Please forgive me for making observational notes here. I'm hoping some other people are investigating this demo, and might share their observations . .

    Is this considered thread hijacking?

Hey PhonoBrainer, I haven't had any experience with zynaptic, and I'm not sure I know what you want to do, or what the plug is designed to do.

Have you ever tried The Mouth by NI, it runs in reaktor.

I didn't bring a coat, but I'll show my way out.

  2. Is it true for plug ins too?

National Academy of Sciences, January 17, 2012, vol. 18, no.3

    Abstract

Most violinists believe that instruments by Stradivari and Guarneri “del Gesu” are tonally superior to other violins—and to new violins in particular. Many mechanical and acoustical factors have been proposed to account for this superiority; however, the fundamental premise of tonal superiority has not yet been properly investigated. Player's judgments about a Stradivari's sound may be biased by the violin's extraordinary monetary value and historical importance, but no studies designed to preclude such biasing factors have yet been published. We asked 21 experienced violinists to compare violins by Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesu with high-quality new instruments. The resulting preferences were based on the violinists’ individual experiences of playing the instruments under double-blind conditions in a room with relatively dry acoustics...

...In a recent wine-tasting experiment (15), subjects were given samples to taste while an MRI machine monitored brain activity. It was found that increasing the stated price of a wine increased the level of “flavor pleasantness” reported by subjects; it also increased activity in an area of the brain believed to encode for “experienced pleasantness.” Could a violinist's preference for a Stradivari violin—and, indeed, the pleasure he or she experiences in playing it—be in part attributable to an awareness of its multimillion-dollar price tag and historical importance, both of which may be signaled by its distinctive appearance?

  3. I love the lyrics!  I also like the bass, good jog there.  There is much going on underneath, and I can appreciate that.  I'm still trying to figure out all the different instruments in there.  I also like the way you did the backing vocals.  Nice work!  I enjoyed it.

  4. The mix sounds great to me, but all your mixes are well done.  Nice work on the drums too, they really fit the tune.  The arrangement is very nice too.  Overall a very nice put together and recorded song!  Those keys at the end are very interesting.

  5. Cool!  Nice guitar work.  A real nice arrangement, ebbs an flows.  I really like the vocals.  I prefer upfront vocals.  The solo, it follows the melody nicely.  The git i the vocals at 3:21 is nice and then you finish with a flourish.  Again, nice arrangement, great to hear from you.

  6. Hello Bert, I really like this song.  It reminds me of Fleetwood Mac.  I really like the piano.  When the guitar finally comes in ti tells a story all on it's own.  One of the poppiest WTF relationships song ever.  Thank you

  7. I didn't watch this because I am under house arrest.  Did they show guitar rack that descends with the flip of a switch?

You can see some of his acquisitions in the upper right of the thumbnail.  Probably a million $ worth.

The coolest thing is, his wife occasionally prods him to buy collectable guitars.

She has an eye for value, imho.

Woodstock was fun. Especially the mud slides after the rain!  I'm sure that is not what you meant, but not everyone that plays in the mud are pigs.  Just having dirty fun.

Anyway, the tune is very complicated., but certainly interesting in its own right.  I had to double dip to absorb it as best I could. comes across as chaotic, but there is certainly an underlaying pattern in all the abstract muck.  Its not something I would gravitate to or could listen to for any great length of time.  And by no means is that an insult or a disparaging account.  I really didn't like Frank Zappa too much, but obviously my assessment doesn't mean he had no talent. Just not my cup of tea.

I hope I didn't go all piggy in my review.

Hello Free Ear Candy, let me make a few things perfectly clear.

I appreciate your honesty in what your tastes are.  My expressions lately have been of this sort.  I don't think anyone would gravitate towards them or listen to them for any length of time.  I am ok with that.  Though I wish more people could appreciate what is going on under the hood I understand that it is not going to happen.  It is the nature of the form.

If you actually double dipped then that says a lot.  It says to me that you actually noticed that there was some substance to the expression.  Yes it is chaotic, but it is ordered chaos, and you noticed that.  That means more than anything to me.

I never really knew who Frank Zappa was.  I had heard the name, but never had any of his music or listened to any of it, and still don't.  The only pieces I can say I listened to was the one about yellow snow, and the dental floss song, other than that I only know about him because I am often compared to him.  I am also compared to Captain Beefheart, but again, I have heard the name but never listened to his group, except to figure out what people meant when they compared our styles.

So, thanks again for the listen and comment.  I did not take it harshly, it is abstract muck, on this we can agree, but that is where I am at. It is great to be alive.

Were you really at Woodstock?  I did see the movie.

I don't think I can recall every imagining what Frank Zappa would sound like if he went down a rabbit hole and stole all the tarts. But I am now! O.o

Its hard to find the direction at first, but I started to play along. Interesting composition out of left field.

I had to look up rabbit hole and tarts.  I've never read that book, but I am going to now.  Thanks for the listen, and the tip.

He trusts to you to set them free,
    Exactly as we were."
