About Me

  1. Cannot manage to record a track from a digital piano connected to Cakewalk. I created a TTS instrument track that’s working normally: i.e. I can input notes to it manually (e.g. in Piano Roll), and these notes are heard if I play back the track. A digital piano is connected as the input for the track, and it also seems to work: if I press any keys on the physical piano keyboard, these keys become highlighted in Piano Roll, and the meters it the track’s header display the level (see the attached screenshot). The track is aimed for recording, and I double-checked all relevant settings. After I press Record and start playing, however, the metronome is clicking, and the playhead is moving forward, but no music is being actually recorded. In addition, the Record button in the toolbar doesn’t turn red. What am I doing wrong?

  3. I'm suggesting a feature add that allows the looped recording to be limited to "x" number of times thru, and then stop or continue playing. I realize one can simply let the recording continue, and hit the stop button, then delete the lanes that I do not need. The difference is if I'm several yards away from the PC and have the loop recording start, then I have remove headphones, walk back to PC and stop the recording. I'm thinking it would be very convenient to say that after 5 or however many takes I wanna try for, the recording simply stops, instead of creating a new lane (or more, depending on how short the loop is and how far away I'm from the PC) Thanks, kwr

  11. Hi! When a recording is done, lets say from bar 1-12. I want to stay at bar 12, not jump back to bar 1. Is that possible to change somehow? Thank you!
  12. Hi there - I am using multiple Vocoder products (Harmony Engine, Tal Vocoder, OVox, etc.). I am trying to Freeze the tracks to conserve resources, however the FX aren't taking. Is there a different process for Freezing tracks that are controlled by MIDI? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Greetings all. I searched the forums, and didn't find any instances for this issue. Using Cakewalk Version 2021.06 (Build 058, 64 bit), and Kontact Version 6.6.0 (R133). I've added a Kontact Simple Instrument Track, and armed the track, at which time, the "Record" indicator in the track lights up, and also the "Arm/Disarm All Tracks" indicator in the Mix Module at the top of the window. I successfully record a passage, and then disarm record in the track. HOWEVER, the "Arm/Disarm All Tracks" indicator in the Mix Module will not disarm, as if Cakewalk thinks a track is still armed. In this condition, any other attempt at recording, effectively doubles on top of the previously recoded passage. I've been using Cakewalk for a great while, but I am VERY new to Kontact. Am I screwing something up, or is my instance of cakewalk flaky? Has anyone experienced this? Any and all suggestions, are welcomed, and appreciated.

  15. I noticed an unpleasant digital crackle while recording with 'Remove DC Offset During Record' option on. It completely ruins the recording. Recorded with Behringer UMC1820 using ports 1 and 2 in mono mode. Strangely enough there is no crackle while recording the two ports as a stereo track.
  16. I am trying to record external hardware, mainly drum machines and synths. Is there a way to arm a track and have it automatically start recording when it detects an input and then stop when it doesn't detect anything?

  21. Hi everyone, I just started using Cakewalk and I'm running into an annoying issue. I'm using my multi-effects pedal as audio interface (connected by USB) and I have my headphones connected to the headphone jack on this multi-effect I can hear my guitar when I play and even feedback from my pc (whatever is playing, the pedal is acting like a USB speakers) However, when I try to record a track, and then a second one with "Sound on Sound" option (or any other rec option for that matter), the first track gets picked up by the input and recorded back into the second track. Even the click track is recorded. In fact anything that is playing in my headphones is recorded back into the input. Please note that the pedal is connected by USB no jack, so there should not be any hardware misconnection. I've looked at all my settings (listen to mic is unchecked) disabled any other audio interface, read countless forums, I still havent find a solution. Could you please provide some help on this.? Thank you all,
