About Me

  1. This is a feature request. Currently, "now" scrolls across the screen, and across fixed tracks, which can then jump periodically across the screen and provide on ongoing view of the project. I would love to see a fixed "now", let's say indented 10% from the left edge of the display (or ideally by some settable parameter amount), and have the tracks scroll past "now", instead of the other way 'round. It occurs to me that this may never have been added as a feature because of the CPU it would require, but I've never seen the code. Perhaps it is more doable than I know!
  2. Hi folks. I had to reinstall Cakewalk, in this turn updating it to the latest version (2020.09, Build 006, 64 Bit). Now suddenly all of my Waves Plugins are shown as being missing when opening a project in which they were used. Of course they are still installed. I tried to repair them, uninstall and reinstall them, delete the Cache in Waves Central, reinstall Waves Central - nothing helped. Strangely, when I delete them and restart Cakewalk it shows the notification of plugins having been deleted. When I reinstall them, new ones are added. So Cakewalk obviously scans and finds them. But I cannot see them in the list of plugins and they are not recognized by the projects. I wondered, if it might help to reset the Scan Options in VST Settings. But the documentation says, it will "remove all scanning records and settings from all your VST plug-ins". Does this mean, all presets in all VST plugins or the settings I made in my projects will be deleted? I wouldn't want to risk that.
  3. As title says, I'm trying to invert a clip and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the phase invert button on the audio track strip does nothing I notice, and using the 3rd party VST RS Phase Reverse has also done nothing.
  4. hello everyone, a question when a new update for CAKEWALK 26 to 27 will be released, or is it not in the plans? I've been using SONAR since 4. I like its interface a lot, but some DAW in the market like cubase, Studio one has shown enthusiasts. I say no in terms of quality requirements, the cakewalk already has it. but in interface, more interesting speaker models, more colorful tracks, A Lighter, more intuitive style
  5. hello everyone at Cakewalk, I would like to give you a suggestion, because you guys don't make the CLIPS more clear. sometimes we want to see the sound waves. in the whole project. it has a lot of brightness in the colors of the TRACKS. I always used CAKEWALK. But throughout the project this goes. tired the view. you could give more waves in the waves, more details, for us to visualize better
  6. I'm trying to make a song where a certain arpeggio pattern slowly rises in pitch, but it's too long for me to draw out all the MIDI. Is there any automation feature that lets me do this?
  7. Hi folks! Following on from a video I released a couple of weeks ago, I expand on various methods to fix or improve latency in Cakewalk. WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/gW1ZW9_sgXo
  8. I have just encountered a new problem. I am using the TTS-1 synth but the input echo doesn't allow me to hear what I am playing during recording. It works before recording when the input echo button is on, but as soon as I press record it doesn't work. The midi track records the notes I am playing, I just can't hear what I am playing. Yes, I have tried muting all the other tracks and I have checked that the TTS-1 track is the only one armed and with input echo switched on. I have also used the SI-Bass and SI-Strings just now on the same project and have not had the same problem with them, so it appears it is something within either the TTS-1 or the record function in Cakewalk which I need to change? Please help....I need to get this track finished once and for all!
  9. I want to build a computer for Cakewalk. Windows 10 Home, 64-bit. I thought of two variants. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Variant 1. To use overclocked RAM. For example Crucial Ballistix AES 3000-3200 MHz, Crucial Ballistix U4 3000 MHz. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Variant 2. To use not overclocked RAM. For example Crucial CT 3200 MHz, Kingston KVR 3200 MHz. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is better for Cakewalk's performance, stability, data safety?
  10. Hello everyone! Hope you doing well!!! So, don't know when it started but I began a new project and wanted to loop an audio clip and then Cakewalk crash I did a video to show you better https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PORuiHVg5DVyw1_J8KGFIiOvOgd6xFET/view?usp=sharing And the dump file is here attached John Noizz_09172020_173316.dmp
  11. I want to build a computer for Cakewalk. I want to choose how much SSD to use in it. I thought of two variants. In both variants I will not store archive files on computer on which I will work in Cakewalk. Only current project work files will be on computer on which I will work in Cakewalk. Archive files I will store in NAS or another computer with RAID. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Variant 1. On computer for Cakewalk one SSD: M.2, PCI-E x4, NVMe. Two logical disks on it: disk C, disk D. Disk C: Windows 10 Home 64-bit, applications including Cakewalk. Disk D: current project work files. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Variant 2. On computer for Cakewalk two SSDs. Each SSD: M.2, PCI-E x4, NVMe. First SSD. Disk C on it. On disk C: Windows 10 Home 64-bit, applications including Cakewalk. Second SDD. Disk D on it. On disk D: current project work files. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is better for Cakewalk's performance, stability, data safety?
  12. Hi all, I'm new in this Cakewalk by BandLab, previously using the Cakewalk Pro Audio (decades ago... >.<). I wonder whether this version of Cakewalk has the Event List view, because I've been searching for it but still no luck. Fyi, I'm using Cakewalk by BandLab version 2020.05 build 039 64bit. The Help Center told me there is shortcut to open the Event List view (https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036997613-Keyboard-Shortcuts), but I think the version I installed doesn't have any of it. Even though the Cakewalk Online Documentation has it (https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=4&help=Views.27.html), but maybe for different version I guess? Not found in track popup menu: Not found in Views menu: Could anyone please let me know where I can find it in the application? It is very useful feature to see/manage the MIDI messages. I really appreciate for any helps, thank you. With best regards.
  13. Hi, I'm using Windows 10. My goal is to make a control map for my Roland A-800Pro midi controller to enable full operation of Cakewalk. Currently, I'm having trouble assigning my transport buttons to their Cakewalk equivalents. I read elsewhere that it takes two kinds of software to fully operate the A-Pro (at least in Cakewalk). The A-Pro Editor and the A-Pro Control Surface plug-in. The latter appears to be unattainable as the website went stale and the account creation was disabled. https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007012938/A-PRO-Control-Surface-Plug-in-1-0-1 In addition, the official Roland website states that the Windows 10 driver for the A-Pro midi controller does not support the plug-in for Cakewalk. https://www.roland.com/global/support/support_news/2849/#midikey My questions: 1. Is there another website where I can download the A-Pro Control Surface plug-in? 2. If the Windows 10 driver does not support the plug-in, is there an alternative? 3. If no plug-in is available, are there alternative methods to assigning my transport controls, etc.? Please explain. Thank you.

