  1. Let me describe my problem pretty quick: I've been using SONAR (Cakewalk) by Bandlab on my PC for around 2 years now, everything worked without any issues until now. Since the last update, when I open a project, hit play and then PAUSE, it's suddenly freezing and crashes. I already took a look at the Windows event log which just said that it has crashed... Now the weird thing is, that i never changed anything in the program settings since i used it, which is why i am curious what could be the reason for that. I'd be glad to get any help on that Cakewalk - [kick.cwp] 2022-08-06 15-21-05.mp4
  2. Ok so I'm trying to understand this track freezing feature from this documentation: https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.23.html The word "discards" has me a little concerned (right after "Unfreeze Track"). Are there any deleterious effects to freezing (bouncing) and then unfreezing (discarding), or are these operations strictly inverses of each other, like hiding and redisplaying in the "quick" versions of these commands?
  3. Hi there - I am using multiple Vocoder products (Harmony Engine, Tal Vocoder, OVox, etc.). I am trying to Freeze the tracks to conserve resources, however the FX aren't taking. Is there a different process for Freezing tracks that are controlled by MIDI? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi folks! I'm brand new here, and new to recording/producing - looking forward to getting involved, looks like a great community. My problem is this - I've recently started running into CPU problems with a project I'm working on as it gets bigger. I've read that freezing tracks can help with this - in particular freezing the track on which you have CPU heavy plugins. I'm using the free TH3 amp sim on my guitars. So I'm routing all the DIs to an aux track with the plugin in the FX rack. When I try to freeze this track Cakewalk will just instantly crash - no warning or anything. So I'm left with the situation where I don't seem to be able to freeze the tracks which I suspect are using the most CPU. Has anyone else encountered this or am I doing something incorrectly? Any feedback is really appreciated! Thanks, Conor
  5. I just got my PreSonus Quantum 2626 and Cakewalk will freeze (not responding message) every minute or so. Doesn't seem to matter what I m doing. It happened when pressing Play, Record, Preferences, etc. I have been using RME Fireface 800 with a Thunderbolt adapter with no problems, except some blue screen reboots occasionally. RME is no longer writing new drivers for this device so I decided to go with Thunderbolt. Anyone else getting freezes with the Quantum? I have seen many people on this forum who love it so I am confident this can be fixed. I tried changing buffers. Thanks, John D Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 with latest TB3 update from Dell I7 1065 16 GB RAM
  6. Hi everyone! Two days ago one bug made its first appearance in the DAW on my PC. When I'm playng or recording track, Cakewalk freezes on second (i'll attach short video) and makes work with DAW so uncomfortable. So I didn't change anything in settings and in my audio confing, system etc. but I reinstalled ASIO and Cakewalk recently (clear intallation, I'm sure that there are no any conflicts in system). I actually have no idea why tracks started to freeze. Have you faced the same problem? Or maybe I should ask for support. Anyway, check this video out to understand the problem: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dyxB8T3qOKLVHHzVEwl9vBDD7_T6L-fY Thanks.
  7. OK. So I saw the update info on the new version of Cakewalk by Bandlab with the "Arranger" feature! It looked killer! So installed it, but for some reason the program is really buggy now. The toolbar across the top resets to a minimal set of modules every time I open a new project (or reopen the same project). Clip automation is buggy. I can draw in a few edit points, but then automation freezes. The only way I could finish a simple clip automation was to save the project then do a track automation. My changes to the track view don't remain...I'm always needing to click the little box that says "Workspace" directly above the tracks to say "all" so I can get "Mix, FX, I/O" and everything else. Project is starting to freeze quite often...I have to reboot Cakewalk to play a file. Anyone having the same problems? Is this update too fresh for prime-time? Or am I doing something wrong. Thanks. Donnie
