About Me

  1. Greetings friends! I trust we're all having a good new year My musical project Disconnected Souls have dropped our 2nd music video in support of our upcoming album on the 19th of January. This track is definitely one of our heavier ones but there's lots of electronics and other quirky elements to it also. As always Cakewalk is what makes it all happen ❤️ If you get chance to check it out then I hope you enjoy! Best wishes, ~Fletch~
  2. I used Cakewalk and Addictive Drums to create the drum tracks for Andy and Zomby Woof on this CD. My part is manually input, but the bass, vocals, and guitars are all live musicians recording their own parts for the songs. You can hear the tracks a bit further down on the page: https://zeroensemble.bandcamp.com/album/six-of-one
  3. A rapper named Cole the VII shared his acapella track called "Back in Time" for others to use to do what they liked with. I put his track into my DAW with a click track and started improvising with it. Twenty-four tracks later, this is the result. I think it turned out pretty well. So Cole did the acapella rap and I composed and played all of the music you hear, live (well, one track at a time). I'd love to get thoughts on the track, where you think my improvised parts work and where you think they don't and your advice on how to make a better mix. I have this track on private, so I'm not sharing this beyond with Cole and some musician friends. I did have a blast making it, but as I wrote, it's improvised and in a day or so, I may want to tweak some of the parts and it'd be valuable to hear from folks what parts they like and what they don't like. My timing isn't perfect. This isn't a heavily quantized song, in fact, a lot of my tracks feature no quantization, so some of the timing isn't perfect. If you find any of the timing is so off it bothers you, please share it and I'll redo that part. I basically kept things as they were because I had a vibe going and I thought quantizing things would destroy the feel. Thanks, Peter
  4. Penny Loafer Shoes is a song about a comical character I created who takes account of all the things he's "Got". He finds he's got charm, education, high-minded goals, people around him that care, and a passion for security. Nevertheless, life is an unpredictable roll of the dice, and sometimes you miss your ship or come up short one lucky shoe, a sock, or a glove. Be forewarned, this tune has some minor explicit lyrics, which some may think of as "unnecessary BS", and thusly they are copiously identified as such. The tune's birthday was September 24, 2014, and it is part of the FEC 2014 Collection. My lord, it's been nearly 10 years already. This is a revised version with a modified bassline, drums and vocals. Some minor adjustments to the lyrics, as well. The guitar work is the same, as I'm now way too old to play the crazy riffs contained herein. Sort of Frank Zappa-ish in style. Some will likely suggest I cut the beginning slow build, but when I tried that, it seemed too sudden, so I just left it in. You can jump forward 45 seconds to get to the meat. Wow! This one is 7:13 long, but don't let the length scare you away from this carefree and fun tune. Ingredients: SI Bass AD2 Drums. Guitar Rig 6 Pro-channel Rematrix Fender Strat with modified pickups and a maple neck Remixed and Mastered with Neutron 4 and Ozone 10. I hope this puts a smile on your face!
  5. From a mix, arrangement or really anything perspective. Very mild explicit language warning (Rap lyrics over guitar, bass, drums, synth)

  8. First time fully completing a song... Influences - Minus the Bear / Cursive / Mid 2000s emo Think I'll revisit mix after I get some more experience, but let me know what I should rework when I do! Thanks, let me know if you have a track I can check out.
  9. Hi everyone! My new cover and mix of The Dead Daisies song ''Hypnotize Yourself'' Would be great to hear your opinion.
  10. Hi guys, My eclectic musical ensemble Disconnected Souls has recently released a new track called Kintsukuroi. I'd describe this one as being a ballad fused with some heavy djenty guitar, electronics, orchestral and world influences. There are some interesting concepts and instrumentation that we explore If you get chance to listen I hope you enjoy! Comments/feedback/criticism always welcomed. Best wishes, Matthew