    Cakewalk clips pane

I'm new to cakewalk . I facing a issue from day 1. I think you guys can help me. After creating a melody in piano roll , I close it and come back to the clips pane and I can't see my melody but it's like some other thing , I don't know what it is.
  15. i have some problem so i'm uninstalled the cakewalk and all the served addons and then, i'm download it again when download the cakewalk in the BandLab Assistant i can choose 4 addons but cant download the melodyne ( already checked in install box) (maybe, because it was downloaded before) but i don't need 30 day trial version ( if that is unlimited free, i have to fix my problem) so point is, melodyne, serviced in cakewalk is a 30 day trial version or unlimited free version? sorry for my bad English thx to read
  16. Hi folks! Sidechain compression is both useful and EASY in Cakewalk by Bandlab. Just take a look at my tutorial WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/cfPSaPHP7E4
  17. Hi folks! If you are sick of robotic sounding songs, check out how to make the click track play with YOU, using Cakewalk by Bandlab! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/I7D3wZldUJw
  18. When I start singing on the mic (Nt1a) the beat comes through on both headphones fine (free online beat), but my voice recording comes through on just the one ear. Even when I playback the audio, my voice still comes through Only one ear. I tried watching a YouTube video to see if the volume still only came through one ear but it worked fine. So it’s not the headset. I have a focusrite Solo interface. Does anybody have the solution to this problem?
  19. Looking at the contents of a simple Project Template file I created, I see absolute paths to my C:\ drive and user data locations. I assume this is not great for being able to share Project Templates with other Cakewalk users or with other computers where your user name or installation paths might not match. Examples of paths found: C:\Users\eelco\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Metronome\Ping This could be substituted with a relative path: %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Metronome\Ping C:\Cakewalk Content\Audio Library This could be using the local installation 'Wave Files' folder configured under Preferences > File > Folder Locations
  20. When reading the documentation and other guides within the app, when exporting to Bandlab it supposed to just update the existing project with the name. This happens normally when I export multiple times during a day. But I'm pretty sure there are people who work in a span of days or even weeks and when I export to Bandlab with the exact same name with the project I already had, it instead creates a new project everytime. I hope this would be fixed or maybe just let us choose a project, not necessarily with the same project name to make it more convenient. Thanks!
  21. Hi! I know it seems like a beginner question but it's because I am one. The pro-channel is cool, it contains a lot of ready to use modules, EQ and you can even add an FX Chain to add your effects. But what is its purpose if you can also add effects below the prochannel? And when using reverb, compressors, eq. Which one should I use? The prochannels or to just add the effects?
  22. Hi folks! Would you like to make you vocals thicker sounding? I have taken this concept by Warren Huart from Produce Like a Pro, and adapted it for Cakewalk by Bandlab! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/mdBR0upbmCg
  23. As I still struggle to continue to learn the Cakewalk interface, I feel confused about the Synth Rack and synth management. Basically, I'm seeking clarity on the purpose of the Synth Rack and how to properly manage/organize my variety of synths being used. For each Track I add/remove, the Synth Rack updates accordingly by adding/removing the corresponding synths. However, in a recent review of my many projects in progress, in some cases the synths listed in the Rack don't match the number of Tracks present. What I'd like to do is establish the habit of properly managing my synths and make sure every instance is accounted for (and properly deleted when not needed). But this isn't always happening. I feel like the Synth Rack is making things more complicated, or I'm overthinking. Furthermore, it pains me that I have a hard time explaining my dilemma when there are so many variables... So these are my questions: 1) What is the purpose and benefit of the Synth Rack? Can I continue to add/remove Tracks and ignore Synth Rack usage entirely? 2) I fail to understand why the Synth Rack works (or doesn't) the way it does. What would cause it to not correspond to my number of Tracks synths present? In regards to replacing the synth in a Track: 3) Somewhat related: How do I convert a MIDI track to a Simple Instrument track? 4) I'm unclear on how to properly replace a synth in a Track. When I drag a synth from the Browser, it goes into the Track's FX Bin. Why would it do this and what purpose does that serve? Any clarity and guidance are appreciated. Thanks!
  24. Hello, I have done a lot of searching (via google) to find a way to do as the title suggests in Sonar Cakewalk, In FL Studio what i found very useful (since im a heavy loop/sample user); was that you could replace an entire .wav file in the playlist just by dragging a different .wav file from the library onto the existing one, what would happen then is it would usually tempo match and recreate (the similar) based .wav sample i was working on for example, If i had a synth sample from a construction kit at 128 bpm and found another in the same key and tempo from another sample pack i could just drag it and replace the entire (previous) sample file (including all its instances in the playlist) and have a brand new feel without much effort. So hope i made what im trying to achieve as clear as possible, and im hopeful that a established DAW such as this has something that seems very basic, implemented. -Thanks, -Audio B.
