Yes, I would be interested in the cajun box, but this isn't quite up to the mark. I've been looking for a good Marc Savoy cajun box vsti for a while, but there isn't anything out there. My band mate (now no longer with us) had one of these boxes, and they're really glorious, like a musical combined harvester, a real honking majestic beast!
Yeah the sound of those boxes awesome - I'm pretty sure I saw the Savoy - Doucet Band at a festival one time they were across here in the UK when cajun was really popular. I liked dancing to it - could never get the foot moves (two left feet) but was great at the all in wrestling bit with my arms!

Seems to have worked ok for me this time

The Tango accordion demo track sounds amazing. Not so convinced by the cajun track - and I've heard (and danced to!) a lot of cajun music (very popular at UK folk festivals in the 90's)

Thanks - Hard to know whether there is sufficient content in each package to be worth downloading - anyone succumbed yet?

Excellent video as always Mike!

I have a Cakewalk A-500PRO. Please be warned the pads are very hit or miss and practically useless for fingerdrumming.
The Menu system is also pretty 1950s .
Everything else is pretty lovely and well built, especially the keys.
I've had my APro 800 for many years now - still find it unfathomable! Must be the worst manual in the world!

The article says,
"BandLab bought acclaimed music production software Cakewalk from Gibson Brands earlier this year, stripped away its subscription model and made it a 'pay as you like' affair."
Not sure what that means,
I assume it is referring to the tip jar that was available for users to show their appreciation of Bandlab in the early days of the CbB takeover - haven't seen it mentioned recently though

Excellent - I saw this was on it's way 🙂 Thanks!

Just run through Bloody Nightmares. Not a bad free soundset - useful for cinematic effects and drones / ambiences. A decent amount of content too

Ah apologies I misread it as Air Xpand2! Yes a bargain synth 🙂

Bargain -a great rompler

I'm just watching from the sidelines here letting the more experienced CbB users do the hard testing but have to say this commitment from the development team and users is quite inspiring. Well done everyone! I wanted you to know that and say how much I look forward to getting my hands on the final release

MAGIX are always full of surprises, a lot of that is probably because while they are supposedly huge in Europe, they don't seem to work the US market as much. Also, they have absorbed so many product lines that things seem to get tucked into the corner.
I just discovered they have their own Halion/Kontakt/Sampletank sampler, called Independence, and you can register and run it in free mode.
https://www.magix.com/us/free-download/independence-free-sampler-software/
Installation notes: At one point the process will stop and show a dialog saying that there are missing files. Just click on the button that says to agree to download them.
Registration is free, but does require that you set up a MAGIX account.
Out of the box it comes with an acoustic piano, after you install all the extra sounds it's over 100 instruments including some nice drum kits, both acoustic and electronic, and a variety of world percussion instruments. Also pianos, a pipe organ, many synths, basses. A worthy download if you want more sampled instruments.
I've been using Independence Free for many years. It's got a very nice acoustic guitar in there!

A further step forward - it appears that it is the blend control on the NI Analogue Dreams that was creating the link between the controller messages - I ignored that and just did MIDI learn on the other controls and it solved that issue - a bit of poor programming I suspect on NI's side (though it still could be me!)
Â

After a bit of late night tinkering I have solved the second point above myself - I had forgotten that I had to click on Act MIDI learn as well as use the midi learn command in ST4
Hopefully I may resolve the other issues but any help / advice still much appreciated! -
Hi all
Been having a frustrating hour or so trying to get my APro 800 Controller working more comprehensively with CbB. I've mainly tended to use the keyboard and transport keys previously which work fine but using the knobs and sliders is a different matter!
Issues so far:
APro 2 used to be the input port that worked now it appears to be APro 1
Can't get Sampletank 4 to Midi Learn control knobs on macros (or probably anything else but not tried)
Midi Learn will work with Komplete Kontrol (& other synths) but in some cases links one controller knob to several on screen knobs. When I look at midi assignment it seems to have assigned a group which presumably is why more than one is affected
Any ideas that would help me resolve any of these issues would be most welcome - I'm not too worried about it using APro 1 as the input port just puzzled why it has switched to thisThanks in anticipation!Â
