  1. As a sound designer and producer of ambient music I see a lot of peeps sprouting this A=432 stuff. Personally, I have never bought into that and I just don't get it. And, at first, watching Neely's video I was thinking, "oh no! Not Neely too!" I respect the guy a lot and this video, up to 1:47, was putting that to question. Some interesting historical stuff in that video although it didn't really help to broaden my "musical" skills...
  2. Excellent, @panup I should have also said that on the odd occasion where I went from two monitors to just one, back in the XP days, I invariably had to do that thing when whole applications would open on the other screen, which wasn't even plugged in. Glad it worked in this instance
  3. Has anyone actually watched the video I posted? All the way through?
  4. Yeah, good call that... It's what I do if I get a bit "peckish" in between meals.
  5. Hi Panup, Might sound a bit daft this but when this has happened to me in the past I set the screen resolution a bit lower and anything that may have been outside the screen area pops back. No idea why that works, and it may not work for you, but it might be worth a try. cheers andy
  6. Hmmm... A daft one, I guess, but my own personal method of dealing with this is an hour after having my last meal of the day I clean my teeth. That kinda draws a line under my food intake for the day. Ain't gonna work of everyone, or anyone but me, but work it does. And the reason for that, more so in the last couple of months, is I ended up with gingivitis and, according to my dentist, the main reason for that was because I was snacking in between meals. I'm on top of of the gingivitis now but only because I have pretty much stopped "inter meal snacking." apologies if that is considered TMI...
  7. I read the article and can't make my mind up if this is serious or not. Then I scrolled to the bottom and saw this:-
  8. I can't help you myself as I do not have Roland Groovesynth. However, in order for others to help you it would be good if you could provide details of your complete setup. cheers andy
  9. Okay, not a deal. But having plunged into the NOIRE deep end yesterday I wanted to share:- https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/keys/noire/ I fancied something "better" in terms of a piano VST. I looked into the physical modelling option, Pianoteq and, after a bit of research decided that it wasn't for me. I then started to look more into "library" options. I've stayed away from sample libraries for so long. Well, not entirely true because I own and use Battery. It seems, though, if you want something that sounds pretty authentic then samples libraries are the way to go, especially for something like grand piano. At least in my opinion, I hasten to add. To cut a long story not quite so long, I was looking at the piano day sale offerings on the NI site and, as you scroll down to the bottom of the page, there it is, NOIRE, sneakily added so as to entice you in, and it did, hook, line and sinker. Anyway, piano library peeps, have a look at the vids and write-ups, let me know what you think cheers andy
  10. Difficult to say without seeing your project and the event list showing the order in which you select banks and patches. Also, I don't have a Kronos so I am not familiar with its multi timbral setup. Normally, each multi timbral "channel" or track will expect a patch change to go out on the MIDI channel assigned to that track. For instance, I have a Novation Nova, which is six part multi timbral. I first have to select a particular "performance" which is set up to be in multi timbral mode. I send that selection on MIDI channel 7. Then for each "program" (or part) I send a PC on MIDI channel 1 for part one, MIDI channel 2 for part two and so on. And it is most important that the program change message is sent after the performance change message, and not at the same time. What can happen is that a program can be selected correctly, only to be over-ridden with a performance change, which reverts to a default program for that channel. But that is just the way the NOVA is set up. Unfortunately, although there is a MIDI standard, each vendor has its own way of implementing that standard. So a "program" on the NOVA might be called a "patch" on a JP-8000. Sorry if this isn't much of a help. Hopefully someone does have a Kronos on this forum. If not, I know someone with a Kronos on another forum and I could pose this question to him and see if he can help.
  11. My KRK KNS-8400 headphones are not too bad. http://www.krksys.com/Headphones/KNS-8400 I used to have some BD DT 250 headphones but they started to crackle a bit so I gave em to me lad. He's still using them. https://europe.beyerdynamic.com/dt-250.html Both appear to be still available, which says much I think. And both well under your budget, Mesh. Might be too cheap, perhaps...
  12. Mmmm... Had fish finger butties for tea With a tin of mushy peas and some tartare sauce... We know how to live it up!
  13. Yeah, @abacab and @scook, but can you confirm what I said above:-
  14. Ooops... Just spotted that you need full Kontakt for the TFO stuff. Oh well, that ain't ever going to happen...
  15. I must admit that I am not a "samples" person but I have just installed Kontakt Player so I can have a bash at some of their free packs
  16. My mate did a great eulogy at his mum's funeral yesterday.
  17. Perhaps we should consider not using double, treble, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, heptuple, octuple posts when racing for the TOTP? Or is that me just being bitter?
