  2. Hi there, 10 year+ user of Cakewalk/Sonar here, and lately have been experiencing a very strange and very frustrating problem for the first time. Whenever I record anything into the DAW, whether it be on a MIDI keyboard or on a guitar, when played back it is noticeably ahead of the beat. For example, if I lay down a rhythm guitar part with a lot of 16th notes over a drum loop, it sounds super locked in while I'm recording, but when I play it back it sounds whack. It is a small differential, but big enough for me to have noticed. Same goes for MIDI. I've adjusted my buffer several times, restarted the software and the computer just as many times, and still no luck. Has ANYONE experienced this issue before? Beyond frustrating as I can't really record anything until it's sorted out. The interface I've been using recently is a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4. Thanks!

They're actually shift to the left while recording approx. 100ms In FL studio this has a easy Fix, watch it here on YouTube: Cubase has a solution for this aswel. 12. I'm fairly new to digital recording and very new to Cakewalk. The Problem I'm having great difficulty with latency when recording more than one guitar track. I'm able to play along and record with the original track playback, but when I listen to what's been recorded, the 2nd track is off by a couple of beats. However, there does not seem to be any latency with recording the 1st track. CPU Specs CyberPower PC with Windows 7, 64-bit AMD quad-core processor, 3.6 GHz 8GB RAM Audio Interface: Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 Things I've tried so far optimizing my CPU settings in control panel shutting down unnecessary processes playing with the buffering preferences in the ASIO panel. I've reduced the buffering to 64 and the settings don't seem to take effect. See the attached screenshots for preferences and settings

  18. Hello, Cakewalk community. I've been using Cakewalk to mix and produce some music for the last month. I am having trouble recording directly from my Yamaha Motif XF8 keyboard. When connecting it via USB, I can use it as a MIDI controller with no problem. However, I'd like to record the audio from the keyboard via USB onto the DAW (for the moment, I don't have any audio interface or mixer setup to record the sounds from my keyboard as a "normal" audio input). I really like the voices from the Motif and am currently trying to record some live performances which involve changing voices, parameters, and such on the go. I've been trying to fine the right plug-ins (VST files maybe?) so that CW will recognize my keyboard, with no luck. Is this something that can be done? I'm fairly new to the whole DAWs world. Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards, Diego
  19. Hi, I'm pretty new to home recording and I've just downloaded cakewalk by bandlab and bought the USB audio interface Behringer UM2. Everythings set up and ready to go apart from this slight problem when I go to record acoustic guitar and vocals together. I want them to be recorded onto the same audio track but when I go to record (on stereo option) they playback vocals in left and guitar in right. Is there a way to get them to playback in stereo? Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance! Luke
  20. Evening. Well, it is as I type. Anyhow, first time I've tried this DAW. I can't get it to record in both ears. Plenty in the right ear, nowt in the left. I've worked out it int my equipment, I've tried it in Ableton & it works alright there. Anyone any ideas, ta?
  21. So here I am trying to record two separate MIDI parts on ONE MIDI clip in multiple takes. After I finished the second part, I see only my new notes showing but I hear both. SILLY STUPID ME!!! I thought they were going to both be on the same MIDI clip BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA I guess not. 🤬😠
  22. Hi! I'm quite a newbie to DAWs and completely new to CW. I just solved the no playback problem (yay!), but I have problems with my recording. When put in an instrument, I can play it without any problems, but when recording, every sound I play gets delayed to a certain moment and then all of those notes play at the same time, with the same length. It doesn't sound on an exact time stamp, so I don't think it has to do with something like snapping to the beat or so. Strangely enough, initially this problem wasn't there when I got the sound working. Edward
  23. Hi everybody, I was just recording a drum track with the built in SI Drum Kit VST. During recording everything sounded exactly like I played it, but during playback the rhythm sounded completely messed up. Inspection of the recorded MIDI notes shows that they seem to be randomly misplaced in time. The attached screenshot shows what sounded like straight eights during recording. My Setup is: Cakewalk V2019.07 USB Midi Keyboard (Alesis VI61) Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 USB Interface with ASIO driver I would really appreciate your feedback. Has anybody else had a similar problem? Edit: The "problem" was caused by the quanzization settings which I didn`t find at first. Sorry for bothering you.
  24. New to Cakewalk by Bandlab so I apologize for what is likely a basic setup question. I am using a Roland OCTA Capture audio interface between my Korg Kronos and Windows 10 on my laptop. I record a drum track then try to add another instrument on a secondary track and when I play it back after recording the two are out of sync by a very small amount. The sample rates are consistent between all components. Is there another adjustment that needs to be made in Cakewalk or my audio interface to compensate for the timing between playback and record? What am I missing???
