Same happens here. I go to https://id.korg.com/users/codes which gives me a coupon and says it will be $150 off like you mentioned. There's a buy button, so I do that and add it to the cart but the coupon says invalid like a few others here. So weird that it worked for @Sergio but ours aren't working.

My coupon is for the upgrade from Collection 4 (that I own) to Collection 5.

I'll get this promo. The Arturia sale is also great but I'm at V Collection 9 and also have all their other interesting synths released after that IMO: Pigments, MiniFreak V and Minibrute V,  except Synthx V, that is not included in the V Collection X anyway. I'd rather get the latest (and greatest) Arp 2600 emulation from Korg now and wait for the V Collection XI.

  2. There's an in-depth explanation of this synth plugin by their creators in the latest Pro Synth Network show.
But I'll also wait for better deals from Cherry Audio. In particular I'm waiting (for some time now, though) for the next version of their "V Collection-ish" Synth Stack.

  3. I'm at collection 9. I jumped Collection 10 'cause it had nothing interesting added (IMO). But got MiniFreak V and MiniBrute V as soon as they were released.  I also got Pigments in a previous sale.

Some turn up the nose at the Minibrute V but I have a real Minibrute and love it. The virtual version has the same sound and it  is....POLYPHONIC!!!! 😍

The Synthex is a nice addition but, for now at least, I'm glad with what I have and I'll wait for the next collection to incorporate all the new stuff.

  4. Shoal | Tracking Modifier

Shoal is an envelope follower and pitch tracking amplitude modulator that can create everything from mellow vibratos to chaotic lo-fi effects. It was inspired by the dark textural world of Vondisy — a new collaborative project between Puremagnetik artists Micah Frank and Kodomo.

Shoal follows your input, shaping an envelope that flows with your sound, adjusted by the STRIDE control. It harmonizes with an oscillator that tracks your pitch, creating rich AM modulation. The DIGITS control then bit-crushes the signal, adding arrays of folded overtones. Shoal invites you to explore its dynamic range, offering everything from shimmering harmonics to raw, minimal tones.

    Sage | Spectral Delay

Sage is a cutting-edge spectral processor, drawing inspiration from the iconic but discontinued Native Instruments Spektral Delay plugin. It offers unparalleled capabilities in crafting shimmering rhythmic patterns and manipulating subtle harmonic overtones. By dissecting and modulating audio across the frequency spectrum, Sage can reveal hidden layers of sound, introducing rich textures and evolving sonic landscapes that were previously unnoticed.

You get Shoal by buying the album VONDISY 1 by the artist Vondisy at Bandcamp (name your price, minimum $1) and Sage is on sale for $15 until oct-5-2024 .

Hmmm, I'm wondering... No reactions on this one? Too bad? "Too close to the DSP56300 Vavra Waldorf MicroQ project?

The Microwave 1 synth had digital wavetables as sound sources but true analog filters. Micro Q is completely digital (as well as the Microwave 2, XT, etc). The only synth with analog filters in this lineage where the Q+ family.

So this is the Waldorf modern "take" on the emulation of the original Microwave analog filter natively.

One could argue that the digital filters implemented in the Microwave 2/XT back in the 90's, that runs on a motorola DSP chip, were also an attempt at that. I don't know... I never had a Microwave 1 to compare with my Microwave 2.

But the advances in this technology since then are so overwhelming  that I don't doubt this emulation will sound closer to the original synth than any attempts Waldorf have made in the past.

I'm tempted. But I'll probably  wait for some future sale on this one.

I agree. you dont need it. but i gotta check this UAD promos. I dont see where they get $74 from.

The promo is this one: https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/plug-in-bundles/uad-producer-edition.html

They gave a $25 coupon that can be used with $99+ purchases. The coupon is individual and you must log into your account to see it. But I don't know if it was given to anyone or for existing customers only. If it's not your case create an account there and see if the coupon is available to you.

  7. My upgrade is $99 from FX2. I checked whats new for me and it's 2 EFX, 2 BUS, 3 DIST, REV-LX24 and Rotary.

Nine new effects but I still feel underwhelmed.

I think the current UAD promos (the producer bundle for $74 for instance) are better deals.

But I recently got the new Microbrute V, a single synth albeit a great one, for $49. Go figure ?

    YMMV

they are not a big company, I believe there is only 2 of them running it.

I know that. But if they can't keep with whats being offered they could extend the period for 48h or more. The way they do the promos is frustrating and, as I said, had a negative effect on me as a customer since I have a good chunk of their plugins.

    Yes, the site is unstable.

I finally got the plugin after trying to get it about ten or twelve times.

My opinion is polemic I know (since they're giving something for free) but... anyway...

I don't know what Hornet wants with this "free for 24h" and being unable to deal with the people trying to get the promo. The first time I couldn't get one of their plugins for free because of that I wrote them a polite complaint and they solemnly ignored me.

After  that  I simply don't buy anything from them anymore and ignore all this kind of promo from them. I keep using what I have but I'll never buy anything from Hornet again. I guess this kind of policy to get new customers worked backwards with me.

  10. I can get the Producer Bundle for $74 with the coupon.  I already have 3 of the included plugins but there's 13 I don't have for $5.7 each. Not bad!

I'll probably get this bundle but what bothers me is that it'll not count a cent if I wanna buy a bigger bundle in the future.

  11. This synth looks interesting. But from the main page I always have the impression that it's too similar to Padshop from Steinberg, that I already have. But... anyway... as already said... I don't need another synth.

Edith says: unless it's another "perfect" vintage emulation. Isn't it you junkie!

  12. I have Opal, Polymax and Brigade chorus but they don't give a cent of discount. What I'll do with duplicate licenses? Also I have alternative plugins from Softube, PA, Waves etc for all their plugins. I guess the quality of UAD is undisputed but I'll pass.

  13. Generative Devices | A Suite of Self-Evolving Synthesizers

Generative Devices brings together five of Puremagnetik's acclaimed self-evolving synthesizers. This suite of devices creates everything from granular texturizers to microsound collages to idiophonic percussion and stochastic strings.

Use these tools to create new musical ideas while exploring the control of timbres, articulations and scales. Each device can be animated for parameter modulation and mutation, creating complex textures and clusters of sounds.

Normally $75 get Generative Devices through Sunday for only $12.

Oh, interesting. I'd not looked in to the Oasys PCI card yet. Good to know it uses the same chip. Thanks for sharing.

I picked up an actual Korg Oasys keyboard two years ago and haven't had time to even mess with it yet. I need to hook it up and play with it. Got to back it up too to be safe. Korg was nice enough to let me register it so I need to complete that process now that I think about it. Thanks for reminding me.

If I'm not mistaken on the keyboard version Korg ported Oasys to an intel based platform running a customized unix OS. I don't know if there are motorola dsp processors on the keyboard but I doubt this.

At that point I lost interest in this platform (too expensive among other things) and changed to a system based on Sharc dsp boards from Creamware.

I found this two part article about Oasys on the Sound on Sound magazine that I read at the time but don't remember the details:
