  1. I don’t need to block people. That is soooo mean girls lol. How do you know it’s bs unless you have first hand experience? Also, I’m not the only one saying this. Seems kind of trolling. And mean.
  2. I think I’m the weirdo, gothic-ey one, in this scenario. but she has the heart of gold, lol. The issue of disk swapping has come up over this. In some forum, review , or video, someone calculated that it would take ten years for them to die. Unknown for now, of course, but I wouldn’t worry about that. And the 16gb machine swaps just as much. Maybe a few hairs less, from what I’ve read. No first hand experience with a 16gb one.
  3. You don’t have an m1 or have ever tested one, correct? So then what are you really contributing, other than attacking me? I have first hand experience. Try it and then come back and be as mean girls as you want. But you know, in that movie, the mean girls didn’t win, lol.
  4. You are assuming that 8gb isn’t enough. Till you try it, and I have, you won’t really know. And the misinformation part is saying that an 8gb m1 won’t be able to load more than or just one instance of grandeur. It certainly will and much more. They disk swap like crazy. During my testing, I never went over 7gb. It was odd, but, again,a different architecture
  5. I do not blame you for being skeptical. It’s amazing and impressive results. I didn’t document my results because I didn’t know that seven months later I’d be attacked, lol. But there are many, many videos and reviews out there that confirm what I’ve been saying. Myself, I will get a 16 gb machine. Just for future proofing and I may want to get into video. But I would have been more than fine with 8gb for all that I do or could foreseeably be wanting to do in the near future.
  6. Well, pricey is relative. To me, with the M1, they are a bargain. Other than the ram and hd, of course. But you get a beautiful screen, excellent build and top of the line components. I actually used to agree that macs where at overpriced and underpowered. I’ve always built my own or bought pc laptops. I have many. I’ve actually been building computers since 2000.
  7. I wouldn’t boast about your comprehension skills just yet. He tested a 16gb ram one and I’m talking about an8gb one. I am right, regardless if it hurts some of your feelings that I corrected these claims.
  8. Glad you approve. Have you tried an 8gb m1 Mac? If not then it’s you trolling with nothing to add. Come on lads. Test it!
  9. I returned it because I wanted a 16 inch. And I though the new version would be released in March. Then I waited till June. Now I have to wait till November hopefully. I don’t remember what exact vst I used. But the kontakt stuff was orange tree guitars and the stuff included in komplete 11. Plug ins where mostly divas it’s some plug in alliance and a few others. If you are considering one, depending on your needs, an 8gb model should be more than fine, if one is trying to avoid the apple tax.
  10. You realize that quoting me and replying as you have, is also snarky? What a bunch of snarky dudes. Me included, lol
  11. Try it with an 8gb m1 machine. You will see all I’m saying is true. Or make your snarky 12 y/o mean girls comments lol. I know because I’ve used it. first hand. Until one of you, even the expert, does that, then you are all speculating., and actually spreading false info. geez.
  12. Try it on an 8gb m1 Mac like I did. I actually have first hand experience with an 8gb machine. Seems like none of you, even the expert, gave that experience.
  13. Not if he’s making that claim. One instance of grandeur will not use 8gb of ram on an m1. I think he’s assuming based on x86 architecture.
  14. Sorry, I no longer have an m1. Returned it. Waiting for the new versions. And I also don’t have that software. I don’t remember the specifics of my testing, but I have kontakt and diva and a bunch of other plug ins. I purposely tested the ram by loading line 20 kontakt instances. Strings, horns, guitars, piano, vocals, battery, session drummer…all ran fine. This was on top of over a hundred tracks. diva, and a bunch of other plug ins. Also threw a bunch of fx on each track. Oh and it was 96khz,64 buffer. Uad interface. All silent and barely warm. I finally got it to crack when I also had a video editing program open and a few safari tabs. It is an impressive machine. Leaves intel and amd in the Stone Age.
  15. Not necessarily. Depends on use, of course and It’s a different architecture. Can’t apply x86 rules. 16gb is better for future proofing, or video editing. But I was amazed at how much you can do with 8gb. I had to really create insane projects and push it in ways I wouldn’t normally. Watch the videos. It’s been out for 7 months now. Lots of info out there already.
