  9. So we have a new recording options. But let's think that you are recording alone. You press loop, you press record button. After that you are recording takes. When you're done you press stop button. After that you have that most recent take with a silence or guitar noises when you try to record guitar take. So you need to delete that take and make some aligment for previous takes. My requeseted feature is to delete unfinished takes and left only full completed takes in a take lane. It would save time and after that you'll record enough takes. It works in REAPER and it should be done in Cakewalk)
  10. I just updated to the latest ez drummer 2 and cakewalk updates and now when I try to record guitar or bass, the now time marker in ez drummer 2 starts moving as soon as the metronome starts and then it's all out of sync. When I just playback the song it follows the host. Only when I record a bass or guitar track it starts moving before it should be. It never used to do this. Actually when I would rewind the project to the beginning and hit record it would move forward a bit and it would throw me off so I had to start muting the drums. Any advice or way to fix this? It's super frustrating.
  11. Hi guys, I’m pretty new to the whole producing thing, but everything’s been going fine until now. I was making music whilst traveling just using my keys on the laptop as MIDI input, with my headphones plugged in only. When I got home, I plugged my audio interface in too, and now I can’t hear anything in the tracks I made. I also can’t hear live feedback when I play MIDI instruments. I’ve tried changing my input and output settings so that none of them are from my laptop & are instead from my audio interface, but nothing seems to be working. Also tried changing the driver to ASIO & just about every other option available. Can anyone help? Thanks!
  12. Hello everyone, I have a problem with MIDI recording. I'm working on a huge project (+50 audio tracks , 1hour aprox) and I want to record live some MIDI instruments. But it doesn't seem to work. You can draw it manually, but not record it live via a MIDI controller. I did it before, when the project wasn't so big and it worked. And when starting a new project, I add an instrument and everything works. So everything seems to be a problem of CPU space. But I made a copy, deleted every track except from one general mix and it didn't work. But then again, I didn't save and reboot, so I'm not sure. I'm thinking about freezing some tracks, but I'm not sure. Can I save the project with freezed tracks and unfreeze them afterwards? Thank you for your help. My gear is an i7 3rd gen processor with SSD Drive for CPU and a external 1 Tb HDD for Data. My MIDI controller is Arturia Keystep 32, and the VI I'm using is LABS by Spitfire Audio. But I changed the controller and the VI and none helps
  13. Im having some trouble configuring my Maschine MK2 into Cakewalk to do the midi stuff I want it to do. I literally have no idea what to do.
  14. I'm on Windows 10 and using Coolsoft's VirtualMidiSynth. I enabled the sound card's Stereo Mix as a recording input: And used it as an input to an Audio track: However, when I go try to record, I get this message: Am I missing something or is this simply not possible? Thanks. <Later...EDIT> I found the solution. I set the hardware device to have 192,000 Hz in shared mode:
  15. I play progressive metal and I often have tempo changes, like 6/8 3/4, 13/8, 7/8. Sometime I prefer that the metronome gives me the "1 2 3 4" before recording...but sometime the Cakewalk change the accent and put this in the 3 or 2. Is it possible change that?
  16. Running Win 10 Pro (v1803 with latest updates) on HP PC/Desktop HP ENVY 750xt, CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 quad core Memory: 8GB, Graphics Card(s): Nvidia GeForce GTX 745, Sound Card: Integrated - Realtek High Definition Audio. I have used 3 apps for music recording and midi over the years: Cakewalk by Bandlab v25.01.0.27 latest update 2/2/19, Sonar X3 Studio (x64) v20.0 (and previous versions going back to Pro Audio 9), and Cool Edit 2000 no version - very old. I haven't done any audio recordings for about a year and now Cakewalk, Sonar and Cool Edit will/can't deal with the recording side on my audio interface (but audio playback is fine). For example, Cakewalk and Sonar put up an error box when trying to enable recording which says: "Unable to open audio record device. Device may not support the current project's audio format or may be in use." Cool Edit just throws up an "External Error" message. I have done audio recordings on this PC with Sonar and Cool Edit but likely not Cakewalk. The Realtek interface is the only recording device that the 3 apps show for audio recording. The Windows system information shows 3 audio devices (besides the midi interface): Realtek High Definition Audio - on-board - This has been my sound input device; NVIDIA High Definition Audio - don't know what this is; NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM) - don't know what this is. I've tried lots of settings changes without success. Don't know where to look next. I figure that some Win10 update over the last year or so created the issue with the driver. -- Larry
  17. Hi guys! I have done a song with 6 tracks, and when I try to add more tracks to it I get them ONLY in the mixing console. I don't get them in the track window! Also, sometimes I lose visual of some of the tracks and the track window becomes un-scrollable. In this example I lost tracks 1-3 and 6. When I save the file and get back to it all is fine and my new added tracks are there where they should be in the first place. How strange is that?! Have you experienced the same, do I have some settings wrong, or what is the problem here? I have the latest Cakewalk version installed.
  18. I have an Alesis Q49 MIDI keyboard. My computer (Windows 10) is able to recognize the device just fine. The keyboard driver is up to date, as I checked the device manager. In Cakewalk under Preferences > MIDI > Devices, the Q49 is listed there. However, I can't check the checkbox next to Q49 and instead, I get an error saying that the Q49 "doesn't have enough memory available" (Screenshot 1). I also get two other errors which I'm not sure are related or not; one says "Silent buses detected" and that silent bus is "master" (Screenshot 2). The other error I get before Cakewalk opens is "There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system" (Screenshot 3) which I don't understand. I also have a microphone plugged into my computer (which Windows detects), and (not sure if this makes any difference) in Cakewalk audio recording preferences, I have the driver mode set to ASIO. This is basically where I'm stuck with setting up the keyboard. Any help will be much appreciated, thank you. - India
