  1. I've been running into this issue quite frequently as described by the title. Cakewalk really doesn't seem to be capable of making looped events which are in odd measures. For example, here's a measure in 19/8 I'm trying to make a looped pattern of: With it selected as it is and making sure it completes the measure, performing `Ctrl+L` to loop it results in Cakewalk removing the last 8th note of the measure: If I try to prevent this behavior by creating the loop by selecting one extra note of the next measure, it will simply ignore that and clip the last 8th note as it that selection didn't exist. If I extend the event to include that extra 8th note with the provision it will be clipped once the loop it's made, that empty 8th note space is added as part of the loop. WTF: If I make that a two bar pattern, it makes the loop normally. WTF #2: Considering the complication Cakewalk already impinges upon you if you want to deal with multiple time signature changes, why looping a pattern in that format is inconsistent like that? Why does it clip the last note of a measure even when it's not invading the next measure? Why does it add an empty note space when you go over?
  2. I think a better range which doesn't require this crazy fingerboard with awkward fret divisions could be accomplished by using a 9 string guitar, tuning it one step down then replacing the bottom C# with a high G. If possible adding 27-29 frets. That should cover the vast majority of tuning range across guitars in theory. I don't have the funds to buy a 9 string and try that, but that's the idea.
  3. On these new Sky Guitar models, the top knobs control some DSP effects like wah, delay, a looper and so on.
  4. Yes. All frets on his Sky Guitar are scalloped. The fret number varies from one guitar to the other (which is a clear display of quality control when you're selling a guitar which costs the price of a car), but they usually have 30-34 frets: 27 normal frets and the last 3-5 are divided as whole tone instead of semi tones. Because of the amount of fretboard the guitar has, the neck pickup is under the last bit of the fretboard. Here's a video of Uli himself explaining it: While I do think the electronics and extended range are cool, this has to be one of the ugliest guitars I've ever seen. And considering how expensive it is, it has that look and feel of something being made by a shady gypsy which is trying to pull your leg and your wallet.
  5. I sense someone may have some AI-driven agenda, especially when a response to a post which was primarily my opinion in regards to how I use the tool has this level of pedantry and condescending statements. I hope whoever asked you to shill is paying you well, cause I don't earn anything to state my opinions. And, if you actually read what I wrote with more attention, you'd figure I was talking about MDX-NET, not Spleeter or Demucs. Any more trivia you want to impart into people before they get bored of being patronized? So, you weren't content with the first paragraph and had to summarize what you already said? In the future, I'd advise you made use of the AI tools you like with such passion to write your posts for you. They'll come out shorter and straight to point and with less patronizing, condescension and pedantry.
  6. The vast majority of physical products out there, audio or otherwise, do not require any form of registration so you can download drivers or companion software necessary for said product to work and thus, the practice of registering a physical product in order to have access to said features is an exception, especially for products which do not require a computer to work, like a synth or effects pedals. The serial printed in the product is not the product's serial number and cannot be used as such. The actual serial number of the product is in the card that comes with it. But that's not the problem. The problem happens when you have to jump through hoops in case you want to sell the equipment in the future. You now have to store boxes and crap that came with the product. Invariably, you'll forget that only IKM works that way because none of the other products you have are like that, then that will come to bite you once you decide to sell it or buy it used from someone which made the same mistake.
  7. If you don't register your hardware, no driver downloads will show in your account. And since the serial for the product is in a card which can easily be lost instead of being on the physical product, you're begging for users to be led into mistakes.
  8. Yes, the separation in MDX is better than that of Demucs and Spleeter, but it only separates vocals from instrumental, which makes it not as useful. Granted that could be circumvented by Using UVR's "Ensemble Mode" and operating multiple models, but that already makes an operation which is not fast (My separation times for songs of varying length tend to be around 40-50 minutes) into something even slower.
  9. You don't even have that option with IK. If the owner doesn't transfer the license to you, you can't even download drivers for the product, let alone software for it.
