About Me

  1. When reading the documentation and other guides within the app, when exporting to Bandlab it supposed to just update the existing project with the name. This happens normally when I export multiple times during a day. But I'm pretty sure there are people who work in a span of days or even weeks and when I export to Bandlab with the exact same name with the project I already had, it instead creates a new project everytime. I hope this would be fixed or maybe just let us choose a project, not necessarily with the same project name to make it more convenient. Thanks!
  2. Hi! I know it seems like a beginner question but it's because I am one. The pro-channel is cool, it contains a lot of ready to use modules, EQ and you can even add an FX Chain to add your effects. But what is its purpose if you can also add effects below the prochannel? And when using reverb, compressors, eq. Which one should I use? The prochannels or to just add the effects?
  3. Hi all, I'm new in this Cakewalk by BandLab, previously using the Cakewalk Pro Audio (decades ago... >.<). I wonder whether this version of Cakewalk has the Event List view, because I've been searching for it but still no luck. Fyi, I'm using Cakewalk by BandLab version 2020.05 build 039 64bit. The Help Center told me there is shortcut to open the Event List view (https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036997613-Keyboard-Shortcuts), but I think the version I installed doesn't have any of it. Even though the Cakewalk Online Documentation has it (https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=4&help=Views.27.html), but maybe for different version I guess? Not found in track popup menu: Not found in Views menu: Could anyone please let me know where I can find it in the application? It is very useful feature to see/manage the MIDI messages. I really appreciate for any helps, thank you. With best regards.
  4. Hello there! I've recently got interested in checking out arpeggiators, then I ended up with Squareheads's Nora 2. That sounds nice, I guess, yet I have no absolute idea about how I could route the plugin in order to make it work. Could someone give me some advice regarding this? I thank you in advance if you took the time to read this. :,)
  5. Hi folks! Would you like to make you vocals thicker sounding? I have taken this concept by Warren Huart from Produce Like a Pro, and adapted it for Cakewalk by Bandlab! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/mdBR0upbmCg
  6. Hello, I have done a lot of searching (via google) to find a way to do as the title suggests in Sonar Cakewalk, In FL Studio what i found very useful (since im a heavy loop/sample user); was that you could replace an entire .wav file in the playlist just by dragging a different .wav file from the library onto the existing one, what would happen then is it would usually tempo match and recreate (the similar) based .wav sample i was working on for example, If i had a synth sample from a construction kit at 128 bpm and found another in the same key and tempo from another sample pack i could just drag it and replace the entire (previous) sample file (including all its instances in the playlist) and have a brand new feel without much effort. So hope i made what im trying to achieve as clear as possible, and im hopeful that a established DAW such as this has something that seems very basic, implemented. -Thanks, -Audio B.
  7. As I still struggle to continue to learn the Cakewalk interface, I feel confused about the Synth Rack and synth management. Basically, I'm seeking clarity on the purpose of the Synth Rack and how to properly manage/organize my variety of synths being used. For each Track I add/remove, the Synth Rack updates accordingly by adding/removing the corresponding synths. However, in a recent review of my many projects in progress, in some cases the synths listed in the Rack don't match the number of Tracks present. What I'd like to do is establish the habit of properly managing my synths and make sure every instance is accounted for (and properly deleted when not needed). But this isn't always happening. I feel like the Synth Rack is making things more complicated, or I'm overthinking. Furthermore, it pains me that I have a hard time explaining my dilemma when there are so many variables... So these are my questions: 1) What is the purpose and benefit of the Synth Rack? Can I continue to add/remove Tracks and ignore Synth Rack usage entirely? 2) I fail to understand why the Synth Rack works (or doesn't) the way it does. What would cause it to not correspond to my number of Tracks synths present? In regards to replacing the synth in a Track: 3) Somewhat related: How do I convert a MIDI track to a Simple Instrument track? 4) I'm unclear on how to properly replace a synth in a Track. When I drag a synth from the Browser, it goes into the Track's FX Bin. Why would it do this and what purpose does that serve? Any clarity and guidance are appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Hi folks! Editing audio in Cakewalk by Bandlab can be a frustration at times. Hopefully with this video you can learn how to avoid some common pitfalls! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/R1EKnepfyXE
  9. I am new to cakewalk and music production as a whole so forgive my poor wording. My speakers cant handle this 808 bass sample resulting in "crackly" sound when it plays. I'm not sure how to fix it, I have tried adjusting the sample rate and nothing seems to work. As I stated I am new to music production so I am using the default audio drivers on my Surface Book 2 laptop(Driver mode:WASAPI Shared Sample Rate:44100 Input and Ouput Devices: Realtek High Definition) If more information is needed let me know. Below I have linked how the audio should sound(lil peep 808 1.wav) and how it sounds when I play it in cakewalk(808 bad). Any help is greatly apperciated. 808 bad.avi lil peep 808 (1).wav
  10. Hi everyone, I would need, if possible, the cakewalk manual in Italian. Can anyone give me information? Thank you all in advance!
  11. Howdy! So basically I have seen a couple of other forums about this issue but its worse now...I use cakewalk and komplete kontrol, and the issue here is specifically with the play series of komplete kontrol. The audio sounds fine as long as you load up the instrument from the play series and ONLY play on the midi keyboard without pressing play/stop (spacebar) but when you press play then stop it, it resets the cut off knob to zero and the sound becomes muffled and really low. it resets it every single time you press play and stop. The previous fix I found from another user was turning off the "zero controllers when play stops"...I went to check if I had it on but its not even there anymore . If anyone knows an alternative fix that would be awesome! Cheers and have a wonderful day!
