Sounds good, I've been waiting for Ezkeys to go on sale.

So was I .. but as I have EZY drums2 .. and that still isn't on sale .. I guess I had to bite the bulletĀ  ... still not sure if it's worth the cost but it does help with songwritingĀ šŸŽøĀ thanks for the comment

  3. HM-mm ....Ā  I dunno Wooks, your stuff gets me into trouble with the misses, in that I find myself humming to a song I've never heardĀ  ... but I have ... It's these compositionsĀ  you write !!

    Much love

One thing I forgot to mention was that interconnection off this sort often results in a ground loop hum. I remember trying the headphone output of my Blackstar amp and it was terrible.Ā
    Ā

A DI box is only needed if you are recording both the amp with a mike and also want the direct signal from the guitar. A very common and excellent way to record.Ā
But a DI box wonā€™t help record the sound of the amp.
Audio interfaces are in a way a basic DI box. The Scarlett has an instrument input that can be toggled to match up with different impedances.Ā
A cheap DI might sound worse than that. A real good DI can cost twice as much as a SM57.Ā
    Ā

Being a person who has tried just about everything at least once itā€™s like this.Ā
Best guitar tone- Tube amp / MikeĀ

    Next Hybrid Modelling amp/ mike

Next -Directly into interface and Guitar SimĀ

Things that didnā€™t work very wellā€” effects pedals directly into interface.Ā
Headphone output to interface, USB output to computer.Ā
And then my attempts at Re-Amping also didnā€™t work well.Ā

    Well said sir ...

  5. Just seen your idea to set up a solo ! Yikes!!Ā  I agree with John Vere .. You should be veryĀ  careful when using an Aux out to anything that can't handle a high output signal ( Like an Aux out ) ..Even though John suggests setting your input very low, so as not to overload the preamp, ( excellent advice )Ā  you might still get distortion from this signal. The Solo is made to use with it's USB to PC and then to your desired DAW, meaning your inputs from the SOLO go to your PC and then back to the SOLO, which should be heard from either cans or speakers, ( Monitors). Read jesse g's suggestion if your amp sound is really the sound you want ..

My strong advice is to look at the Focusrite W/S and study how your Ā£140.00 device works as it comes with plugs like Marshall sounds etc ... before you damage it ... plus it should help with other setups you might want to make in the future ... KNOW YOUR GEARĀ  ...šŸŽ§

    Chaps has a good idea .. šŸ˜‰

Thanks Steve appreciate your time and comments.

I did actually write some lyrics but never felt the need to sing them but here they are.

    JustĀ
    Just It
    Just was
    Just how
    JustĀ
    Just why
    Just what
    Just where
    JustĀ
    Just when
    Just who
    Just pain
    Just
    Just lost
    Just confused
    Just waiting
    Just

I have never wanted to air a message so personal so I won'tĀ  .. I have always felt music comes from the heartĀ  ... My guess is we kinda know each other, over these years ... maybe too well., but with ever-outĀ  meeting ... My message ... I hear youĀ šŸ§·

    Stay well

Powerful vocal here. As to the top end. I am new to hearing aids. Mine hype the top end, thatā€™s where Iā€™m deficient. When listening to music I pull the top end down a bit. Still trying to find the ā€œsweet spotā€. My ā€œknackeredā€ ears felt the vocal sat nicely in the mix. But donā€™t take that to the ā€œbankā€.Ā

Sorry to know about that t ... at 73 and with my history I don't hear so well either... As my right lug is well low, my studio is pumped on the right to give me the same balanceĀ  ... If I popped my clogs I don't think anyone would get it .. but at that point I wouldn't care LOL

Thanks Steve, so its just ``ItĀ“s horses for courses Ā“Ā“Ā  I must admit that i stumble with my English at times as i`m a Brit who livesĀ  in Austria Ā  (thirty years now) . one of my writing tricks (don't tell anyone) is slipping in a well known saying - proverb into a chorus so it stands out ,. IĀ“m a riff artist and i write from a riff or chord sequence , mumble along until something happens then comes the text , cheers P

What works ... Just works, as you infer ... ( Your secret is safe with me ... can't speak for the others though LOL )

  11. Hello Paul,

What a great question! My approach to songwriting is to try and get my idea down, often before playing anything, in the hope I get the song completed and not left halfway through because I ran out of steam ... not always mind, but for me it works well when I have a half baked idea an need to think what I want my message to portray when it's completed. There have been times when I've been a chorus (words only) and was asked to write the song around it, then this approach works a treat !

Next is to find a way for the lyrics to play out with my ability to play the instrument, often, and certainly of late, using plugs ( NI,EZydrum, keys etc ) to get a bare bones song. At this stage I often read the lyric differently than I first thought and change words to match the rhythm. Then comes the mixing and mastering ...

Yes it's a bit like reading a book before watching a movie, but you have to bare in mind, all the content of a song is in you head when listening ( unless a video runs along with the work ) ... so there is never disappointment and other peoples approach to writing their song is interesting .. you learn and hopefully get better from the experience .

Just for the record I did like this one šŸ˜

  12. I think the problem here is not understanding computer interfaces with inboard ( in-the -box / outboard instruments)Ā  regarding how your said, desktop / laptop .. MAC / PC / deals with it all.

Your problem seem to beĀ  a quick fix ... IF THAT'S POSSIBLE .....Understanding of drivers with software ,... sound interfaces and Midi controllers ETC ,

Ā Ā Ā  ...most of the guys on this website are extremelyĀ  versatile with the problems you seem to have .. ... ..BUT,Ā  you need toĀ  a basic understanding of your goals and said difficulties of where you would like to go with your music ... in a word experience

There's no 'easy fix' ... so check out YT for at least some understanding of where you wanaĀ  go.
