Hi everyone, Lately, whenever I add a VST plugin and open it, it says "Cannot find instrument". I've already moved the .dll file into the instrument's folder. For example, when I try using Atmos Piano (by Prism Audio), it says "Cannot find any instruments". Is there any way to resolve this issue?

Hi everyone, I'm loving this new version of Sonar but after trying to get a little education about it, I tried to access the Plug-in manager and an error message appears - Tool not found: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\PluginManager.exe'. My first instinct was to conclude that somehow the files or file structure has been corrupted and to uninstall/reinstall. But, before I did that, I thought it wise to inquire here. Surely some knowledgeable soul here has the answer.

i made a small song in cakewalk. it consisted of spitfire labs drums, a bass and 2 guitars recorded through a behringer um2 audio interface. i saved my project, but when i opened it again, you couldnt hear the bass and the guitar. the tracks were there, but no audio. i checked the input devices and they were configured right. i used the th3 plugin (the amp one) for both guitars and bass. i hope someone will help me fix this problem. - maxi taxi

Hi. I am completely new to cakewalk and I've been trying to figure it out over the last few days, but right now I've hit a bit of a snag that I can't seem to figure out or troubleshoot my way out of. The problems is that when I add new plug-ins and try to use them, nothing happens. The plug-in I'm trying to get to work is Synthmaster Player, but I also tried installing 1984-piano just to see if it was a plug-in problem or a Synthmaster Player problem. None of them work, so I'm assuming it's a plug-in problem or some sort of settings that are wrong for the plug-ins. When I use the instruments that comes with cakewalk like SI-Electric Piano, everything works fine. I will post a few pictures to demonstrate my problems along with some of my current settings. Settings: I would appreciate any feedback that you might have and I can provide other screenshots or information if necessary. Thanks in advance!

Hi folks. I had to reinstall Cakewalk, in this turn updating it to the latest version (2020.09, Build 006, 64 Bit). Now suddenly all of my Waves Plugins are shown as being missing when opening a project in which they were used. Of course they are still installed. I tried to repair them, uninstall and reinstall them, delete the Cache in Waves Central, reinstall Waves Central - nothing helped. Strangely, when I delete them and restart Cakewalk it shows the notification of plugins having been deleted. When I reinstall them, new ones are added. So Cakewalk obviously scans and finds them. But I cannot see them in the list of plugins and they are not recognized by the projects. I wondered, if it might help to reset the Scan Options in VST Settings. But the documentation says, it will "remove all scanning records and settings from all your VST plug-ins". Does this mean, all presets in all VST plugins or the settings I made in my projects will be deleted? I wouldn't want to risk that.

Hello friends! I'm new to this wonderful software and community, and so far I'm loving it! I need your help, please. I'd like to ask you if it's possible to start from a MIDI file with different tracks, and change each track to a different plugin instrument of my liking? I did something of the sort via the option "Replace Synth", right clicking on a specific track. The problem is that it changes all the tracks at once to the same plugin and patch, and if I try to change another track to a different sound from the same plugin (LABS by SpitFire Audio) again it changes all of them to that one sound. I've always dreamt of reimagining some themes from my childhood like the Super Mario World themes, with more modern sounds. I know this has been done lots of times, but I'd like to try myself. Any help would be much appreciated! Many thanks in advance!!!

Link to my post yesterday. The shift-key solution suggested a day ago worked pretty well, my projects opened smoothly, no pop up or lack of sound or whatever. But just now, the problem is at it again and this pop-up appears when I try to open it. And it's even worse When I press Yes to All, the program closes itself again. When I press No to All, the program opens, but all the MIDI tracks I already programmed/made don't make a sound. Note that when I add new tracks though, they still make sound. But I don't want to start from square one, and have this problem roll around again the next day. It seems like a VST/plugin problem considering the way my projects open when I choose No to All in the pop -up. But I want to know, what on earth screws up in the system when I open projects some time after working with them? I opened this project twice yesterday (1 PM, 11 PM) and there was no issue, but more than 18 hours later (right now it's 6 PM) it's stubborn again. This is so frustrating. I don't want to do this every time I want to work on my projects.

Hello! I started having a problem with my Cakewalk project after a very recent download of a United Audio software update. After the update, UA plug-ins were not enabled, and I got an error message shortly after starting the project, see the attached screen shot. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Cakewalk, and uninstalling and reinstalling UA software three times. Then, I tried eliminating all of the UA demos in the plug-in manager, leaving only the ones I've bought. This worked until I rebooted my computer to try to solve another problem with a different program; OBS studio. After the reboot, Cakewalk returned to the same behavior as before, including the error in the screenshot. Thanks in advance! Eric 200907 UA troubleshooting screen shot 1.pptx -

I can still hear them thorough audio but i cant edit a certain plugin. Ive tried expanding my track view and setting my track to “FX” but i still cant see them. Also this doesn’t seem to be the case if i add a new track and add a vst. I can still see it and edit with a new track. So i think its a problem with my preexisting tracks?

Hi! I know it seems like a beginner question but it's because I am one. The pro-channel is cool, it contains a lot of ready to use modules, EQ and you can even add an FX Chain to add your effects. But what is its purpose if you can also add effects below the prochannel? And when using reverb, compressors, eq. Which one should I use? The prochannels or to just add the effects?

hey everyone, long-time Cakewalk user here and Cakewalk forum user from waaaaaay back (jacktheexcynic). I absolutely love Pro Channel and had a great rack of effects from Sonar Producer X1, X2, and X3. However, my desktop died and I'm using my laptop and it's never had any of the older Sonars on it, plus as a serial upgrader I need my OG Sonar Producer X1 media to install X2, X3, etc. and can't find it. I was using the PC4K S-Type Expander/Gate but it's not included with Cakewalk by BandLab. Are there any replacements for this? I've looked for it and it's no longer available to purchase either.
