About Me

  1. Can I change the content and data drives to my D drive even though I have created a bunch of projects already? I suppose I can create content and data folders on the D drive and move the files over and change the CwB preferences... but can the storage preference be project specific? Like create a new project and tell that project to store on D drive, but the old projects still use C drive?
  2. I just mastered a song in Bandlab's free mastering service, and to my ears, I think it did a reasonable job. I had tried mastering the song myself but was not impressed with my own efforts. I then tried LANDR which only gave me a low resolution MP3 which was I thought was still better than my own effort. However, it requires subscription for higher quality masters for which I'm not ready yet. I then found that Bandlab offers free unlimited masters in CD quality, and I'm already signed up anyway via Cakewalk. I then made a CD quality and a MP3 master and imported them together with LANDR's version, into Cakewalk to compare the differences. The LANDR version was just a dB or so louder, and perhaps just slightly darker than Bandlabs, but apart from that I couldn't determine much difference between the three versions. So, has anybody else here tried these online mastering services and what are your thoughts?
  3. Has "OTHER OPTION" menu been deleted in latest version as attached picture? I am looking for it to uncheck "Zero controllers when play stops" to solve no sound issue but i can't find it~~~~~ is there anybody to help with this?
  4. I followed the "download stem" instructions for Integration Between BandLab and Cakewalk ( https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022218453-Integration-between-BandLab-and-Cakewalk- ) and when I opened the stem files in Calkwalk (File/Open), all the tracks were truncated at different bar lengths. Some tracks were a bit longer than others but at about the 80% mark in the 6 track song, tracks just ended. Some tracks were midi and others analogue. The song and tracks play normally in BandLab. The tracks were recorded by 3 different players, remotely so there is a chance that different tracks were recorded at different Sample Rates and Bits in BandLab. Any ideas about what wold cause this? Is it a bug? Thanks!
  5. This is a song by Paul Simon. It was the fifth single from Graceland (1986). It pains me to admit that I didn't know it was Linda Ronstadt singing on this classic. @kiwichrys sings magnificently on this one. Recorded and Produced at Baselines Designs (www.baselines.com) https://baselines.com/?p=5660
  6. Hello guys. Attempted for the very first time yesterday to use my Bandlab account and Bandlab's web app to collaborate with a friend on a little project. I'll right down my reactions and questions in the hopes to here about how people is using this workflow to collaborate with people using other DAWS. I would like to know also if we have any info about Bandlab's development roadmap regarding this use case. (Heck, I am even wondering if it would be a good idea that a section of this forum should be dedicated to this topic...) CONTEXT 2 people using BANDLAB web project to collaborate I'm using CWBBL Collaborator is using ABLETON For me, the essential data that should be ported between CWBBL and Bandlab's web app could be something like: Connect the comments tab (Web App) and the PROJECT INFO TAB in CWBBL(Not connected at the moment, it seems) GENERAL TEMPO DATA (not a complete tempo map) That works fine... problem is, Ableton can have decimals in its tempo... like 80.15 BPMs... not possible in the Web App I think... so sync issues might be incoming down the road... will have to sync "manually" to the reference wav file) Is the KEY data connected? Forgot to test that yesterday (Global project key) Track comments would be great (Have not yet found them if they are implemented) Markers / comments on the project's timeline are important IMO (I could not even find a way to add a marker in the web App...) I understand that they are developing a live session feature... I, for one, would like to see that happening BUT only when the "basics" I'm talking about above are implemented. Am I getting something wrong? Missing something about the global concept? Overlooking features altogether? I'm a bit puzzled actually. Would you like to share thoughts / experiences ? Regards.
  7. https://baselines.com/?p=5550 New Bandlab collaboration @kiwichrys on vox, @michelefortunato on the bones, @rabbitwithmachinegun on Flutes. I do the rest. Inspired by a recording engineer who flew to Haiti to obtain a quickie divorce. Dean Parks played the riff that Becker altered with a talk box. 1976 Royal Scam.

