    HATE

First of all my apologies for taking so long to respond.  Sometimes life has the nasty habit of interfering with the things that I would rather be doing - like music, the Forum, fishing, etc.

Hi Jack C.   Thanks for the input!   Your suggestions are appreciated and when I can get to a re-do, I'll try and address the guitar suggestion.

Hi KSband.  Thanks for listening and for the kind words!  I appreciate it.

SupaReels.  Wow. I'm very glad that you liked it .  Thanks for the very kind words --- very much appreciated!!

Hey tom.  Thank you very much!!  Coming from a pro such as you, I very much appreciate your input, suggestions and encouragement.  I'm very glad that you liked it!!

Hey Jesse.  Thanks for the encouraging words (both posts). I appreciate it very much.  I tried listening to your post "Banker Man" but the link took me to a SoundClick page that I have never been before.  I tried a search and still could not find the song.   The lyrics are absoflippinlutely great.  They tell a great story and present a piece of history.   But I need to, I want to I must hear the whole package?  Help.

  1. Hey Jesse --- I tried the link and it took me to some page in SoundClick but no matter what I did I could not find the song.  I  absoflipinlutely love the lyrics.  They tell a great story and present history.  I would love to hear the entire package though.  Must be the new search system that SoundClick put up.

This is a bit different style of music than my usual posts - but- every once in a while you gotta try something different   ----- don't you?  This song presents a dark bit of social observation.  Hopefully, it also has a bit of encouragement that is not too preachy.  It also might be appropriate for our chaotic world situation.  It is not intended to be political or present any particular political position!  It simply ask that we just examine how we treat each other.

OK, now that my disclaimer is done --- I would very much appreciate any comments, Crit.'s, suggestions, etc.  I do have a concern that the lead guitar might be competing too much with the lead vocal.

    Thanks  in advance for listening!

  2. I was unable to listen --- a have a notebook full of passwords and unfortunately did not have it with me when I listened.  I will when I get home.

BTW, have you contacted YouTube concerning this?  I have previously received a notice that one of my submissions( Silly Old Men) was removed as it encouraged hate and war.  I disputed it and sent in the lyrics.  This was followed up by a nice notice, by them, that they had reviewed the lyrics and video and were putting it back up on the website.  They must have AI and arrays that blindly search for key words and phases and determine the actions to be taken.

  3. You are really pumping out a wide range of interesting songs.  As stated above, this is a harmonically complex tune -- which you pulled off very well.  It is always a treat to listen to your posts,

    .

  4. I wasn't familiar with this song, until I heard this post.  It is indeed a beautiful song.  I thing that you have an excellent job in interpreting and presenting this song.  Wonderful work!!!

  5. Hey Bapu!  Thanks very much --- much appreciated!  BTW, I enjoyed your last post with Daryl and the gang!  Cool stuff!!!

Hey Old Joad.  I started with Amplitude 3 and it seems to have improved every time it has up graded.  I share your enthusiasm for the Bassman.  Thanks again for your input!!

  6. Hey Steve.  Back when I was a wee bit of a pre-teen and at the time living in Ontario, Canada -- I happened upon a 50,000 Watt radio station.  It was the famous or infamous WLAC station out of Nashville, Tennessee.  At night the DJ's (John R  and Big Hugh Baby) played nothing but R&B and the Blues.  Once I heard Jimmy Reed I was hooked.  Hence, every once in a while I go back in the alley and try to reproduce the sound.  Thanks very much for commenting and I'm very glad that you liked it!

Hi Rik.  Every once in a while (don't know why), I like to intro a song with a count-in (drummers sticks).  Unfortunately and apparently, not all of the count-in made it in the posting.  What you were hearing was half of the count with a much reduced volume.  Apparently, the rest of the song also lost volume.  Thanks for listening and for the insights!

Thank you Nigel.  It took a lot of tries but I think that I got close with that early amp gravelly, growly, overdriven sound.  I always value your input.  Thanks for listening and your kind comments.

Hey Wookie.  Thanks very much for listening, commenting and for the like!!  BTW, I really enjoyed your recent post!!

  7. This sounds like a mix of the Blues and cool jazz.  It really sounds great.  It has a bit of a relaxed, slinky feel to it.  The guitar playing sounds very good but I particularly

    like that one panned left.

    Great stuff!!!

  8. Great music and great video - and - they compliment each other perfectly.  I did recoil a bit when I saw the  slide ruler.  It is one of the reasons that I transferred from the engineering program to Biology/Ecology program.  Fortunately (for me) computers came along to rescue me from any more slide rulers.

    Terrific work!

  9. Well that was very interesting --- in a very positive way.  I did shut my eyes and let the music flow. The introductory droning was almost like a meditation mantra and for me was very relaxing.  I appreciate that there was a slow build up toward the "Berlin school"ending.  The build up allowed me to comfortably come back to reality.

You did indeed use some "real cool tones.

    Well done and excellent job!

  10. Hey tom.  Thanks very much for the kind words and encouragement.  I got a real kick out of the videos (2 snaps and an around the world for that)! Thanks again.

Thank you Steve.  I'm glad that you liked it.  I was having a lot of fun doing this song and I was hoping that it would spill over.

  11. A fun and interesting song with some great lyrics (you know your always right when you wear the emperor's clothes  -- love that phrase).  I echo the comments above as it does sound a bit busy to my tired old ears.  A little clean-up and you have a good one here!

  12. This is a great guitar driven rocker (spiked with a bit of the Blues/Boogie).  You make the Strat and Tele sound good!  I particularly like the sound of that one panned left.  Your playing is excellent!  Great work on the bass line as well as the vocals.

  13. Hi Old Joad.  Thanks very much for listening.  You got the call on the amp right.  If I remember correctly,  I used the Amplitude 5 Bassman amp plugin along with my beat up Norma semi-hollow body guitar with the rusty pickups.  I'm getting closer to the sound of that era - now I just have to work on the style (love that style love that sound).  I was going for that rough, loose sound that you might hear in the clubs of that era  --- especially those on the Chitlin Circuit, like right here in Tampa's Central Ave.  Thanks again.

Hi Jack.  Thanks for listening and commenting.  Much appreciated.

Hi Lynn.  You are much to kind but the encouragement is much appreciated.  Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment my friend.

Thank you Daryl1968.  The vocals were pre-Covid.  My tired old vocal chords are finally starting to return from the CoVid experience.  Thanks again for listening and commenting.
