Jesse, I listened to a lot of ELP in the day, so they may have crept into this song a bit.  You make me chuckle... that was just his t-shirt...  And, yes!  The song forum had a huge influence!

No Lynn, I'm serious.  I know that was you playing the guitar, but if you look at the video, right after *****,  the part with the lady with the sad face, SRV is behind her swinging a beer bottle..,  I swear.

  2. Love your handle, Lady Fuzz Tail

    very nice!

a great example of what can be done with "stock" instrument and tools.  You are a good chef, and could make a fifty dollar plate out of a can of beans and some salt and black pepper.

There is a lot of action going on underneath the lid.  Really liked that move at 1:09

I wanted more, seems like you could continue to flesh this out, and maybe you will, hence the name in the beginning?

    Very cool LFT.

  3. Lynn, I remember this song.  It is very good, almost thought I was listening to ELP.

Was that Stevie Ray Vaughn at 1:48?  It looked like him.

Another example of the Song Forum Quality.

Hey Jesse , this is one of your best.  There are so many things going on that you might think would conflict in this song, but it all works out and sounds ultra cool.  Luv that banjo!  I didn't quite catch the phrase at the end  ---  eat more potatoes????

    My Man FreddY!

    yes,  I can not lie,

the last phrase says "cranberry sauce,"

just kidding, it does say "eat more potatoes."

come on down and see my farm FreddY, it's been so long my cows don't even know your name.

This is pretty unconventional and I like that a lot about it.  Agree with some of the things others have said with the kick being a bit boomy.  It gets lost in the mix a bit at times and smears the low-end.  I think the kick and bass are fighting a lot as well.  I think the vocals are at the right level, but there are some things that are fighting the vocal for space at a few points (between 0:46 and 0:53, for example).  The vocals are just a tad lo-fi sounding, but I think that really fits the song itself.

I like the song.  It's a fun one.

Hey Myriad, thanks for the comment,

I wish I could make the corrections you suggest,

but I left my thumb Drive in the rain, and all is lost.  It took so long to make this song, that I just don't think I can conjure it again.

    frustrating to say the least.

Jesse channels Tom Petty on Acid, IMO.

    Which is great BTW.

BaPu, your comment reminds me of a rainbow with ADHD, after quaffing a liter of Mountain Dew, and that is a good thing, IMO

Jesse, this is one of the hippest songs I’ve heard in ages. It’s either perfect, or the slide could stand to come down just a little, but a masterpiece, nonetheless. Well done!

    Oh Lynn.

Glad you liked it.  I appreciate the enthusiasm.

Peace be upon you and yours.

  8. I do not know this song,

    but I love the spontaneity.

give me 5 minutes of reckless abandon over perfect coifs and painted faces any day.

you just keep on doing what you are doing

    you will find the way

     i don't think you know

    where you're supposed to go

    so

    Get up and move on

    no roots settle you

    get on down the road

and you will find yourself in another place

it's going to be so good

    so you get on

    you might find out

    if you would you would

so get on down to another road

and you will see just what i know

going to take the time to get on out yourself

    now let's go okay

    i don't think you understand

that you're going to have to take a stand          get on know and go

because it's not where you belong right now

    go

    get

    got

    no mourning

    you will

you will see tomorrow in the stars

you will see the future before you

    spread out across your table

    get on now

    and be on your way

    dodo what you mommy say

    send off

    I bet the farm hey

    (8 bars +/-  unintelligible)

     you must find a way

you must find a way to a better day

    and it's just

     right there

around the corner if you go

get up now and be on your way

and you will find your way
