  1. To keep it simple: stop buying things and start using things for the purposes they're bought to (a long time ago sometimes).

I know. Easier say than do.  🥱

But that Voyetra 8 (UVI PX 😎 is mighty sweet:

I totally agree that sample based hardware synths are perfect candidates for sample based emulations (of course), especially if the synth is totally digital and the filter and other algorithms can be copied or recreated.

But comparing those two offers I think that the PX apollo should cost a lot less since it has 3.39 GB of samples and the Voyetra V8 have 15.53 GB.

I know that this dos not reflect necessarily the quality of the instrument but... almost 4x more sound material!!!

Having said that I'll get the Voyetra and I'll pass the Apollo.

new synth stack V3 is better deal if you wish to update, it gave me 81usd to upgrade for Lowdown, Elka X, Sines and new GX-80 so about $20 a piece

loggin to see your upgrade price

My upgrade would be $100 for adding Elka-X, GX-80, Lowdown, Sines and Miniverse. Also $20 per synth.

But as much as I like Cherry Audio instruments I'll wait for $70 or less for this deal.

OTOH I could not resist getting the Rackmode Modules for Voltage modular for $35:

    https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/rackmode-module-collection

And also the HetrickCV Vol2 for $15 (I got vol1 for the same price in a previous BF):

    https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/hetrickcv-volume-2

    That's what I call a Deal!

The Rackmode bundle is also available as standalone plugins for use in a DAW but without the control voltages I think they would not achieve their full capacity as sound processing devices.

  4. Last year I bought a Roland System-8 synth and I sign Play4Life as a cheaper way to get lifetime keys for the softsynths I can upload (or plug-out in Rolandese) to it. This year I'll keep the keys for the new released Jupiter 4 and the Juno 60.

I paid $199 for the subscription and those two keys worth $378. It's a way to add value to my System-8 purchase.

This topic is about AmpliTube and not sound libraries.

You are correct about the sound libraries, and I am not a fan of the policy. But I was pointing out the facts for those that may be skimming this thread and conclude based on incomplete info that it applies to AmpliTube, which it does not!

Thanks to this topic I just purchased Total Studio Max 3.5 for the same price; a much better deal. So, at least for me, I'll have to deal with this sound libraries issues again.

Doesn't apply to AmpliTube or any application installer, just to sound libraries! :)

I know that. And because the sound libraries can be multi gigabyte in size is precisely why this policy sucks and possibly force us to make unecessary downloads.

This download policy makes me furious.

I guess the intent of charging for reactivation of downloads is to offset some of the cost of the download traffic?

You know what it makes me do @Peter - IK Multimedia? It makes me download every single sound pack in both Mac and Windows versions, just in case and even if I don’t intend to use them, because I know that my downloads will expire.

I’m sure I’m not the only one, so this policy actually increases download volume and cost for IK. If you didn’t have this policy, I would only download as needed, and probably wouldn’t download everything. And certainly not for two OSes.

I totally agree that paying to reactivate downloads sucks and the best reason against this is that we could download only what we'd use and when we'd use.

But download for two OSes is too much trouble to save 10 bucks IMO. I mean... how much would cost me to change from PC to the cheapest Mac if I ever need?

By my estimation, Total Studio 3.5 MAX for $99 makes more sense because it includes Amplitube 5 MAX plus much more if someone qualifies for the MAXgrade. Suggestion: check the price of TS 3.5 MAX while logged in to see if you qualify for the $99 upgrade.

Don't forget to use your Jampoints. Total Studio Max is $70 for me.

Glad it helped and I'm a little the same with the lowest price like that too!

I had thought I might get Effectrix at some stage, but I find using this is a little more creative and likely to come up with things that might not come to mind in Effectrix. This has all of the main effects that I wanted for that anyway and in some senses I prefer this as it's easier to hold an effect on for a longer amount of time.

The best creative sequencer from them is Obscurium IMO but I had nothing but trouble trying to use it with synth plugins that are not from Sugar Bytes itself (not to mention that it does not work with HW synths). That's why I wanted Thesys. It's more direct for this kind of use, although way more limited. I finally got it and I'll see. Thanks again.

  10. I always wanted Thesys. It's a simple sequencer but I can imagine many ways to use it, specially with external hardware synths.

It was sold years ago for $12 at Musiciansfriend (I think) but only in physical media and only in the USA.

I have a rule that I always register the lowest sale price I find for a plugin and I set that as the top price I'm willing to pay for it in the future (if I cannot get the plugin during that sale, of course).

But in this case I'll break this rule because I never saw this plugin for download for so low before. And I'm waiting that for some years now.

Thanks for MusicMan  and Doug Rintol for mentioning this JRR sale.

If it ccame before I didn't noticed and would let it Lars... I mean... pass!!!

Edith says:  that If I keep trying I'll eventually succeed in saying something funny in a foreign language but she does not have much hope for me.

  11. $29.40 for me too and I have the Elevate Bundle and the Generate Synth.

Regarding the products the Equivocate equalizer (included in the bundle) has a match EQ function that works with a sidechain input and it'd the best I ever used.

I'm not sure if I love their GUI though. It's compact and works but these square faders are a bit weird IMO.

  12. OK. In the video they show the voices without instruments. I agree that this can be very useful in productions. And for 10 bucks it's a no brainer if you are into pop songwriting.

Also I imagine one can build different harmonies with  the solo voices and something like Melodyne f.i. Or even create eerie ambient sounds with spectral freeze or granular processing.

  13. I have many duplicates in the form of VST2 and VST3, although I always try to install only the VST3 whenever there's this option.

Also I tend to keep installed and active  only the plugins that I can activate via iLok, pen drive, cloud or unrestricted serial numbers (and I keep my iLock ZDT and insurance updated for peace of mind).

I don't like the idea of having my precious licenses "burned" in a computer HD that can go south at any time. I lost a set of Arturia V Collection licenses once because of that. So I tend to install and activate this plugins  only when needed.

And the small set of my most used plugins varies with the task at hand.

End of November, some until Jan 23! Now that's a sale end date I shouldn't miss :D.

Another question, while I appreciate the quality of the sound from xils synths, I actually have had only crushes and other issues from the only plugin I have, xils 3 le. Are you guys having less trouble with their other synths (on windows)?

I had issues with miniSynX only, and it is authorized by serial number. I also have XILS 4 and  the String Machine collection, that are authorized via iLok, and never had any issues with them. I'm on Windows 10.

    SynX vs miniSynX ?

SynX is not on sale. And miniSynX crashes my machine. I gave up trying to use it some time ago. Better test before buying.

To me the highlights are XILS 4 and XILS V Plus (the better string machine emulation IMO). I also have the 505 but like the former better. And I also have GForce VSM that is much more flexible but is sample based, not an emulation.

My 1st choice would be SynX but i'll wait for a better price.

To not let this sale simply pass maybe I'll get Kaox. I didn't mind for it when released but for $42 I'm now considering it.

This and also the fact that it's the first real sale XILS is doing ever since I heard about them.

Wouldn't any stereo EQ with mono-maker frequency adjustment do the same thing? Like Brainworx Digital V3? Or Pro Q 3?  I don't see how this is special. Everything I'm seeing in the Youtube demos can be done with Pro Q 3. No?

Actually, messing with Brainworx Pan EQ it seems you get much more interesting results, as it's 3-bands. Although it lacks a mono-maker setting unfortunately.

    Maybe I'm missing something.

I think bx_stereomaker have a similar functionality, with mono-maker and a Tilt knob for some panning and with stereo expansion thrown in for a good measure.
