  1. The man went all the way from selling BSIAB clones to the software plugins. How cool is that! Kudos to Brian!
  2. I assume you use auto gain input and output adjustment knobs to set your levels right. There is also a setting for you pickup output. If you set it correctly, you'll get the most natural responce from this amp sim. For reference on pickup output voltage use DiMarzio pickup catalog.
  3. MEGA Bundle - Forever License would be sweet...
  4. I'm not in the mood for buying software products these days, but this comp is worth $15 for sure.
  5. They are very good, if you are OK with the baked-in cab/mic setup.
  6. I'm not into metal head-banging thing, maybe that's why GR5 version of this amp is still the best for me. Even though demos of this plugin remind me of the raw, brutal roar of the 5150 head. Never liked it anyway.
  7. You wear it on your wrist, right? Wonder, what we'll have to wear on our foreheads in not so distant future.
  8. Same here, although v2 works fine in Reaper.
  9. I always liked his amp sims. Now I tried his keys and let me tell you, this man has really got a good ear! I love the sound of this instrument, particularly, Rhodes and Clavinet libs.
  10. So far I only demoed the TrainWreck knock-off sim and really like. 10 out of 10 in my book.
  11. Interesting indeed! Eventide style chorusing is what I love using for guitar tones, clean and lead alike.

    Ampeg or not Ampeg

I find this is true not only for bass amps, but other studio processors like comps and EQs. Although better is subjective, as IK plugins still sound awesome.
  13. Haha! No matter how many people dislike these amp sims, tone like this inspires me to play for hours and hours. The only thing that turns me off is the intro price. I'll wait for a sale and get these ASAP.
  14. Great sounding demos! Will keep an eye on these.
  15. Great sounding classical guitar is what I need/want ATM. Too bad, we can't do the shopping off-line. Gotta stay home and wait to see what the future holds.
  16. They've had this tempo adjustment for quite some time. Not really sure when it was introduced first, but it's definitely not new. The track is, the functionality isn't. They should've fixed/revamped their AQ feature, as it's barely useable.
  17. Looks very promising. Might be the best software bass instrument to ever hit the market. Wonder if they have EZBrass and EZStrings in the pipeline.
  18. LOL! Not that great as it used to be. 10 years ago it was very easy to work with. It would run effortlessly on my laptop. I had high hopes for X3, but was bitterly disappointed with no modern UI/UX updates and too many bugs like constant drop outs and frequent crashes. The only benefit was getting the suite with full Independence and SpectraLayers Pro. X4 and X5 don't bring anything worth paying for. I'm with Bapu on this one.
  19. Right! Committing changes is a tough thing to learn. I've seen an interview with Eddie Kramer, where he mentioned this as a necessity of 70s' studio workflow. Got me thinking that revisiting and readjusting processing isn't always a great idea. I'm yet to start exporting stems for mixing, though.
  20. 6 strings: instant results; 6 - 1 = half a year. 6 - k = (half a year)*k, k∈[1,6) See what I did here?
  21. I didn't get the joke, so I'll reply to this as is. Switching from normal 6-string guitar to 5-string bass was quite a challenge indeed. Took me about half a year to fully embrace the extended lower range, particularly the extra bottom string.
  22. If I already have ARC2.5, is the new mic a lot better or should I keep the mic and just upgrade the software?
  23. Well, technically speaking, any amplifying cascade can be called an "amp". I'm talking about power amp circuit emulation which isn't there. There shouldn't be one at least for Engl e530, because it is a preamp by design. Other "amps" may or may not have it. It seems like they don't either. I couldn't hear or measure its impact, although I tried hard.
  24. Nice collection of sound I actually never use. Time to stop collecting, not! Putler government style.
