  1. @msmcleod After checking out the above suggestion, I find that it is not adequate for what I was trying to accomplish. Yes, this will allow one to shrink the strips (tracks) to a minimum, but once that is done, the double arrows in the top right corner are now useless. Clicking on them does nothing to expand the strip since this is now the collapse & expand height. I can see this has some function (CTRL + resize track), but not what I wanted to do. I would again suggest that "expand/collapse" support the quick grouping of tracks. Thanks, Syphus
  2. Thanks - I knew of that trick. I just thought there might be something like CTRL click on the double arrow in the right hand corner (with all the tracks selected in the folder). Of course, I could not get that to work . . . I'll check it out and see if it will do me for now . . . and I have to add: Developers should add this, I think it might be useful . . . LOL Syphus
  3. Is there a keyboard binding that will allow the collapse or expansion of the "all selected tracks" in the Track View? I have looked and can not seem to find any keyboard commands. What I want to do is select all the tracks in a given Folder and collapse/expand them all at once (not Take Lanes). Thanks, Syphus
  4. Some mighty big hands!
  5. Here is another method that I sometimes use . . . Set up a audio track the way you want to use it (input, FX, etc). Select this track and "right-click". Hold the "Ctrl" key and click on "Duplicate Track". This will bring up a dialog that you can select how many tracks you want. All duplicate track will have the same properties as the first (the original). If you are intending to use folders, place original in a folder first, before you duplicate and all the dupes will be in the folder also. Hope this helps . . . Syphus
  6. Where's Mr Methane when you need him . . .
  7. That was what I was thinking. I believe that if it is a version before it was moved to the "Views" menu, then you can click in the browser to bring the Synth View up.
  8. Hello . . . I may not be the best person to answer this, but I did have an observation. On your screenshot above, there does not seem to be a "Lens" drop down. You were saying you did not know what to use per various references in forum topics (lens vs Workspace). Workspace is used for the Bandlab versions of Cakewalk (I don't know when Workspaces were introduced in Cakewalk). Sonar Platinum should be using "Lenses". It appears you are showing Platinum, but as I said, I see no "Lens" drop down. Here is a link to the documentation for lenses: https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Lenses.1.html If you had this available you could set it to "Basic" and I believe your menu option in Views would have a item: Synth Rack View Alt+9 You can try this command and see what happens. I opened my version of Platinum and the selection did appear on my "View" menu drop down. I don't know what version you have there but the lenses appeared around the "2016-11" version Here is a reference to the next version (12) that I found https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2016000052/SONAR-2016-12-Update-Fixes-and-Enhancements The point is, if your version is before 2016-11 you mat not have lenses . . . Sorry I can not tell you the answer you seek. Do some Googling . . . Hope this was somewhat helpful Syphus
  9. Happy Holidays to all. Have a great Christmas day! Syphus
  10. I rather enjoyed that! Thanks for sharing . . . What I really like about it is that it give me that "old time" feeling of Christmas of long ago . . . Syphus
  11. This also happened to me. I was not sure if it was EZBass or Cakewalk. New projects were fine (adding EZBass in set up). But this one project it kept crashing. I ended up transferring my main tracks to a new project and there was no more problem (other than the time factor of rebuilding the project). For now I suggest that you create a new project, add EZBass (even if you are not ready for it yet) and start your work. I have not approached support for either app at this time. I can tell you that this started happening after the last update of EZBass along with the 2021-10 release of Cakewalk (this is why I do not know whom to suspect). Making a template with all your required elements (bass, drums, guitar app) might help avoid this situation for now . . . The dump file is from EZBass - I was too busy to try to analyze the dump to see what had happened. I did not see a dump from Cakewalk though. In my case, cakewalk did crash, but I think it was because of EZBass. Perhaps setting the debug level in Cakewalk could help gather more info . . . I'm just busy at the moment and don't feel like being sidetracked (if I have a solution that is working). Anyone experiencing this and finds the solution to the problem, please post it here for all to see . . . I have to believe at this point that other are having this problem also. Thanks, Syphus
  12. I was not clear from your post . . . The first part shows that the "Bandlab" app id looking for where the program should be installed (if you could have downloaded it. I would try what scook said . . . Look under "Early Access" in the forum for web installer info . . . Syphus
  13. Hi, First question is: Did you install cakewalk? If the answer is "Yes", the did you try starting cakewalk from the "Cakewalk" Icon on your desktop? I don't recall ever trying to start it from the "Bandlab" app . . . Syphus
  14. Did it just go-away or do you have a hollow dialog box? I just had an experience with it not updating correctly . . . had to contact support. Try installing the update again. Syphus
  15. It does . . . Thanks for the response. Syphus
  16. @Time+Space, Hi there . . . So what does "Full version only" mean? And I went to your link above for "EZDrummer and Free Expansion" - I did not see any mention of the expansion? Does it come with the free EZX? Thanks, Syphus

    XLN OLI Updated

I believe I have the latest available for my machine . . . But it never hurts to check again . . . Thanks Syphus

    XLN OLI Updated

I was being serious. A backup has, on many occasions, saved my caboose. Well thanks for the advice . . . Unfortunately I do not do incremental type backups - I usually clone my drive once a month . . . Syphus

    XLN OLI Updated

Restore from backup. Yeah that would be nice . . . But no such luck (i.e. no recent backup) I don't know if you are being serious or not. But for those whom might be experiencing this problem, I contacted XLN support and the provided me with an override file that installs the previous version. Now I have a usable dialog box now. The unfortunate part is that with this file in place I can no longer update past this version. We will see what support will be doing about the problem. Syphus

    XLN OLI Updated

Fuel to the Fire! Opened the Installer - it updated itself and when it finished, all I had was a transparent dialog box . . . AD2 still works (for now) Anyone know how to revert back to a previous version? Just wondering . . . Syphus
  21. IF the screen sets are to be abandoned, it would be nice if the bakers would let us know. I myself are aware of workspaces, but don't really use them. If I should be using them in my workflow (due to screens going away or no improvements) - I'd like to know sooner than later. I guess I will try to spend a little time looking at workspaces. . . Syphus
  22. @dave coomber look in Downloads\Cakewalk Syphus
  23. I think "removed" = "moved" I'm wondering what cakewalk folder . . . Definitely need a bit more information here Syphus
  24. Contacted Support and they said they were having some trouble. Try DL tomorrow . . . Seems to be working now Syphus
