  1. This is one of the most entertaining videos I've seen in a while. I loved this the first time around, and with the vid it's perfection. Go to the head of the class!
  2. This is classic! How about turning the vocal up? Good job on the guitar part, keep plugging away. Well done, Bjorn!
  3. I liked this the first time I heard it, and I like it even better now. You two always choose great songs to record! Encore!
  4. Google the manual for this. It does have an on/off switch for local control.
  5. Cakewalk does take over local control of your keyboard, so take a look at your global setting on the keyboard (if you have one) and turn the local control on. Hope this helps.
  6. A fabulous song! The lyrics are transcendent as is your vocal. I'll be listening to this a few more times.
  7. Great song that is aptly named! This is close to being a diy masterpiece and very entertaining. You've gotten good advice, but whether you do anything or not, this is a good song. I enjoyed it both times!
  8. This is deep and rich in flavor, like good home cooking. Your voice is like butter. Good job, Mark!
  9. That is certified Fresh! Your expertise in arranging shines in this unpredictable song. It's like skydiving over uncharted territory.
  10. I remember this song well. I like the way you captured the sound and feel of his vocals so well. The tone sounds a little thin to me, but it sounds appropriate. As usual, your choice of songs is fantastic!
  11. This sounds like a classic! I love bluegrass when it's played like this. Congrats.
  12. Count me as a member of your fan club. I love your covers and choice of songs. You turned me on to "One Of Our Submarines", which is on my daily play list now! Keep it up!
  13. Well, that held me on the edge of my seat! I know it works because I want to see that episode. Nice job, Steve.
  14. I love the way you rearrange traditional songs for the guitar. You make them sound like they were written for you! This is a terrific song, and I only wish you turned the guitar up a db or two. Let it shine!
  15. Thanks David! I appreciate your words and sentiment very much. Wow, I'm glad that worked for you. It was a lot of fun to do the vocals because I didn't have to "doctor" them up because they were in my range. I'm gonna have to try that technique again... Makke, I'm always glad to hear from you! It sure is fun to play a Strat, isn't it? Thank you for your time and kind words.
  16. Holy cow! First, thanks for your kind words, and welcome to the forum! Now, let me say something about this terrific video you've posted. I've never heard anything quite like this (at least, recently), and it's capable of being one of the freshest sounds going with a little different approach to the mix. I like almost every part of this song, from the arrangement to the vocals and lyrics. You have a very nice choice of instruments that are well balanced and played. Where I get lost is in the chorus (You can be my Sally) because the kick drum(?) builds up in that section and becomes a bit muddled, It may be due to delay or reverb, but it seemingly throws the timing off a bit, and if it's caused by a delay f/x then it might be synced better. Anyway, this is pretty good now, but this can be stellar, and I thank you for introducing it! You should post this on its own so that all can hear your talent and welcome you here. The song just fits these times so well.
  17. Steve, you have a way of making these songs fresh! You capture the feel of the original and give it your own twist. Carry on!!!
  18. I kind of agree that this could use a little punch in the drums as I'm listening a low volume, but it's a toss-up. All in all, a hard hitting production with highly professional performances on guitar and vocals. I really like your sound!
  19. I found that I couldn't share CbB with Soundforge until I went into preferences>audio>playback and recording>and checked the "suspend audio engine when Cakewak is not the focus" button. After that, I could use any audio program.
  20. Thank you Joad! Sometimes I put the lead on the right, too Thanks for the kind words about my vocals. Thanks, Nigel! I just can't seem to pin that guitar player down, but glad you like the song. Just keep coming up with your own great songs.
  21. A song as good as this deserves the best treatment you can give it, and you've made this much better! The only thing that stands out to me is the drums, and I think they just need some attention to dynamics so as not to sound too static. Sometimes it's just a matter of reducing the volume on certain hits, or varying the volume a tad, like on the snare. However, this is a good song, with a very good vocal, and it sort of sells itself and puts you in the spotlight.
  22. Wow! I would like to have produced this myself.😞 The fusion of styles and moden production techniques are crafty and spell binding at the same time. There is much depth in this piece, and you can't eat just one of them. Bass is outstanding!
  23. You do have good ears - I was using Izotope's imager software to widen the stereo field (as I do on most of my songs). I'll keep this in the back of my mind in the future. Thanks to your furry ears once again.
  24. This is the kind of song that could be interpreted in many ways, much like some of the Rolling Stones early ballads. To me, the vintage vibe is strong and convincing. It sounds like the backup vox is strong on character but a little light on clarity. Yet, it all works to create a color, or flavor that is pleasing! Nice work, Steve!
  25. Yes, of course you're right about the fact that they had limited tracks. I did remix this song and pushed the guitar to 50%L and the piano to 50%R to pull the parts together, I hope. Do you think it's still too wide? I don't mind playing with this mix. Thanks for your time!
