  6. As a longtime user (started baking with Sonar LE in before the Cleverbridge updates) I have the privilege of owning all of the old plugins from my eventual purchase of SPLAT. However, I just recently learned that new users don’t have access to these pre-existing Plugins. Is there anyway that new users can gain access to these? I’d love to be able to share with my audience how to do so. I’ve had hundreds of people asking for them already!
  7. My Korg Legacy instruments - M1 & Wavestation orinigally came on CD with a doggle. Korg long ago abandoned the Syncrofoft eLicenser but I cannot run the M1 within Cakewalkwalk as it looks for Synsoacc and Synsopos files - cant find them and hence M1 wont launch. I have removed all references on my system to the files used by the eLicenser - but still Cakewalk wont load the M1. I suspect that either the Config file or the ini file contains some reference to Syncrosoft perhpas picked up from my other drives. Any ideas .. Korg have given up on it. Can I manually edit either of these files?

  10. Howdy! So basically I have seen a couple of other forums about this issue but its worse now...I use cakewalk and komplete kontrol, and the issue here is specifically with the play series of komplete kontrol. The audio sounds fine as long as you load up the instrument from the play series and ONLY play on the midi keyboard without pressing play/stop (spacebar) but when you press play then stop it, it resets the cut off knob to zero and the sound becomes muffled and really low. it resets it every single time you press play and stop. The previous fix I found from another user was turning off the "zero controllers when play stops"...I went to check if I had it on but its not even there anymore . If anyone knows an alternative fix that would be awesome! Cheers and have a wonderful day!
  11. I'm having trouble adding my new VST plugin to Cakewalk (It's Layers by Orchestral Tools using their SINE player). I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and the correct VST paths are being scanned in Cakewalk. Has anyone had this problem before or would know how to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

  14. Hello, Cakewalk community. I've been using Cakewalk to mix and produce some music for the last month. I am having trouble recording directly from my Yamaha Motif XF8 keyboard. When connecting it via USB, I can use it as a MIDI controller with no problem. However, I'd like to record the audio from the keyboard via USB onto the DAW (for the moment, I don't have any audio interface or mixer setup to record the sounds from my keyboard as a "normal" audio input). I really like the voices from the Motif and am currently trying to record some live performances which involve changing voices, parameters, and such on the go. I've been trying to fine the right plug-ins (VST files maybe?) so that CW will recognize my keyboard, with no luck. Is this something that can be done? I'm fairly new to the whole DAWs world. Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards, Diego

  16. This is kind of a polarizing piece of content, but I have met with some good responses! I realize that these views are subjective, but I feel I at least made some valid points.
  17. Just wanted to know if Guitar Rig 5 is compatible to Cakewalk as a plug in, I've read other forums and haven't really gotten a clear answer. Simply put, is there a way I can record live guitar with the effects of GR5 on my Cakewalk DAW? Or do I have to just record on GR5 and then import that file?
  18. The plugin browser in the past(Sonar x1) would allow you to see folder names for the plugin/s inside it. Some people with an array of plugins have folders already properly labeled for prowess orientation. But the current programmers disable it and defaulted the plugin load to alphabetical order(grouped as uncategorized). By enabling the browser plug-in view to have the "folder tree construct" again(implementable by button or mouse right click option or via view menu), users with an abundant assortment of synths and effects can allocate their already sorted library of plugins with no timely delay.(((By using mouse right click in an empty part of the FX pane: select insert audio effects or insert soft synth and THEN your next option can be "Plug-In Layouts" where you need to uncheck the "Sort by Category" option to naturalize the folder system for plug-ins.))) I have not found any other way...cakewalk developers usually allow at least two ways so it can be found or done easier depending upon the tasks. Perhaps adding a button in the folder browser could be a simple find... . .. . As an extra suggestion but possibly an effective function for the Cakewalk browser. Integrating a folder identification prompt or folder plugin group identity(text finder for folder names as a tag finder)prompt for the category of group the plugin/s belong(as a named category aka tag) would become an effective asset for users to sort for grouping when using the cakewalk browser for plugins or possibly maybe the grouping or tagging(or known as librarian) for audio in folder constructs also.
  19. Hello, Is there a way to automatically assign names(hi hat, snare, kick etc) instead of notes (Bb3, G#3, E3 etc) in the step sequencer? As much as I love the default drum plugin of Cakewalk I would find it much convenient that way. Or maybe someone knows a third-party plugin with an intuitive step sequencer? Thank you, spacekid.90
  20. So I'm wanting to use GSnap's MIDI Mode with Cakewalk, but whenever I open up the Plug-in menu thing, I can't find out how to enable the MIDI input for the plug-in. I turned the plug-in into a synth, so maybe that was a problem? Anyways, this is what the plug-in looks like: Any help would be greatly appreciated!😅

  22. So, what an interesting surprise it has been, coming back and catching up on the Cakewalk news of the last 3 years after taking a long break from any sound and music production. I invested a lot on STEAM with Sonar, its upgrades, sample libraries and some plugins. When I originally saw that Cakewalk was acquired and that Sonar was being killed off, I basically came to terms and tried my best to forget about my investments and I have since distanced myself from any form of audio production, until now. Slowly getting back into this world and trying to piece back together the pieces... I was quite amazed to realize that Sonar Platinum has now basically been released for free with support. This excited me and I immediately started researching how to get my other Sonar Platinum related purchases on STEAM working with Cakewalk by Bandlab, but it feels messy and it might have been false hope... First off, I tried re-installing Sonar Platinum with a Lifetime pass on STEAM, but it requests my email address which is then rejected with this error message: At this point I discovered Cakewalk by Bandlab and how to install it. At first, I was satisfied with my loss with this replacement, but what about all of the plugins etc. ? I read on other forums that Cakewalk by Bandlab should easily discover and utilize your previous Sonar Platinum plugins, but it seems like it would only if you never uninstalled Steam Platinum after it died. I have not tried installing all of my purchases yet, but these are the issues I have encountered so far; CA-2A Leveling Amplifier: Rapture Session & Pro: Has anyone else here successfully migrated from STEAM with full use of their previous purchases? Should I give up, or is there a way to continue where I left off? Thanks for reading, I hope someone can have some useful feedback.