  16. This is incorrect with an m1. You really should test one yourself before you go spreading false information. M1 can easily handle the grandure and way more.
  17. proof is in the pudding. watch the videos. they use the ssd to cache a lot more than x86. so that makes up for the low ram. Still, i would get 16gb myself. for future proofing. So im not arguing for 8gb. im just saying it is enough, surprisingly. Amazing machines. Having had an 8gb one myself, I can say that I was difficult to make it crack. only after insane amounts of ez drummer, kontakt, diva, etc.., plus having video editing program open and a bunch of safari tabs. anything I could think of to try to make it crack. I purposely tried to use up ram as much as possible to see if 8gb was enough. And it was! And yes, Air are passive and Pro have fans. But, in the videos, even the passive performed spectacularly. Like I said, apple did it right this time. They deserve credit for finally ending the high performance=high heat and power draw of intel and AMD chips. I am looking forward to what apple brings next.
  18. there are lots of videos that prove that 8 gb is plenty enough on an M1 mac. They use the very fast ssd as a sort of ram. Its a different architecture than x86. Like I said, it changes all the laptop facts we all assumed where set in stone. BTW, the M1 macbook pro has a fan. I barely heard it come on when i was super stress testing it. and it was really quite. i had to put my ear right up to it to hear anything. Check out the videos. m1 macbook 8gb daw - YouTube MacBook Pro M1 2021 8GB vs 16GB? Memory for Music Production - YouTube
  19. I had an m1 MacBook Pro . I got 8 gab ram, 256 hd . I was surprised, but the 8gb ram was no issues at all. The 256 hd is barely enough, but will do. external hd are not that expensive and fast. I stress tested it with ridiculous amounts of plugs ins and Kontakt. As well as diva and a variety of vst instruments. Even a bunch of safari tbs and other organs open. What an amazing machine. It changed the way I use laptops. We are used to accepting the fact that if you actually use your laptop for real work, it will drain the battery and get super loud and hot. Not with an m1 Mac. You can run the denses project and it will keep up, no problem. With it silent and barely warm at all. Work on real projects anywhere. I returned it because I’m waiting for the next version and I want a 16 inch screen. Was hoping it would be release soon but looks like we have to wait till at least November. Apple really hit it out of the park this time. It used to be that they where underpowered and overpriced. They are still expensive, but they deliver on the power. Intel and AMD are way behind now.
  20. going off this post: Seems like this was done on purpose. really terrible idea for a pro product. If no one has an issue with it, or not enough people, then it seems like they will stick with this. Hence my suggestion for more people to let them know that needing to be online is just crazy.
  21. so it seems, from reading the the links posted, that the need to be on the internet to use the program is intended. I've never owned software that was only able to be used if one was online. That's kind of absurd. And actually renders this software useless to me, as I want to use it in live settings. No internet at a gig. Maybe some random hotspot. But that's ridiculous. Especially for a pro product like this. Can you imagine having to explain to the band that the reason you cant play drums is cause your cant get a wifi signal? Definitely takes the shine off this bargain. I opened a support ticket requesting offline authorization, but haven't heard anything. Maybe if enough people complain about this, they will back down from this.
  22. same issue here. what a bummer. i dont want to have to be online to use the software. thats crazy. When I tried to authorize offline, its not possible. Reading all the documentation points to a work off line button. however, that button does not exist. I see no other way to authorize offline. bummer. Sounds great though and im happy to have it for so cheap. But this part sucks. what are they thinking?
  23. this is a no brainer for sure! Ive wanted to get bfd3, but I didnt want to spend $300 for it. I've had BFD eco for many years, but dont use it. I think I got it for $20 or something very low. So, for only $50, you get BFD3 and $384 worth of additional packs. That's a pretty good deal! You have to jump through a few hoops, but not too bad. Thanks to the info already provided on this thread, I was able to get it all going relatively ez.

Thank you for checking it out. Appreciate it. I love me some prog myself. Thanks for the advice. I do think the keys are a little static. So I think you are right in what you are feeling there. I'll keep working on it. :)
