About Me

  1. Hi Cakewalk Sonar Developers, I appreciate Bandlab for the new features added in the New Sonar, but something that I'd love them to do on new Sonar is that they should let be the old and true Cakewalk Theme and add their new Theme because the 3D theme look more reality, and it makes Cakewalk By Bandlab to stand out and more attractive, I was about making video on "Cakewalk The Best DAW Interface" the new interface looks childish unprofessional, it looks familiar with Ableton and yet Ableton still has good look, please take a look at other DAWs like Reason, Studio One, Steinberg Cubase, especially Luna by Appolo UAD, I have been so proud Cakewalk since I've been using it since over 20 years back but this new Sonar by bandlab doesn't want to continue with the original Cakewalk Lagacy. Please let there be the original Cakewalk Themes so that we can chose anyone We want better than the color options, this might make Cakewalk by Bandlab Users not willing to go for the new Sonar as everything matters. Please add all original Cakewalk Vst plugins back as We have missed them, these are one of Our joys that Cakewalk is coming back, that it is RESURECTIING. Finally, I have tried to activate Sonar so may times but doesn't work, is it purposely done by Sonar or I still didn't get it right somehow, and same procedure used on CbB and it activated. please take note of this. I will be glad to see Your good response toward all of these points. thanks.
  2. I see that stem separation is all the rage at the moment with RipX, Serato Sample, and especially with FL Studio upping the ante recently and implementing it directly into the DAW. In the comment section of a YouTube vid I was watching on the subject recently, I was surprised to see someone mention that Bandlab has stem separation also with the Splitter tool. I have never used Bandlab so I had no idea about this and just checked it out. It doesn't sound quite as clean as some of the others on the market right now but it's a start. I'm hoping they are planning to implement this in the upcoming release of Sonar. That could really turn some heads. I'm also an Ableton user, and people are quite upset about the omission of stem separation with the recent Ableton 12 announcement. It's probably the biggest complaint I keep seeing about it. Just a thought.
  3. Let me describe my problem pretty quick: I've been using SONAR (Cakewalk) by Bandlab on my PC for around 2 years now, everything worked without any issues until now. Since the last update, when I open a project, hit play and then PAUSE, it's suddenly freezing and crashes. I already took a look at the Windows event log which just said that it has crashed... Now the weird thing is, that i never changed anything in the program settings since i used it, which is why i am curious what could be the reason for that. I'd be glad to get any help on that Cakewalk - [kick.cwp] 2022-08-06 15-21-05.mp4
  4. Hallo guys. I'm new with this forum. I've got this issue with my newly downloaded bandlab DAW. I've searched the internet for a solution but I've haven't found one so far. The problem is one some are experiencing which causes a particular project not to open: When I open the project in Safe Mode the dialog says there is a plugin called Groove Player on the LSR Track Bus even though it does not appear among the plugins used in the song. I've found out that it's the Audio Metronome, used as the Audio Metronome engine. It is located in the Shared DXi folder. When not loading this damned plugin in through the safe mode procedure the project opens and everything works fine. But after saving the project again when I reopen it bandlab crushes again because groove player is still detected during safe mode. I've tried a couple of things including regsvr32ing a Groove Player dll, solution offered by a forum user but nothing... But when I save the project (I've saved it under another name, also) and try to open it again it crashes. Could someone help me break this bugging dreadlock because apparently I'm not the only one having this issue but nobody has provided a clear and detailed explanation so far...thank you very much

  8. I don't know if this is the proper place to say this, but I want to report a bug on BandLab. I hope it is a bug. If not, someone tried (and succeded) to steal one of my songs. https://www.bandlab.com/revisions/fc0f9879-337b-ec11-94f6-0003ffcd3240?sharedKey=OU6-u0pXy0avc1UnN3mgaw This song was made by me and made public a while ago. And now is private and apparentely someone else is the author. I wrote to @bandlab about this and never had an answer. Besides, two of my songs have now a collab that I didn't invite. I wrote to that person and she never answered, either. What should I do? Has this happened before? Thanks in advance. Maria

