  4. Is it possible nowadays to loop record a drum VST now so that each take you're recording a separate instrument and building the drum beat by making multiple passes? aka the first pass I do kick drum, then the next pass I do snare and I hear the kick drum from the last pass, and so on? Previously that was not possible.
  5. I am using a Cakewalk drum loop from SI-Drums. I had created a groove clip from it and all was fine until a couple of minutes ago when: 1. It now carries on playing for about another 10 seconds after the loop ceases to show any notes in the track. 2. I inserted a separate midi track into which I wanted to drop some drum fills from the sample midi loops from the Cakewalk media browser. These wouldn't play despite being in a separate track. 3. Freezing and unfreezing the SI-Drums track affects the separate midi track inserted for the drum fills. Not sure why this would be...I haven't linked these tracks in any way. Any ideas? EDT

  8. I am having problems loading any instruments into a project. I usually start with a drum track and that loads fine but when I try to load a second instrument like synth or bass the program freezes up. I have never had this problem till recently. Any Ideas?

  11. Hello, Edit: 23 March 2019 I decided it could be helpful to include a list of upcoming tutorial videos and their links. The video below is the first video in the playlist, but if you are interested in a specific topic, check the following list for quick navigation. If there is no link for it yet, it means I haven't uploaded it. I can take requests, but keep in mind that I run another business on top of my actual Chernobyl Studios audio work, so if I like the idea, it'll get put on the list and I'll get to it when I get to it. I have a channel on YouTube that I created many years ago for creating Cakewalk SONAR Platinum tutorials. I constantly get questions, comments, and requests on those old videos I did years ago. I'm updating all of the Cakewalk videos I did for SONAR Platinum to Cakewalk by Bandlab. There are three videos currently online, with 4 more already scheduled to come out this week. Please share this playlist with anybody who is getting started with Cakewalk by Bandlab. I am starting from the very basics and will work all the way through mixing an entire song. It will take a few weeks, but it will be worth it. 😎
  12. Do you want perfect sound from your mic that’s as close to natural as it gets? If you own an SM57, AT4050, or MXL V67G, the following are EQs that will create a perfectly flat response. Note that you will need the LP EQ (a.k.a L-Phase Equalizer) as this equalizer has enough nodes for the task, has a non-linear setting, and has a high quality, transparent sound (esp., compared to the ProChannel EQ). First, place the LP EQ on an audio track FX rack (open the plug-in window for the LP EQ and click the Expert button, select Non Linear under Precision and Slow under Analyser for low latency recording); next, create a new aux track from the output of the first track; set input on the first track to your mic input and turn Input Echo ‘on’ (also 48V phantom power—only if you’re using a condenser mic, otherwise leave it off). Now, arm the aux track for recording. Recording with this input channel setup will produce some input latency, so go to Preferences and view your Input latency under Driver Settings. Write down how many samples are shown. After recording, set your Snap tool to Samples and enter this amount. Set Snap to ‘snap by’ and zoom in to the front of your recorded clip. Drag the clip left until it snaps by that many samples—this fixes your recorded latency entirely. You can use this method for any input channel FX in the future, such as compressors and so forth. Also, you can use these on tracks already recorded with the above mentioned mics by placing the EQ on the track’s FX rack. Here are the EQs both written (for those not using the LP EQ) and uploaded (for those using the LP EQ). Enjoy! Sincerely, Maximus, Rock Mojo Studios. I recommend using these on vocals when the most natural sound is needed or on tambourines, snaps, claps, etc.; try it on your guitar rig and you'll notice that the sound you get is exactly what was playing through the speaker(s) (perfect for when you don't want to change a thing about your settings!) Need sampler

I think we really need new sampler to use it in Cakewalk. In world of free software I really like TX16WX which can be used not as a sample player but really as a sampler. https://www.tx16wx.com/ - link to TX16WX. This is a great free sampler which main task is to make samples, not to work with libraries, etc. It can be used with everything. I use it nowadays for drums which I like to play on midi pads at home. We had Session Drummer which really needs to be updated. I think modern music needs samplers with MPC workflow. On other hand we have Addictive Drums/Session Drummer for those who need real acoustic drums. We also had old plugins for this task. But nowadays do we really need to buy NI Battery? S1 users have a great Impact Drum Module and Ableton Live users can use Drum rack or Impulse drum sampler. I think Cakewalk needs its own thing to use.
  14. The virtual drums are playing and recording triplets even tough I'm only clicking it once. Does anyone know how to change this or what is causing it?