  9. My buddy Doug Cross on vocals (@thelonewulfproject on Bandlab) Do you upload to Bandlab? Let me know and I will follow you and leave you feedback there. Maybe we could collaborate. https://baselines.com/?p=5499
  10. I use the Cakewalk by Bandlab for working on music. Recently, my fellow band members and I have been looking at Bandlab as an online collaboration tool to use while we are ... hold up at home! I put up the files but when they try to record a track from home (they don't have a lot of computer tech and one is using his phone) there is a latency issue. When I was testing it I thought wow my timing is off a bit and then the thought oh, wait ... latency. I ran the test once and it worked. I shut down came back this morning and the latency is still there and the latency test no longer works. Did everything right. I really need this to work for the other members. Thanks in advance... V
  11. I am using Bandlab. I have Windows 10. I use a Scarlett Solo as an external sound card. When I insert the TTS Soft Sync track, I copy my pre-exisisting midi track to the new track. But the sound I get when I hit the Sample button on the track never sounds like the result I get after I put the notes in. For instance, the piano sounds muted and when I increase the velocity, they sound like someone is pounding on the piano. It is difficult to hear. And it sounds canned. How can I get my track to sound like the sample? Thank you,
  12. Do I need an internet connection, once I've downloaded and updated Cakewalk by Bandlab? right now I have Sonar Artist installed, but I'm curious about BandLab. I Only use Sonar with No Plugins for live use. Mainly for the Song list Feature and opening different projects for live use. I would like to use it without an internet connection. Thank you in advance! micdim
  13. Is anyone else getting the following when importing a Bandlab project into Cakewalk?: This was working a short while ago. I get it after selecting File/Import/Bandlab Project. It pops up for each track in the project. No sound is transfered.
  14. The Chariot - Because I Could Not Stop For Death I forked this track Sticky Fingers from Bandlab member Humphs. I found the Poem By Emily Dickinson and sang the vocals over his track. I later addd the carriage effects and re mixed in and out the piano for dynamics. Then put a distortion filter on the guitar and piano at the end for the build. I added only vocals and remixed the tracks to make it more dynamic, all in all A fun collaboration that turned out nicely. Hope you enjoy. Full version in link above
  15. Will Cakewalk (BandLab) in the future support DAW automation with Native Instruments NKS keyboards and the like; they appear to support other DAWs already was hoping this would include Cakewalk in the near future? Any thoughts votes?

  17. Hello to everyone in Bandlab and the Cakewalk community! I don't know if someone already did it but I was thinking for quite some time in doing this post. First I'm going to make a summary of why I'm writing all this... I have been dj for more than 12 years and more than a year ago I decided to produce electronic music, but, there was a big obstacle in my way... MONEY... because I had just married and left my native country, it was all new for me and I had to start from scratch , unemployed and in a new country, I had that obstacle to start doing one of the things that I love most in music and wanted to share with people what I could give through the music, it was difficult because first I had to learn all about the DAW and secondly because almost all the big DAW have a very high price (not all of them), so, I started with LMMS, Ardour and Tracktion (the free version) doing some beats and learning on the way, and then something incredible happened, CAKEWALK BY BANDLAB CAME BACK AND NOW FOR FREE! I could not believe that such a powerful software was free and today, it even has a support and development team behind it!!! thanks to that, I was growing, improving and learning in the world of music production. Honestly I do not know how to thank you, only that even if you decide to do it right now not free, I would pay without problems (as long as the software has a price according to my wallet hahahaha) All this just to thank all of you for giving us, those who started from scratch and those who find it difficult to start in music production without a budget for it, this great opportunity to have a full, powerful, professional, huge and pretty good at what he does piece of software. Soon I will show you a little of what I am producing right now, my style is House, Progressive House, Tech House and Deep House. Bandlab and all the team... a big, very big, THANK YOU!!! P.s.: Sorry if it was not the place to post this.
  18. I am having trouble exporting this song's buses into Bandlab because of the 6 minute limit; this song is 7 minutes long, having a limit of 15 mins would be nice for people like myself who likes to make long songs. Moreover, the 12-track limit is pretty restricting, please increase it to something like 16. Thank you for listening.
