I figured it out. I should've have selected the Midi out device as well. I was able to create multi layers of Midi to plugin. Thanks!

I did the exact same thing but it still tells me that "No MIDI messages have been received during learn. Check your hardware and software configuration and retry" What am I doing wrong?