  10. The only other company which does that is Native Instruments for their Maschine. The only legal way to obtain their drivers and software is by tracking the original owner and having them initiate a license transfer, which may or may not be impossible depending on how much of the original contents of the box (including the card with the product's serial number, which is printed on the product itself in every other product out there). No other hardware selling company does that because of how anti-customer this practice is. And that's for almost every single piece of hardware IK makes.
  11. This video is an obligatory watch for every Apple owner. Another issue also included iOS monitoring the battery life of your iPhone, then introducing random system slowdowns if it was old enough just to force you to upgrade, regardless of the conditions of the battery.
  12. Wait until you buy their hardware and you'll see the fun to be had. For starters, the product's serial number is not on the product itself, but in a card that comes with it. without it, you cannot download drivers or software necessary for the product to work. Great strategy for screwing up with people that buy used gear.
  13. I think the whole thing is a bit confusing. Do we have to buy something then apply the code or it's just adding it to the cart? Because if the latter, why the post title is "free with purchase?"
  14. There's only two pieces of amp history which interests me. One is the Metasonix G-1000 *****ing *****er Amp, which I can't show the panel of for reasons you'll see if you look for it, due to David Lovelace's artwork of it and the control labels. Essentially, Eric Barbour took a bog standard tube amp and every circuit where a tube could be placed regardless of function has a tube, giving the amp a total of 21 tubes. The amp runs so hot that it shuts itself down after two hours of use. When it first launched, only a limited run of them were made and sold for around 5k a pop. Trent Reznor was one of the people which bought one according to Eric. The other is the Mojave Dirty Boy, which was a limited run of 25 of what technically would be considered Blues Sarraceno's signature amp. Think EVH is cool? He didn't have a built-in Variac in his modded Plexi... And of course, the 200W Fender Dual Showman, which some would call The Dick Dale Amp, with the custom 2x15 cabinet with custom JBL speakers with aluminum caps:
  15. The same way any Lizardman like him does.
  16. I know about that. I was talking about a way to switch between them without using the mouse.
  17. So, is this a new product using the MusicGen algorithm? Because you can make use of that quite easily either using the HuggingFace demo or the Collab Notebook.
  18. And the most hilarious part is...Even if you buy all of that, it will still cost less than a single Sky Guitar. https://www.sky-guitars.com/
  19. Also, you can only display 8 arranger tracks at most, even if you have more of them.
  20. I'd rather have a Dual Showman Reissue over whatever that is.
  21. I'm afraid to watch this and half of the interview is Rick repeatedly asking about real pianos versus plugins.
  22. Apart for the whole grammar pedantry aspect of the post, the current issue with programs like Synthesizer V is it takes a considerable amount of work to make them sound good. Much like AI algorithms, they're made for people that use them by people that use them. They're unintuitive both in terms of workflow and interface and documentation is non existent. The fact it still is a niche product made for people that want artificial voices means innovation is slow and not many improvements have been made so far since the instruction of the first Vocaloid 20 years ago. As per guitar, that depends. While some aspects of guitar have been successfully sampled in some products, there are still things you can't emulate properly not because you can't sample them, but because the controllers and interfaces you have available are not capable of giving you control over those aspects to the point you could render convincing results. A good example of that would be fretting. In a real guitar you can vary the pressure on the frets you're fingering and that's independent from the dynamics of your playing. How are you gonna interface that with a keyboard? Even in an MPE controller, you'll still have the same problem. A solution for that started with IK and their MODO Bass, which are still limited in some control aspects but give you way more control using synthesis instead of logarithmically increasing library sizes just to add one extra aspect to the sound.
  23. If these are recurring, then you'd need some sort of triage. Usually, spam bots die down when your registration has to be manually enabled by forum staff. Another way which is more work and would slow down the forums considering would be what Black Magic does, which is each post has to be approved.
  24. Please don't tell we also need a 4K display to view the forums properly. I don't have the funds to afford a Samsung Galaxy or Xperia 1 V.