  12. I downloaded Cakewalk today and started trying the features. But my metronome is not working, I open the preferences to see what happend and the place where I should be able to choose the sound I wanted the metronome to play is blank and I can't seem to find a way to work it out. Any ideas? The image is in portuguese but it doesn't change much.
  13. Hi folks! We each have our own way of doing things, but I thought I'd put together my 5 steps to a better mix (in Cakewalk by Bandlab). WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/P8clJMIsFrk
  14. So, as the title says, for some reason, 27,000 measures were just added to my project, which make scrolling back and forth to find different sections pretty much impossible. Is there a way to delete a bunch of measures (as in removing the measures completely) at once?
  15. Hi folks! If you are sick of robotic sounding songs, check out how to make the click track play with YOU, using Cakewalk by Bandlab! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/I7D3wZldUJw
  16. Hi there, I'M using Cakewalk by bandlab with NI studio drummer plugin, I have created an audio track associated with one midi track for now, very simple. The sound is coming out from the audio track but not from the MIDI track, I have already pointed the MIDI output in studio drums to the track input in cakewalk, but still nothing, in MIDI DRUMS track I can set as an input either None (Omni by default) or select the Channel 1 MIDI but no sound showing in the meter bar on the right. Any idea what could be the problem? WOuld be easier to show you my situation in the following photos: Soft Synth Options are set like this MIDI Preferences are set like this MAYBE HERE SOMETHING I SHOULD SET AS AN OUTPUT? not sure how. or here?
  17. So i am trying to use step sequencer but its always greyed out. Couple of times I have been able to use it but it gives me this error and mutes the instrument. Fix?
  18. Hi, I am downloading cakewalk since two hours now, and it stays on 0/2, I had choosen only intruments suite, how much time it takes to download please? And what is the size of cakewalk and the instruments suite? Answer me please
  19. Hello, I just started using cakewalk with my Jamstik+ midi guitar and I was wondering if it was possible to mute certain notes (strings) with, preferably, some sort of midi pedal? For example, if you were to hold down a chord where you would usually mute a string or two in the fret hand, the Jamstik doesn’t process some of the strings as muted. The Jamstik does have 6 individual channels for each string, so I figure there has to be a way to do this, probably pretty easily. In theory, I’d hit a pedal to mute whatever strings I wanted. Thanks a lot for your help.
  20. Good afternoon all, Hope you're well. Are there any programs to allow for distributed loading/streaming of plugins for Cakewalk? I have some large projects files and i'm beginning to reach the limits with my laptop and so I'd like to offload some of the processing requirements to another computer. I've investigated FX Teleport but this looks quite old now so wondering whether there's a more modern and affective way of achieving this. I've also found DAW Connect but this appears to be focussed more on cloud-services and relies on integration with plugin providers as opposed to being a local user solution. Thanks guys, Matthew
  21. Hello. I'm using the Yamaha Ag06 Audio Interface. I'm also using a voice meter virtual program to calibrate. This time I installed it for cakewalk recording, but I can't choose my ag06. I tried reinstalling the Cake Walk, reinstalling the Amaha driver, and setting Yamaha as my default audio device, but I still couldn't catch it. Let me know if you know how to catch it. It's very urgent.
  22. I have one MIDI track recorded with lots of tempo changes, but with the meteronome set to 120bpm throughout. I created a second MIDI track and manually inserted a note on every beat in the music. Each track starts at 1:01:000, contains a single clip, and is the same length. I select the second track, and invoke Process->Fit improvisation. Nothing happens, no momentary UI freeze, no change to either track, no popup message. I think I'm following the directions to the letter, except that I didn't "record" the second track from the keyboard, but its event list is just a big long list of Note events and nothing else. What could I be doing wrong?
  23. Hi folks! Would you like to know the full process of recording a song in Cakewalk from scratch, through to release on Spotify, iTunes etc? All from a home studio? I'm super excited to be announcing a new 15 part series where I demonstrate just that! WATCH HERE FOR DETAILS: https://youtu.be/Fh36S21Lqg8 I will also post each episode as its released in this thread * Please note that although Cakewalk by Bandlab is the DAW used in this series, some third party plugins are used although these are not necessary to complete this task.
  24. Hi, I have been using Cakewalk by Bandlab and it is an amazing program - and the recent updates have been really great. I am having one issue with Cakewalk. I have a Windows 10 PC with a display connected by HDMI. The display provides a sound device through HDMI (which I use but not with Cakewalk). When I put Windows 10 PC to sleep and resume, I get a notification that the sound device connected by HDMI is disconnected and would I like to route outputs to other available devices. This is annoying as I am not using HDMI sound device in the first place. There is a setting to turn off such prompts (which I am using). However, when this happens, the ASIO driver stops working. I have to click on the button to restart the ASIO driver. Cakewalk works fine after that. A few requests: can Cakewalk automatically restart ASIO driver when resuming from sleep? Thanks. Osho
  25. Hi folks! Recording yourself in a comfortable environment with good acoustics is crucial - but how can you control your DAW? In this video I show how to control Cakewalk by Bandlab using an Android phone! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/6ndfakrS6Gw
