  1. This is terrific! I had to go to Youtube to hear the original after hearing your version, and I'm very impressed how closely you came to the original. A+
  2. Paul, thanks for the kind words and your time! I'm like a box of Crackerjacks in that way
  3. Steve, it's good to hear your haunting voice and great lyrics! I absolutely love this song and will be listening to it some more. Sometimes your voice reminds me of Paul Simon, and this is one of those times. Wow!
  4. Your songs and mixes are some of the very best I've heard in a while. It's as if the Jefferson Airplane landed in the 21st century, but better! Keep inspiring us!
  5. Michael, your production has steadily gotten beefier over the years, which complements your style of writing. I don't know about the kick (sounds good here), but I agree that the ending could use some love. All in all, a good, solid rock song regardless of genre.
  6. Tom, I appreciate your comments and time. I did remix this just now, and I put the guitar at 50% L and the piano at 50% R to give each channel some balance of energy. I also turned the vocal compressor down for a bit more clarity (I hope). I find all the comments helpful, especially because my ears aren't as sharp as they used to be.
  7. Hi Tom, thanks for replying! I just began wondering about the vocal compression, too. I think I need to turn down the compressor a bit, and maybe the bass and piano, too. Bjorn, thanks for your kind words! Back story: I have some millennial friends that are suffering in isolation, and this song arose from their difficulties in coping with being in lockdown. Much to write about these days.
  8. Freddy, thanks a million! Your words mean a lot to me and are very welcome. Of course, I'll be going back and forth, listening to this every which way, but I'm glad you understand.
  9. Mark, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment! I love your work. Mahavishnu, I remember hearing an orchestra by that name in the 70's. After hearing your stellar work, I'm pleased to hear your comment. I guess I just like to take advantage of stereo like they did in the day when it was new. I'm always looking for a cure
  10. Thank you, Douglas! You're not alone about the guitar panning. Thanks, Wookie! There seems to be a consensus about the guitar panning. It's not so unusual if you've heard "Sunshine Of Your Love" by Cream
  11. Hi Michael, it's good to hear from you. Thanks for your kind response, especially about the lyrics! I know what you mean about the guitar solos being off to the side, but I was looking for separation from the keyboards, so there they are. It's not set in stone so thanks for your observation, who knows where it will end up.
  12. Hello to all my friends! Hope you're all staying healthy and putting your time to good use. Here's my latest opus on the Coronavirus, done with the help of my good friend Roger Fife on bass. It's still very new, so I'm open to all suggestions. As always, thanks for your help and observations. It can be found here: https://soundclick.com/r/s8d34x Remixed 6/12/20: Moved guitar from 70L to 50L, and moved piano from 30R to 50R. I also lowered the volume on the bass a bit.
  13. Bravo, that was a quick learn. You did an excellent job on the mix and created something that I'll listen to again. Keep posting!
  14. Mark, this is a fabulous song that seems to transcend Nashville. It could stand as is, or be a starting point. Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing!
  15. I've always liked the way you leave it all out there, and this song does that in spades! I've not heard a song from you that I don't like, so you're on to something. Keep up with the raw energy and passion, I think it's your trademark.
  16. Outstanding! I was mesmerized, as I always am by your offerings. Your skills and taste are beyond reproach, and you raise the bar yet again. Can't wait to listen again.
  17. What they ALL said and more! A great paradigm for all of us.
  18. What the? That not only was short, but sweet, as well.
  19. Philip, this is a pleasant surprise! I love the song and think that it's close to being stellar. The sparseness works well to highlight your voice, as does your hard panning which allows for plenty of space. I think you might have some options in that regard, but that's just a niggle. I wonder if some mandolin might work somewhere in the song to give it some "glue", so to speak. Again, just a minor niggle. All in all, very impressive, and I look forward to hearing more from you.

You might convert some people with this. This is one of the better metal recordings I've heard in a while. A good example of what could be.
  21. What a cool song. The acoustic sounded like it was right in front of me, and your voice is stellar. I would personally like to hear it a tad warmer, like a couple of db's in the 300 - 440 hz range, but not much. All in all, this is one that I'll listen to again for fun.
  22. Wow, I wish that I had thought of this, myself. A very clever video to go with a very clever song and arrangement. Keep it up!
  23. Beautiful song, Bjorn! I don't think I remember it, but I really like the sentiment. I just wrote a passing of the torch kind of song, so I guess it's going around. Nice mix.
  24. Jesse, this is terrific!! I like it on all levels and look forward to your next project.
  25. Ed, thanks for taking the time to listen and your input! I tend to agree with you and will address this on the next pass. Stay healthy and safe!
