For me, it keeps trying to install the iLok helper software but fails every time so I can't actually use Softube Central anymore. WTF.

I had a similar issue where it wouldn't connect to the iLok server. I did a force quit on the Softube installer then loaded it up again. It is working normally now. Maybe it could fix your issue as well.

  2. Yeah, I asked them about that because it's really annoying. Especially since the Plugin Boutique installer can't be hidden automatically in the background, keeps logging you out, and requires a captcha to get back into it.

Since it's a purchased plugin (not a subscription), I didn't like that it had to be activated through PIB constantly to work. They sent me a file that doesn't need their authorizer to run.

I don't think I'm the only one with that issue because I noticed that they recently updated the product page to address it and they say they're working on a new solution (or something like that).

  3. I love it. Even if just for the free sounds (you get 10 a day on the Artist plan and more on the more expensive plans). I like that if you stop your account, you don't lose your points. They're frozen so you can't use them but when you sign up again you can continue where you left off. Plus, recently they've often had a free plugin for current users (it was monthly for a little while but no updates recently - hopefully they start doing that again, too.)

There are tons of sounds for pretty well every style of music.

I don't use their plugins (DRUM, PLAY, etc.) but they seem interesting.

As for the price, they do the 50% off once in a while but the annual plan doesn't usually go cheaper than that. You can sometimes get a month for $1 but for the annual plans, this price is generally as low as it goes (at least in the past). You can sometimes get the discount on Plugin Boutique (and get a free plugin with purchase) but it doesn't look like it's there this time - seems to be at the regular price.

And look at SONiVOX's Big Bang Cinematic Percussion. There's a huge bug--they've known about it for almost a decade and won't fix it.

Do you mean the crash on MIDI input? If so, it's been fixed! I can't remember if I got the update from the Sonivox website or Plugin Boutique but it worked! So much nicer now!

standalone version that can be setup to roundtrip in resolve

What does this mean? I've been using Davinci Resolve a lot with my regular music plugins but I'm wondering what the roundtrip thing is. Maybe I could be using them even more than I thought!

Not sure what your "my DAW" is, but selecting "Update Plug-in List" in Studio One (forces a re-scan of the Wave Shells at DAW start-up).

That did the trick for me in Studio One. The updated v14 Wave Shells were not automatically scanned at startup until I did this.

Cakewalk had no issues with the updated plug-ins, as it always seems to check the Wave Shells. But in Reaper VST preferences I had to "Clear Cache and Re-scan" to get v14 working.

If it's Ableton, holding down cmd (or alt on Windows) when you click rescan in the plugin preferences will do a full scan.
