  1. Looks interesting, but I’ve given enough of my money to Digidesign/Avid through the years.  They are notorious for not maintaining/updating their software drivers. Thus, eventually making their interfaces unusable for the latest Operating Systems and DAW updates. I’ve got two of their interfaces just collecting dust. Learned my lesson.

I'm still around...and just because I'm not logged in doesn't mean I don't read the forum!

    Thanx for caring and asking!

    Good to hear from you!

    Welcome back!

If/when you start to post on here again, you should start using affiliate links. I’ve never been a fan of clicking affiliate links, but for the hard work you’ve always put in, I’d be more than happy supporting you. I’m sure others would too!

or don’t… it’d be great just having you back on here :)

That's exactly the sort of speculation that got the other threads locked. Off-limits!

Okay, so this is a taboo topic.

Cue the song, “We don’t talk about Larry.”

All joking aside, we’re just genuinely concerned about Larry. The dude was awesome. And I’m very much concerned so that whatever happened to Larry hopefully doesn’t happen to any of us on this forum.

Probably best to just let it go for now,  because the mods are likely to lock this thread as off-topic.

They have already locked a couple of similar threads discussing Larry's whereabouts. Just saying... ?

Out of genuine curiosity, what exactly did happen to make Larry leave?

I have known him to take breaks, but it looks as if maybe he quit this thread?

If the intense investigation into plugin deals was getting to be too much I fully understand. I really don't think anyone did it better than him.

The deals thread has managed to still keep going pretty well. I dunno, Maybe spreading the load around is going to work best?

No need for one person to feel pushed and stressed.

I appreciate the efforts of all here who continue to bring us great deals almost daily.

Larry had some awesome posts that I would’ve missed if it weren’t for him. Got my latest set of studio monitors from his post.

He would have made a pretty penny if he used affiliate links (which it seems is allowed on this forum).  And I’m sure we’d have supported that.

Looks like the original Reaktor ensemble is still available, for five bucks:

Interesting that the URL in Brian's post above specifies just "hexcel", but the equivalent URL for the VST/AU version under software/ is hexcel-2:

    https://www.adsrsounds.com/product/software/hexcel-2/

The new one's definitely prettier, though they don't otherwise seem to be calling it "version 2", so I wonder if there are any functional differences.

Hmm... I'm looking at the websites side-by-side.  The interfaces look the same to me.  I'm guessing they're the same.

Hidden gem: if you have your eyes on a Meldaproduction bundle that includes MWaveFolderMB, they'll give you €24 credit toward the bundle if you have a license for this. They assume that if you bought it from a 3rd-party vendor that you got it for 50% off list, So, maybe worth it for that alone even if, like me, you never even touch the FreeFX Bundle version.

As for the others....yet another fake sidechainer? And the very idea of a DAW plug-in that emulates the flaws of an early converter is....I don't have the word for it. Unfathomable? "Make your sounds really not pop in the mix! Add fabulous 'digititis.' No JetPLL!"

Still, every Meldaproduction plug-in is....precioussss, yes? My precioussss Meldaproduction FX. We loves themmm.

Thanks for the tip!  Wasn't going to buy this, but now I am.  Love Melda plugins... can't beat lifetime free updates!

Yes, they are well respected and make excellent stuff.  I think if they updated the UI look you would see them get a little more attention.

Sonically they all punch above the price point.  Also note they tend to have some stripped down versions you can get for free which gives a good taste of the sonic quality and if you will bond with the looks/interface.  The UI is rather utilitarian but can also tend to be on the boring side of things visually

Thanks for that info.  I’m probably going to get the limiter

I deleted all my aax plugins because I had no use for them and they were taking up space. Now whatumigonna do?  Good thing I have no use for Pro Tools.

It genuinely feels nice not having to worry about AAX plugins.  I remember the days of RTAS too... *shivers*

Love my VSTs and looking forward to CLAP
