) separate-outputs.pdf Cakewalk - Setting up a Drum Map for Addictive Drums 2 in Cakewalk.pdf
  3. Hi folks! If you want a simple trick to have latency free recording, with FX, but no special hardware - check out my video. I show you how to do it in Cakewalk by Bandlab, but this could be applied to other DAWs WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/-huBF5lrqRM
  4. By the way, Melodyne addon needs to be installed for the first part of the video to work.
  5. This video shows how I made a short Kawaii Future Bass (Intro > BuildUp > Drop) in Cakewalk by Bandlab. Also, I've only used freeware 😉
  6. Wanna speed up your workflow and boost your productivity in a flash! Try using Cakewalk by BandLab’s Screenset and Mix Recall features! Screensets and Mix Recall
  8. I’m happy to announce that Cakewalk is getting the attention it deserves from industry professionals! I encourage you to watch the video above I did with Warren Huart of Produce Like A Pro. This was a promotional venture to kick off the release of my new course in Warren’s Pro Mix Academy. (The Ultimate Cakewalk Course) If you ever have any questions feel free to email me. I also go live once a week for Live QA and Tutorials. Last but not least here is an entire playlist showing love to this DAW: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwqZ0GPSfFgbc8gLCxaYngRGVvlaf57gI If you’d like to learn more about the Cakewalk course you can find it on the Pro Mix Academy here: https://transactions.sendowl.com/stores/5349/205312

  11. Hi folks! The Matrix View in Cakewalk by Bandlab allows you to improvise a composition and record your actions! Check out my video, demystifying the Matrix! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/E8VHm2X7aPw
  12. In this tutorial, I go over what you'll need to know about using Cakewalk by Bandlab. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! One bonus tip I didn't mention in the video; you can use your computer keyboard as a MIDI controller by going to the menu bar at the top > Views > Virtual Keyboard > Computer Keyboard.
  13. Regardless of the space you’re using to mix/master your tracks in, a good reference will get you to a better end result faster! You can also learn a ton about mixing along the way! https://youtu.be/uMBkkbm7aSQ
  14. Step Recording in Cakewalk by Bandlab can be a great way to lay down tracks if you’re not keyboard savvy. Step recording is a method of recording MIDI notes one note or chord at a time. It’s a very easy and precise way to record, but can sound mechanical if used in the wrong situation. You use step recording in its typical form by choosing a step size, such as a quarter note, and then playing a note on your MIDI keyboard. Here’s some shortcuts to help: http://bit.ly/Step_Record_Shortcuts
  15. The Australian magazine, Audio-Technology, is starting a three part series about microphones. Greg Simmons looks at the influence of the microphone on the tonality of the captured sound, and delves deep into microphone technology to find out what makes them sound like they do. In Part 1 of 3 he gets some basics out of the way
  16. Hello, Edit: 23 March 2019 I decided it could be helpful to include a list of upcoming tutorial videos and their links. The video below is the first video in the playlist, but if you are interested in a specific topic, check the following list for quick navigation. If there is no link for it yet, it means I haven't uploaded it. I can take requests, but keep in mind that I run another business on top of my actual Chernobyl Studios audio work, so if I like the idea, it'll get put on the list and I'll get to it when I get to it. I have a channel on YouTube that I created many years ago for creating Cakewalk SONAR Platinum tutorials. I constantly get questions, comments, and requests on those old videos I did years ago. I'm updating all of the Cakewalk videos I did for SONAR Platinum to Cakewalk by Bandlab. There are three videos currently online, with 4 more already scheduled to come out this week. Please share this playlist with anybody who is getting started with Cakewalk by Bandlab. I am starting from the very basics and will work all the way through mixing an entire song. It will take a few weeks, but it will be worth it. 😎
  17. This is a condensed version of the previous Live Mixing Session we recently did complete with time stamps in the comment section. Mark George, the October song contest winner, submitted his song “Ghost Dance” and it came out victorious. Each month we have a new song contest! We all listen to the submissions together and I give constructive feedback on how to improve the production quality. If you’d like to get in on the fun, be sure to subscribe to the channel and hit the 🔔 so that when I make these announcements you’ll be notified. What was your key take away from today? What tip will you be applying to your next mix? Comment below and let me know.

  20. Everything went well with the first installation. At one point, cakewalk couldn't be started, so I reinstalled it. However, the next time I started it, what I saw was something like the image. I have tried reinstalling many times. However, no matter how many times I try it, it looks like the image. What should I do to solve this problem? I'm sorry for machine translation.

  25. Hello, Brand new to all this. Just downloaded Cakewalk. The tutorials I have seen so far all introduce the different sections of the app and explain what they do. I haven't a clue how to actually proceed with anything. I really need to watch someone go through, step by step from the start, and show how to add a few tracks and special effects. Just got a Akai LPK 25 keyboard to start playing with. Any links to actual videos of people making their projects would be super appreciated. I'm lost. Thank you!
