Did they get back to you on the MPE/Ableton issue?
They got back to me (I just noticed, been a busy week)...

    Per Tracktion:
It turns out there is an extra step in Ableton required for external plugins (setting shown below) - then the MPE data gets sent as expected and it receives pressure per note as channel pressure (as well as per channel bends and Y-axis/slide data):

Thanks. No, I haven't been able to submit a ticket due to work demands.

I know that primary step in Ableton as it applies to all MPE instruments, but even if you go into the note input node in Hyperion and enable MPE (which you have to do manually per patch), it still requires you to reset it for each individual  patch  when navigating between them, whether or not the plug-specific MPE permission has been enabled in Ableton.

I did buy it anyway because it sounds great and I hope it will grow, or perhaps my skills/understanding will. Or both.

Bad comparison. The reason is unimportant. I didn’t hear you making claims about why Gibson caused all this.

The point is that the original company is gone along with any obligations THEY had to you.

This is a new company who’s so far I’ve only given you things for free  yet you complain when they ask for some recompense

Haven't used Cakewalk since the lifetime debacle, because it made me irate and Bandlab has left a bunch of the Cakewalk IP to rot. Bandlab hasn't given me a thing.

    Cheers.

When you buy a lifetime subscription, you're actually paying for the lifetime of that business, not your lifetime. Lifetime software deals are pretty well known to be pretty risky. You don't see too many smooth sailing software companies offering lifetime deals, so it can serve as a kind of red flag that a company is in desperate need of money. But there are no guarantees that any software company -- or any other company -- is going to be around for the next x many years. So if you do a ten year update deal or a lifetime deal, that is the risk any reasonable person needs to keep in mind.

The company that you paid that money to is not Bandlab and Bandlab has no obligation -- legally or ethically -- to give you free product. I think most of us know what it's like to see a company fold that we've bought from. I've bought products with warranties shortly before companies have gone out of business. I've had customers go out of business before paying their bills. It happens. I wouldn't hold it against Bandlab; they had nothing to do with it. It's not reasonable to blame them and it's also pointless. If you're bitter, and you've already expressed that you are, do yourself a favor and vent over it and move on. If seeing the word "Sonar" triggers bad memories, just use something else and be done with it.  I'm not saying that to be dismissive. I think it's clearly going to be a healthier choice for you.

My statements are not about attempting enforcement of the agreement or some such thing; just about the right thing to do.  I'm a legal professional and have a handle on the contractual bit, even if my bravado/snarkiness may obscure that.

I have long since moved on from Cakewalk since the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth, but  a bit of good-will and client-relations reparations could go a long way to changing my mind.

    As you were.

I wish as I too bought it, but don't hold your breath. That was a product from a different company and has already long passed.

But they might offer "upgrade/crossgrade" prices for those of us who own Sonar? One can dream, yes?

Not seeing another penny from me unless they make good on basic Platinum lifetime access first. It's the right thing to do if they want to keep good-will. I don't recall what I paid for being in any way contingent on Gibson existing as parent.

I totally agree. I opened a support ticket on this and suggest other do the same. Since MPE was added a couple of versions ago to Hyperion getting this issue fixed obviously hasn't been a high priority.  (Per manual  "V1.27 of Hyperion now includes MPE compatibility per synth layer" - we're on v1.40 now)

I’ll open one too, despite being a demo user.

    I'm not using the demo.

Out of the patches I randomly sampled - looks like all included patches are MPE ready but none seemed to have it in any way enabled.
In the browser the MPE patch filter is locked on and does nothing - to me this looks like a bug.

Thanks. That was my experience. A rather disappointing oversight. This makes one lose audio when navigating between patches in Ableton if MPE is enabled for Hyperion in the DAW.

Tell me what you think, anxious one.

Will do after a bit more time. On first blush, worth 9 bucks but not sure I'd be thrilled for 29 plus. That said, I've barely begun and the real fun of Unify is combinations, effects routing and all that good stuff.

Skippy sent a email saying that the holes were plugged. i.e. one use and can't be used for String Theory.

Still works on String Theory here. I just checked again.

Yan i own the xils 505 and V+ witch are sonically a pure beauty but i was considering those string mlachine from east west if it's a way to get opus , is that the case (you get full opus player with this purchase ) ?

You do and I'm considering it for the same reason. Although I'm wondering if I could get Opus a little cheaper by upgrading my SD2 to Pro.
