  1. What's its SDX counterpart?
  2. Not exactly what I was talking about. If you buy cabs from Two Notes, each cab checks your license with TN online services. This slows things down noticeably and proved to be somewhat buggy.
  3. It works. Kind of. But navigating user IRs is such a PITA, I gave up using WoS for this. And if you consider buying IRs form them keep in mind that the more licenses you buy, the slower the plugin becomes. To the point it starts crashing your DAW in the middle of the recording/mixing process.
  4. Audified's take on EZMix approach? EZM always bugged me with too many presets while this on looks a bit more useful. Audified is also known for high quality algorithms. Gotta give a try.
  5. It's a great scratchpad if you need one. Instruments are nice sounding (sampled, think Xpand2), the workflow is very intuitive. No ASIO support, AFAIC, but still works fine with WDM. I got it bundled with M-Audio keys, so I didn't have to pay for it.
  6. Although I didn't really NEED it I still couldn't pass it by at this price. Survey voucher's gone. Works great for any mic'ed source. Vocals, drums, acoustic instruments sound awesome and it's easier to dial in the right tone with this plugin than the full blown channel strip or a chain of your favorite effects.
  7. This one is no different. Veeeeery CPU inefficient, with a rather questionable UI and poorly designed functionality. I just hope the developer will fix it in not so distant future.
  8. Same here. Although this amp sim aims to be kind of meat and potato thing, other amp sims provide extra goodies like pitch shifting, acoustic sims, tremolo, you name it. The downside of such one trick pony kind of plugins is that you can't (or won't) use it for roots music, acoustic guitar, bass and creative effects. Lack of all such use cases doesn't help to justify the price tag, IMO.
  9. I've been eyeing this for a while, but after buying Focusrite and Lindell Neve consoles can't see myself using this plugin. Any recommendations?
  10. I see what you mean. It's basically the same product with a different color scheme.
  11. Too bad the Ruble has collapsed again. Now the prices are way beyond reasonable for me.
  12. The new interface is mind boggling! It was supposed to be simpler and easier than that of ST3, but if all our plans would come true life wouldn't be exciting.
  13. Arguably, the best guitar delay in plugin format.
  14. Nice plugin, slightly better than the original SSL 4kE by Waves. Yet no solo/mute/pan functionality ruins the idea to have console style workflow.
  15. What? Black Summer? What planet are they from?
  16. I'm quite disappointed with IS Shreddage 3 products. I couldn't make it sound close enough to the real thing.

    SSD 5

The UX is a disaster. Yes, I'm aware of this. Other than that, do you think SSD can compete with Toontrack Drummers?
  18. AFAIK, up to 8 reference tracks, synced with your project, better meters.

    SSD 5

Ouch! I's gonna ask whether it's worth to invest into SSD5. I've heard people say good things about SSD, particularly that these drum libraries sit well in the mix and don't require tweaking (well, almost).
  20. Currently checking SeaCow's free IRs. https://seacowcabs.wordpress.com/ Gotta say, I'm impressed at their quality.
  21. Alas, my friend, can't do this. The demo period had expired long ago. Still thanks for your input, good to know this doesn't happen to everyone.
  22. To me rectifying diodes and corresponding capacitors are no mystery. Only one thing that really bugs me about labels - shouldn't microfarads be labeled with u, e.g., 1uF, 2uF, etc.? 1mF is perceived as 1 millifarad. Other than that, this compressor is the best I've heard in PA range. During the last sale I was on the fence of buying Elysia Alpha Comp, but came across this video and changed my mind.
  23. His name is Robert Paulson Craig. Although I think sustaining feedback is cool and fun, I never really needed it on stage or in the studio. What do you use it for? Do you write music/licks for this effect, like Steve Vai does, or do you use it occasionally?
  24. I suspect, the Magnificent CA is behind this product conception and development.
