Hey everyone, Sorry if this isn't cohesive (it's my first post). I've been using Cakewalk for roughly a year now and just yesterday, I was playing around with some audio samples in my Audio Library folder. All of a sudden, every single audio file sounds slightly distorted and muted, like as if a highcut EQ was placed on them. Even if I drag a sample in my project, it sounds as weird. If I export the project, it still sounds distorted/muted. I tried restarting my computer, nothing. I tried playing around with buffer sizes (put it all the way to Safe) and no progress. I uninstalled and re-installed Cakewalk and the issue persists. I'm very confused since this happened very randomly during one of my work sessions and I'm really unsure of how to fix it. Any help is appreciated! Many thanks!

Glitchmachines Palindrome for $10, Subvert for $5 at Pluginboutique until April 18th. I can vouch for Palindrome having one the coolest-looking UI's of any plug-in, in contrast to GM's usual businesslike arrays of knobs. Reminiscent of the arcade game Tempest.

Hi Guys Looking for advice . Sonar X1 Studio. I think there may be something wrong with my recording settings or mic. Mixdown does not sound as clear as other projects I hear across the web. Frustrating because a lot of time goes into it and I feel the end result is unuseable. I keep the levels below the red but it still sounds a bit distorted to me. Settings: Audio Driver Bit Depth 24, Sampling rate 44100, Mixing Latency Buffers in playback Queue 2, Driver Mode Asio, Dithering Rectangular, File system Record I/O Buffer 512kb. PC specs Processor Intel i5-4210u CPU @ 1.70 GHZ 2.40 GHZ. Ram 7.89 GB, 64 Bit operating system, x64 based processor. Microphone (Dynamic) Sennhieiser E 838 , Interface Presonus Audiobox usb 96. This track is acapella vocals only Any advice would be much appreciated. rainbow master 1_2.mp3

Hi! I'm using Cakewalk (Sonar before as well) for quite long time without any major issues. Unfortunately I recently had to upgrade my old good Windows 7 to Windows 10 due to shabby Adobe whose apps run only on Win10 :) Anyway after this upgrade I have a strange issue. When I record audio tracks with clean signal fed to my Delta 1010 inputs, Cakewalk is distorting recorded audio with little crackles and/or clicks mostly in strong base moments. I tried to change audio settings but increasing audio buffer is just lowering the volume of those distortion meanwhile making everything out of sync due to latency. And it should not be the latency problem as performance bars in Cakewalk are barely hitting 10%. I also checked my computer with LatencyMon and it did not find any problems. When I record using the same setup with Adobe Audition using the same ASIO drivers everything is ok and audio is not distorted. That suggests that the problem is in Cakewalk and not in Windows, driver or sound interface. I'm attaching two files so you can hear what I'm writing about. Any ideas what might be wrong and can I fix it myself or is it some Cakewalk bug? Best regards Chris Audio Adobe Audition.wav Audio Cakewalk.wav

Hi, Long time Sonar user. Thanks very much for taking the torch and carrying this great platform forward. Since installing and using Cakewalk by Bandlab, when ever I export a project, the resulting 44.1 or 48k wav or mp3 files are clipping and distorted on louder parts or even all the way through a song if the content is pretty loud. Everything sounds and looks fine while mixing and monitoring, no peaking or even near peaking levels. I've never had this problem with Sonar producer or platinum versions. I try using export profiles that I've saved and used over and over, or default profiles but that doesn't help. "What You Hear" profile has the same issues. If I choose to export busses, it will export each bus into separate files. If I mute the FX bus, and export just the master, the level is lower (noticeably lower than it should be) and there is no clipping but there is no reverb fx either. If I choose just the master it's fine, (lower but no clipping, and of not F/X reverb on the vocals....) I have my FX bus sending its output to my master so I should be able to export just the master buss and have a good mix with reverb, Right? I've read online that deleting the aud.ini file so cakewalk will rebuild it will fix this sort of problem but that had no effect either. Did Cakewalk change the way things are exported when they took over Sonar? I have to get a mix out for a music video this weekend on Saturday! Please help! Bruce Searl

Hello, Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I hear distortion when trying to record. I am using a MX3M USB condenser mic and audio driver WASAPI Shared. On track 1, I have imported an instrumental. On track 1, I have space for my recording. When I listen to the instrumental, there is no distortion. When I start recording, I hear distortion. When I stop recording and listen to tracks 1 and 2, there is no distortion. Any advice? Thank you in advance! Christine
