I was curious if it were possible to use a multi effect pedal, such as FCB1010, hook it up to Cakewalk and use the pedals to control plugins. For example, lets say I have a Diezel VH4 plugin on Cakewalk, is it possible to control/toggle it from my multi effect pedal?

Hey there, for a purely hobby project, I'm trying to get the Sennheiser GSX 1200 Pro to work with Cakewalk, for playback and recording. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work, being a Cakewalk newbie. Can anyone tell me which settings I have to do in which menus? Thanks, Ingmar

Here's a template I created for use with the MPK2 series controllers that allow visual pad feedback with bank switching. It also makes room for mute pad functionality and feedback by creating a custom device preset which is explained in the included text file. mpk2_cakewalk.zip

Greetings whoever may see this , I'm new to this app and also the recording process as I've just started this year. I just have a slight issue , i use a Scarlett focusrite interface a laptop and an Aston microphone my setup is great but I cant seem to get my vocals right they only come out of one ear even after the recording and export process is finished..... any advice?

Just purchased a used Alesis D4 for the purpose of using triggers with my drums along with Cakewalk. for the life of me I haven't been able to get Cakewalk to recognize it. Any suggestions? Have read thoroughly through the manual. no luck. May end up sending it back to Guitar Center but I need to know I'm not just missing some obvious setting. Maybe i just need to buy a newer drum module that will work with Cakewalk? Behringer U-PHORIA UMC1820 is my interface. Windows 10. Recognizes MIDI keyboards just fine, but not this drum module. I recently purchased a SoundGrid Extreme Server and was having problems integrating it into Cakewalk, so I got on the phone with Waves Support and was informed that Waves plugins will only work as native plugins and won't be offloaded to the Extreme server. When I asked why, the answer they gave me somewhat vague. First, I was told it was a technical issue but when I asked for clarification I got an answer it was a "political" issue between Waves and Cakewalk and I should be using another DAW such a Reaper or Studio One 5. I've been using Cakewalk since its initial release and am comfortable with the workflow. I don't want to go through the learning curve and expense of changing DAWs. Does anyone have any insight as to this issue of should I take it up with the Cakewalk devs? Thanks, Jon

I am trying to record external hardware, mainly drum machines and synths. Is there a way to arm a track and have it automatically start recording when it detects an input and then stop when it doesn't detect anything?

Hi all! How do you guys find Cakewalk at 4k resolution? Is it blurry or good? I would love to hear your thoughts. Please if you would disclose your screen size and scaling factor in Windows as well as sitting distance from screen. I am going to replace a dual-screen setup that consists of two old Dell 19" 1280x1024 (yes, 4:3!) monitors with a new hi-res monitor. Due to speaker placement and ergonomics, I need a single screen in front of me. The width of a 32" monitor seems to be perfect for me – most are about 71 cm (~28") in width – and most people seem to say that 4k resolution needs a 32" monitor. I am sitting about 90 cm (~35") away from my screen(s). Reading about it, scaling in Windows 10 seems to be problematic... so is 4k at 32" worth it, or should I aim at 2560×1440 at 27" instead?

After years of hobbying with rack gear, I'm experiencing a first-time dilemma. While removing a pair of 1/4" inputs from my audio interface, I actually had the tip break off of the left input. The situation is not a showstopper for me, because this truly is an optional pair of channels in my setup. But after two days of ignoring this, it still does eat at my soul, thinking that I've made my interface less functional than it could/should be. My hope in writing this, is that someone in the community has already developed a clever hack for this very problem. I do have a few extraction implements that tempt me, from needle-nose pliers to pseudo forceps, and tweezers. My concern with misusing any of these tools is the potential of introducing a short, where one does not currently exist. The interface is long out of warranty, so I'm also free to pop the hood to get a closer look. Ideas? Anyone? Anyone?

I stared using Sonar Home Studio 7 on the first decade of this century using Windows XP. The time came to move into Windows 7 and I was able to move Sonar 7 into a different computer. While using Windows 7 I purchased Sonar Basic and Sonar Producer. Later on I ended up with Sonar Platinum. I was advised not to delete Sonar 7, Sonar Basic or Producer because Platinum was going to gather most if not all previously installed plugins into itself. In case I was going to need any of those older plugins, Platinum was going to have them on board. And so it happened and things were up and running as expected. The time came to get more hard drive space which led into getting another computer with Windows 10. The Windows 7 computer didn't have enough hard drive space for such, nor suitable hardware to handle the upgrade. A new computer was required and now I'm in high need of re-installing programs into the new computer. Now with the transition of Cakewalk into Bandlab I happen to be here looking for help, Does the Cakewalk Command Center still work ? If it does; Will it be functional to help out throughout a transferring program processing? Will I be able to re-install all previous Sonar versions I've had from the past after transferring program files into this new computer including all plugins? If anyone out there may have some suggestions, I'd appreciate it Thank you, GS

Recently, I updated Cakewalk up to the latest version. However, upon opening my project that I have been working on, it made a lot..I MEAN A LOT..of popping sounds, coming from my speakers. Normally, I set the buffer size at fast and it still works very fine - this project is very simple - but with the latest version installed, I am annoyed that I need to set my buffer size near to safe, all the way to safe and not being able to record the vocal tracks, because of delays. So, I am curious if there is a way to downgrade it. By the way, I am using a ASUS Laptop, an Intel(R)Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50 GHz 2.71 GHz and a horrible RAM of 4GB.

Hi, my budget for a laptop is very limited(500€/550$), but I wanna be mobile. The official website says, Cakewalk requires a multi core cpu with a clock speed of at least 2.6 GHz. Affordable Laptops for me dont really reach that. The i5 7200U Prozessor clocks at 2.5 GHz, which is barely out of range. Is there anyone who has experiences with running Cakewalk on a Budget Laptop?

As I am seemingly finding the number of sample libraries growing my storage space is shrinking. I see that SSD prices are coming down and probably will continue to do so; my question is are Hybrid Hard-drive/SSDs viable as well as the cost per gigabyte seems to be pretty reasonable. Just wondering what others might have experienced using this type of drive? Thanks so much!

I have been searching online and have been reading the Cakewalk and NI Forums for about a couple of days and the only thing I was able to do was to make my Maschine into a mulitimbral synth. Is there any chance that Maschine2 and the hardware (Maschine MK) will be integrated in the future? I provided a picture to show what I have done in it lol. I don't know if it says much but hey at least I gave it a go

If you experience unexplained error notifications from your display adapter software shortly after startup, try powering up your audio interface before you power up your PC. For me if I don't power up my Focusrite 18i8 USB audio interface before restart or power up of my PC, I receive the notification shown in the attached screenshot. To avoid surges and hardware damage, I've always powered up my audio hardware starting with the audio output source and working through to the speakers (PC > Audio Interface > Monitor Controller > Monitors). But, now I power up the Audio Interface before the PC to avoid the Radeon notification shown in the attachment. My display adapter is a AMD RX 580. I had the same problem with my earlier AMD R7 250. I'm posting this thinking that I'm not the only person with this problem and that I've picked a title and tags that will allow others with the same problem to find it.