  13. In this video, we will compare the BandLab mastering algorithm to that of a Mastering Engineer. I have to say, I was impressed by the results! Here’s the video!
  14. Hey all, Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but what the hey: I have an unmanageably large library of instruments on a powerful computer that’s impossible to bring portably. If it’s not a feature yet, I’d like to request a feature and/or app that would allow my, say, laptop or even iPad, to the extent it can, be able to load projects in cakewalk remotely over the internet and use the resources of the stationary desktop to help with rendering audio FX, VSTi’s, MIDI, and audio data. In the mean time, What’s the best way to work on Cakewalk remotely? Codefreq
  15. Are you still on the fence about making the switch from Cakewalk Sonar to Cakewalk by BandLab? This video should help!
  16. I have a problem that I cannot solve, when I create an instrument track, the whole mix starts to play on one instrument (the drum part, etc. is played, for example, on the piano) If I go into the settings and disable the Always Echo Current MIDI track option, then the problem disappears, but I need to manually press the Input Echo button all the time for the instrument to start playing. PLEASE, who knows how to solve this problem, write !!! Thank you in advance
  17. Hello Dear Cakewalk developers. I'd like to talk about such an important thing as a sampler. It's very lacking, especially when you write arrangements. Third-party samplers are not an option, because there is no direct synchronisation with DAW. Please think about my request and add a sampler to Cakewalk if possible. In Ableton and Cubase, it's very cool done. I'd appreciate it if you could add what many people ask for! All the best
  18. I found this video that was posted by Richard Buskin. I think he took an official video and put his audio to it. I took the audio out and put my version of Because. I play instruments and do some vocals on it and @kiwichrys (from Bandlab) adds more vocals. She did all 9 vocal tracks as I also did...but she handles the high McCartney part better.
  19. How is Cakewalk by BandLab free? What is the BandLab business model? What is the difference between Cakewalk and BandLab? Is Cakewalk by BandLab any good? These are questions I am asked quite frequently, and in this video I am going to answer them all!
  20. TL;DR: Do not trust the web version with a project with more than two or three tracks or you will likely end up where I am now - hours wasted and virtually nothing to show for it... I regret trying to use Cakewalk in Chrome. It stutters a lot while recording, for example, guitar. Further, volume settings do not stick and that makes it impossible to produce anything. Whether I freeze or not freeze all tracks but the one I'm trying to adjust, random tracks jump around in volume from inaudible to speaker-shattering. Sometimes volume changes I make to a track survive playback, but mostly they randomly change. Don't think you can make a MIDI drum track with separate objects for each measure - the stuttering is incredible and makes it mandatory to freeze the drum track, which takes several minutes. The drums also go out of sync randomly when not frozen. I wrote a new song I was excited to record and I foolishly tried to use the current versions of Cakewalk. Alas, the desktop version simply does not work at all (it launches but I get a spinning blue 'wait' mouse pointer circle that never changes) and the web version is too buggy to use. It makes me sad because I put ten or twelve hours into this project already and the best I can hope for is to export the individual tracks and try to get them into a separate project with my old copy of Sony Music Creator, which does everything right and has never let me down. For the record, the problem is not that my computer can't handle it - it has a 9700K and 32GB of memory. I never thought I'd use that much RAM until Bandlab assistant used almost 22GB after I had tried to close it and I had to use Task Manager to stop it. Seriously bad and dangerous programs; I wish I had not tried them.
  21. Hello, i am a new user of Cakewalk and i like it, but there is one thing that bothers me a little, maybe i am not alone in this case. when i play or record something, i noticed that the time counter and the playhead cursor are not smooth but jerky, is there something to modify in the preferences to get them smooth? In preferences, i tried ASIO, WASAPI and MME but nothing changed. Here is my PC configuration: CPU : Intel Core i7-6700K MEMORY : 32 GB SOUNDCARD : Realtek High Definition Audio Thank you for your help
  22. Hi all, I'm a complete rookie with cakewalk and cannot get my keyboard to play through my bandlab digital duo. Digital duo shows up as audio device and not a midi device. I can connect my keyboard directly via usb to my laptop and it shows up as a midi device but there are major latency issues. Here's my setup: Casio Privia L&R stereo output to single mono input into Bandlab Link Digital Duo. Digital Duo connected to laptop via USB. Using latest cakewalk. Can anyone help? Happy to send an Amazon giftcard!!!!!
  23. Can I change the content and data drives to my D drive even though I have created a bunch of projects already? I suppose I can create content and data folders on the D drive and move the files over and change the CwB preferences... but can the storage preference be project specific? Like create a new project and tell that project to store on D drive, but the old projects still use C drive?
