If you don't want to dig into modular synthesis but just get sounds made with that kind of synthesizers you can start checking the free Reaktor player and the instruments available for it. Here are some videos to get you started:

Thks Sergio , it's not that i don't get it ...it's just time consuming that's why i went for exemple for UHE basille style of stuff , pretty semi modular but straight to the point ...

As I said, I don't know why but for me is the opposite. Lately I'm underwhelmed by new soft synths with loads and loads of options. This one looks simple; the multiwave oscilators with waveshapping capabilities reminds me of my little microbrute and minibrute HW synths  that I like a lot (of course with 2 oscs intead of one, and 8 voice polyphony) or even the roland ms-101.  As I don't like to install and uninstall demo versions I'll keep seeing the audio/videos on the web 'cause I can't get it right now. But for $69 (or less, who knows) I'll probably get it in a month or two (as Softube's new 296e comes first in the queue).

Sergio , you seems a synth addict ,.....how do you find softube stuff ...versus NI modular in reaktor ?

This is exactly the reason why I have begun to unzip most plugin installers with "innounp.exe" and then install only the wanted items by hand!!!

I have enough of all this (for me) unused AAX stuff, Windows menus (with useless uninstaller and web page links...), 32-bit Vsts, and so on ... In addition I experienced that many uninstallers are unreliable, i.e. they leave rubbish behind (so it's better to do it by hand!). I also prefer to install the documentation files in one single place, because it is a mess with all those plugin providers: They have a lot of phantasy to install their docus in so many different places that you never find them! And VST3 it is a real chaos: Some copy the vst3s barely into the main folder, some under a "provider" subfolder, ... Frankly, I prefer the old way plugins were delivered: With a simple zip file! But today there are not many providers doing it in such a user friendly way!!! Based on my experience it is also much simpler to install the plugins on multiple systems by hand, than with those cluttered installers! Many even do not remember the directory and install settings when you do an update. Each time you have to select the same things (very stupid).

But now I am much happier as I have found the solution with innounp. I put then the contents into a zip file (only the things I need) for history and for the other systems, very nice!

Gonna check this thing ... thks

Exactly :( But having center for some plugin is not even close to worst case scenario...

Not mentioning many manufacturers (like Waves, McDSP, NI etc) don't have respect for our space and order on disks and is pushing installation of AAX (for people who never used PT), 32 bit etc...

And forcing after install/reinstall to clean manually 😕

What's more removing manually not wanted 32-bit NI VSTi (read : cleaning trash) make NA is showing install for whole product is broken. Kind of madness...

And we are ending with versions of plugs we don't want but it make DAW scan for VST longer and longer...

Yep that NI crap is killing , i can t update seveveral stuff  cause of that ...

Yes, cubase/nuendo blacklists the 32bit version and it's not a problem as it then doesn't bother to load it - this wasn't the issue here.  Lots of plugins don't even give you the choice !

you HAVE to install the 32 bit version if you want to run it in standalone mode - plus the original v2 install MADE you install the 32bit version before it allowed you to install the 64 bit version, so I already had both on my system.

From what I can tell the problem is that the resource files for the various versions get messed up during the 32bit/64bit upgrades.   I've been in touch with support and they are now recommending what I suggested as the best method for 'upgrading'

I've never known cubase to blacklist a 64bit plug just because the 32bit version is also on the system - it blacklists by "path/filename.dll/filename.vst3" not by plugin name.

It hapened to vertigo  64 bits that's why i was giving this info ;)

FWIW got my upgrade working by uninstalling both the 32 and 64 bit versions - manually deleting all the junk left behind and reinstalling just the samples and the 64 bit version

Why did ya installed 32 bits version ? Cubase is known to not like even black list plugin that have both ?!!

Too many knobs that would encourage one like me to use presets.

it's actually super simple , you also hgave a simplier version called the Mix component and the clipping in this is jut the ice of the cake (don't know if it's the good formula lol)

  8. Personnaly , i adopt the NI komplete strategy , i wait 2 or 3 version before upgrading , and then it's worth , i'm still V5 here  , i will wake up until eithr the V7 price is usper low or the V8 comes out with great stuff and spark again ;)

  9. In fact , prices is relativ to the frequency of usage you gonna have with this , i just finsihsed a whle album using 70 % of the time Sonicouture ELectro acoustics , so yep prices isn't cheap but if it serves the goal in a solid manner , i  invest ;)

for a regular production type of work , i would say yep , it's expensive (if you do regular rock , country , ballad,  even pop ect ....) if yo don any genre that you have room to "exotic moves" , it's a pure joy ;)

  10. You're welcome guyz and Have fun  , it's really something , i will do also one for Atlas , waiting on the update to do a fair comparison .... so far i really enjoy this and really the sounds that comes with are a big plus to justify the purchase .....

By the way, there's no intro sale, just regular price, which is pretty expensive.

Intro price is 179 at xln and way less at jrrshop or audio deluxe .... ;) be sure to double check
