  1. https://store.fortecomposeracademy.com/ 40% off throughout January. Does anyone have any experience with these? This looks very interesting to me to help me learn more details of orchestral composing/ arranging / instrumentation. They include both MIDI and Cubase CPR project files. I use Studio One and, although maybe not necessary, I would like to look at the project files. Studio One can only read XML files from Cubase so I may have to load up the 30 day free unrestricted trial version of Cubase to convert the files (I'll use my spare/scrap laptop for this), unless someone here knows of an alternative method to do the conversion.
  2. These stomps and claps and snaps have worked very well for me. Easy to dial in and sound good.
  3. Wow! That's a pretty bad sounding mandolin.
  4. Very nice. Thank you for doing this. Do you think all layers of a given instance still uses the same core?
  5. Um, I live in Texas and have a real Balalaika. Please don't turn me in.
  6. Love their Celtic and Russian folk instruments.
  7. And right now you get another $5 off when using PayPal.
  8. I don't have any direct experience with your particular problem, but when I use a MIDI controller in Finale I notice the delay is due to the sound output part of the process, not the MIDI input portion. So I'd focus on that. Have the sounds preloaded into RAM or put the sounds on an SSD drive. Things like that...
  9. That has definitely NOT been my experience with this company. They are very responsive, treated me very fairly, and given me GREAT loyalty deals.
  10. Drat, bought the Vintage Gent for $70 using slices and bundle discount. Could have saved maybe $25 and gotten the freebie if I waited 2 days!
  11. Probably not. This is an electric guitar.
  12. But you still have to buy something to get it. Some here will call this not really free.
  13. https://cinematique-instruments.com/index.php Dec 5 thru Dec 14. Single instruments only. Bundles are not on sale. This does not seem to appear on Time & Space. Only on the Cinematique Website.
  14. I've used their Taylor extensively and it is very good. Most people can't tell it's a VSTi as long as you take the time to touch every-single-note. The articulations take some getting used to but, so far, I've been able to accomplish everything I've set out to do, both finger-picking and flat picking.
  15. I went way overboard this year with: Spitfire BBCSO Pro upgrade (still downloading on day 3) Spitfire Harpsichord and Orchestral Grand Piano ... and now I can get Spitfire Aperture 3 Scaler 2 + reMIDI + instruction videos w/free Orb and AAS soundbank Several GOG games SmartScore PDF -> MusicXML converter (never on sale, but got the Finale User $200 discount) Best Service accordion bundle w/free Oud Strings 8DIO Misfit Bundle <- been disappointed with 8DIO but couldn't resist this strange mix. Embertone Intimate Solo String bundle, Mountain Dulcimer, and Whistler Ensemble Indiginus Resonator, Lap Steel, Mountain Dulcimer, Delta Blues Acoustic Slide Guitar (never on sale) AAS soundbanks <- completed my collection. I know there is probably a free one coming but it only cost me $4. Xperimenta Harpsichord, Kantele, Xvibe, and Psaltery Renewed subscription to Taxi.com Pianotekk C-series piano Orchestration Recipes 1 & 2 IK Total Studio 3.5 Max

    Mix Checker Pro

I thought ARC came with emulations of various playback systems. If so then yes, MixChecker would be redundant.
  17. Well, drat. I was hoping for an extra 10% off for Cyber Monday before I sprang for the $330 Pro upgrade.
  18. This is an EDM style clapper. Not human hands clapping.
  19. Folk Fiddle 2 came out at the same time as Indiginus' The Fiddle. So I got them both and tested them. They both have a great "folk" sound but I couldn't get the Insanity Samples' fiddle to work well in a fast bluegrass tune because it's scoop articulation is too slow and it can't be adjusted. This forced me to use the pitch wheel which sounds too artificial for me. Other than that, Folk Fiddle 2 sounds great. It could be very useful for moderate to slow tunes.
  20. Kevin, thanks for that video. Did you pay the $200 for the SSD drive or are you still downloading the +600GB product?
