  1. Hi: I'm a long time Cakewalk user. In the past I used to have a multi port MIDI interface (now obsolete) and connect all my synths there. Now I don't have that MIDI interface anymore and, as most modern synths have USB MIDI, I connect all my synths directly to the computer. The problem is that not always want to use all my synth, sometimes I just turn on a single one and Cakewalk just mess all MIDI port selection on the MIDI tracks. The MIDI data (notes, etc) is sent to the wrong synths. I have to set the MIDI port for every MIDI track every time. Even if I turn on all my synths, sometimes Cakewalk change the order of MIDI ports and again I have to set the MIDI port for every MIDI track. Same happens when sending MIDI clock to my drum machine, after opening a saved project the MIDI ports are in a different order and the MIDI clock is sent to a different port so my drum machine doesn't start. Also if I have set an instrument definition for a MIDI port, I lost that assignment... So, please make Cakewalk remember the MIDI port settings. If I have a MIDI track and the MIDI port output is set to a MIDI port named SynthX (all my MIDI ports have the name of the synth), next time I open the project that track should be assigned to the MIDI port SynthX, and if that MIDI port is not available (not connected), should be routed to a dummy MIDI port, not to other MIDI port, if I want to route that MIDI data to another MIDI port I will do it myself manually (letting Cakewalk choose a random MIDI port doesn't help). Thank you!
  2. Hello. I love Cakewalk. I am visually impaired and had no problems with the updates up to January of this year (file version 27.01.0.098). However, in the updates since April this year, the context menus of plugins and FX chains are no longer read out by the screen reader, which is very troubling. So, can we have an option to switch between the context menu specification up to this January's update and the current specification? There are very few DAWs that can be used by the visually impaired, and Cakewalk has been invaluable. Please consider this for us visually impaired people.
  3. This is a feature request. Currently, "now" scrolls across the screen, and across fixed tracks, which can then jump periodically across the screen and provide on ongoing view of the project. I would love to see a fixed "now", let's say indented 10% from the left edge of the display (or ideally by some settable parameter amount), and have the tracks scroll past "now", instead of the other way 'round. It occurs to me that this may never have been added as a feature because of the CPU it would require, but I've never seen the code. Perhaps it is more doable than I know!
  4. I use Cakewalk since Pro Audio 9 (circa 1999). I love it and its awesome mixing tools, but I feel in terms of audio editing is not the quicker DAW in the world. As you asked the users for requests... ...these are my basic ones: EASY CLIP GAIN NON-DESTRUCTIVE NORMALIZING QUICKLY ADJUSTABLE SELECTION SELECTION LENGHT INFO (I posted images based on Vegas Pro video editor, because I use it, but these are very common features in DAWs too.) Thanks Cakewalk and BandLab for asking the users👍 MarianoGF::.
