While there are things to like about Capella-Scan, it is infinitely better than PhotoScore, however there are things that are present in Capella-Scan version 8 that are not present in Version 8. I like that it will recognise up to 4 voices per stave, whereas PhotoScore is only 3. I like that the recognition is superimposed over the score rather than separate windows. I use Capella Scan because it crashes far less than PhotoScore, and to my mind recognition is more acurate. EG. The Instrument selection for the template is much more difficult. And the awesome search and edit in multiple ways has been scaled down (as far as I can see), you could if you wanted to delete everything the search found in one go with version 8, but in version 9 you have to go to each selected item and delete individually. The save feature is a bit buggy. And while I welcome the unification with it's sister programs, I am disappointed with the current search, and it is now a major flaw in my opinion.

It's finally installed, 5 hours total, but I still need to know why it dropped registration.

I've used Cakewalk for nearly 2 decades. I also purchased lifetime licence a year before it CW was sold. I have used Bandlab version since it came out. (I'm using Windows 10) Today I wanted to urgently create a file, and to my horror I got a message that saving had been disabled, use Bandlab Assistant to Register. Bandlab assistant was out of date, and attempts to update it failed, so I had to reinstall it from scratch. The next message was, Cakewalk is out of date (No option for registration showed). So now I click update. The installer is stuck on "Extracting files" with the progress at about 20% as it has been for at least the last 3 hours. (Previously when I have been 'required' to update all has gone smoothly. It's now the end of the day and I have not created the file that I needed to make. Q. How can installation be speeded up, and why did by previous registration become unregistered? Frustrated is the polite way of stating my mood at the moment.
