  1. I have Cakewalk by BandLab running on my computer. I have a limited number of USB ports and sometimes I need to switch out my MIDI keyboard controller for my USB microphone. When I unplug one of them from the USB jack Cakewalk displays a Yes/No dialog box that says: "The above Audio/MIDI device was disconnected from your system. Would You like Cakewalk to reroute these outputs to an available device?" I don't know whether to click Yes or No. Also, when I start Cakewalk now it usually detects that one or the other is missing and it displays another dialog asking: "Disable or Use Anyway" I haven't got a clue. (Sounds like a good title for a song.) LOL. Usually I have to re-run the Audio Wave Profiler to get things working after I have re-connected a USB device. Sometimes I have to shut down Cakewalk and re-start it. Is there a more efficient way to do this USB Dance? Thanks, Steve
  2. scook Thank you very much. The first few times I tried it didn't work like I wanted. Then I read your instructions again and I realized that I had left out step 1. Doh! When I followed your instructions correctly it set up the new project folders and project file like I wanted. Thanks again, Steve
  3. Mark Thanks for the response. I just tried Save Copy As and the "Copy all audio with project" option was checked but it did not prompt me to create the new project / audio directories. I checked the file folders and all it did was create a new .cwp file with the new name. Any idea what I'm missing? Steve
  4. I created a song in a Cakewalk project. When it was saved it created its own set of folders and files. Now I want to create a new song based on the first song in its own folder and files. I don't want to have to copy and paste tracks and clips from one project to the other. I see there is File -> Save Copy As... but I don't think that will create the folders and files in a new name. How can I do this easily? I bet there is an easy way. Thanks, Steve
  5. Kuusniemi Thanks for the reply. Indiginus looks like it's plenty powerful for me, but it says it requires the full retail Kontakt and won't work with Kontakt Player. Evolution Strawberry, I think, works with Kontakt Player so it may be no more expensive than going the other route. So I will probably go with Evolution Strawberry since it does seem very powerful and their customer support has been working hard to answer my questions. The price isn't a deal breaker for me. It's been more a question of whether my i5 processor is strong enough to handle it. I've been trying out Cakewalk and Kontakt on my laptop and so far haven't had any latency problems so hopefully I won't be disappointed. Steve
  6. I'm considering buying Evolution Strawberry to use for guitar sounds in Cakewalk by BandLab. It looks like it does everything I could want, but it is a little expensive. Do you recommend some other software of similar features?
