  1. This is interesting as you can currently get the upgrade in the UK to Vegas 20 Edit for £57, and Vegas 20 Pro for £98 if you need the third-party add-ons. Although I stopped buying Vegas at version 15 as it used to crash while rendering, I did like its workflow.

I have been using free DaVinci Resolve since then and I like it a lot, but I'm starting to want the Studio version features. Resolve Studio though would cost me £330 inc VAT, compared to £57 for Vegas 20 Edit (all I need for the same reason as @Tezza), and I'm also curious to see how far Vegas has come since version 15.  This HB deal adds another option - Vegas 18 Edit for £20.99.

I found the information below on the main differences between Vegas 18, 19 and 20. I'm not interested in the filler that comes with the Humble Bundle deal, so the extra £36 for Vegas 20 Edit might be a better deal to get all the latest features.  Anyway, I am still pondering this at the moment as every pound spent on other NLEs could be put towards Davinci Resolve Studio.

Ok. It took several attempts but I managed to buy Synthesizer V Pro, Kevin AI and Saki AI for a total of 16878 Yens or about $125. The voicebanks were 5420 Yens each (about $40) and Synth V 6037 Yens ($45). So significantly cheaper than elsewhere and no tax was added.

When you register an account you have an option to get the 30% discount coupon, ie. they don't give it to you automatically. They have instructions how to get it.

The problem I had was that for some reason the first credit card I tried wasn't accepted and my browser's security settings complicated the CC verification process (3rd party scripts are disabled by default). They say that some credit cards issued outside of Japan may not be accepted and PayPal is not a payment option, but luckily I have multiple CCs. It's also possible that the first one failed because of some other error.

Anyhow, I'm now downloading the files and we'll see soon if there are any nasty surprises waiting for me. :)

Edit: Everything works great. The only bump is that the versions DLSite offers are old, so the first thing I needed to do was to update Synth V and both voicebanks. But otherwise things are looking good. :)

Bargain prices! Thanks for the update and detailed procedure pseudopop 👍🏻

I'm just hoping that Weina and some of the other English VBs appear there before they end the sale.

Synth V normally updates itself and its voicebanks from within its own UI, so that's pretty normal.

  3. Also, @antler there's a Japanese site selling Synthesizer V and Kevin (unfortunately not Weina, Natalie or Eleanor Forte).

Kevin is less than 50 USD on DLsite (with 20% off + new registration coupon -15% off) https://www.dlsite.com/soft/work/=/product_id/VJ015171.html

Synthesizer V Pro is also on sale (20% Off - less if you buy at the same time as Kevin). https://www.dlsite.com/soft/work/=/product_id/VJ013608.html

They have other voicebanks but they are native Chinese/Japanese.

I haven't bought anything from them before so cannot vouch for them.

Note: the site header says 30% off when creating a new account so it might be even cheaper than reported above, but I haven't tried it as I already own SV and Kevin.

If anyone buys from them can they please post here what they paid?

    I think it's better again, but... I don't know.

Maybe I'm overly critical of this voice for some reason. No matter the song it just sounds like it doesn't quite fit there. I wonder how it would work in a slow jazz song?

As an aside, I have Solaria and Asterian in the shopping cart, but my finger is refusing to make the final click...

Yeah, I'm also teetering, but for me, it would be $79.99 and I also want Natalie ($86.90 inc Tax). I would like to try the voicebank in a couple of songs that I have in mind, but the demo voicebank won't be released until the end of next year (according to Eclipsed Sounds on Twitter).

Here's another Asterian demo (pretty good):

Sorry about that @ZincT  I had the minimum in the title but added it to the body just now.  I went with both of those and the Dual Delay Plus.  I am just a total sucker for delays.  Gas Plus for me 🙄

Hey, no problem Brian; I should have read your post more carefully, or even remembered there was a limit from previous years 🤦🏻‍♂️

Now you've got me looking at that delay and Thorus 🤣

    Sorry, you won't 🙂

Simply enter the code SNOW in the "Vouchers" field at checkout.

Valid through December 31st at uvi.net, for the purchase of any permanent license of $79/79€ or more.

Ah yes, I had forgotten about the limit; post adjusted 😉

  8. Grains and Fragments can be downloaded here..

    https://feelyoursound.com/packages/grains-and-fragments/

You can just copy it and paste it in the Chordpotion UI.

Also, worth checking that you have all of the existing packages for both ChordPotion and Sundog :

    Sundog packages -  https://feelyoursound.com/packages-for-sundog/

Ooh: this does look interesting... Could someone tell me please -

    • Does this run off your own computer, or does it have to upload to the cloud to render?
    • Does it need an iLok or anything like that?
    • Do the voices ever go on sale (besides being bundled with the initial purchase)?

It runs on your own computer. No need for upload to the cloud for rendering. You get both standalone and vsti plugin versions when you purchase Synthesizer V.

No iLok or similar dongle is required. It uses a serial number registration.

Not aware of any sales as yet apart from intro offers.

  10. Have to say that this is pretty impressive, even compared to Melodyne Studio which has become my standard pitch correction tool.

The draw tool is pretty useful, and the way that you can tilt notes to fix pitch drops/lifts is also intuitive.

I tried the demo and bought it (crossgrade from Vocalign Ultra)! It can even load Vocalign Ultra for alignment duties.

I'm definitely buying Solaria and Asterian, but I'm struggling to figure out if I should get Natalie or Weina.

Weina is supposedly more advanced ("a culmination of arts and artificial intelligence") but I haven't been able to find any actual information about it. It's certainly more expensive (€87 vs €142) but if I get the bundle the price difference is smaller (€166 vs €202, prices include tax). Both voices sound good to me.

I'm also torn between Weina and Natalie. Weina is their first Gold standard bank which supports more tonal variety and vocal range. It is also  bilingual (English and Mandarin Chinese) although I will only be using English. Also, the experts seem to have been able to get more out of Weina by manual tweaking. I do like the tone of Natalie though and of course, it is quite a bit cheaper. Decisions, decisions!

  12. Latest Asterian demo - much clearer and more impressive to my ears.

Also gives an idea of his range.

They should have released this first imho.

Also, their latest ad is a pretty cool demonstration of Synth V capabilities (the voicebank is thought to be Natalie).

At one point this was highly regarded.
It probably still compares well with most of the stuff out there with a couple of exceptions.

Yes, it's been on my "to-buy" list for years, but I never thought it was worth what they were asking.
Just demo'd it again now and it does sound great and is definitely worth 29 bucks.

I already had Waveform 11 Pro, but decided not to do the full upgrade this year as I do not need all of the Pro features.

Instead I added Waveform 12 Free, plus the MIDI Producer Pack. I got that for $25 (with the discount code: FRIDAY22) and it gives me all of the MIDI tools that Waveform Pro has. https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-free-expansions

This year the Waveform Pro 12 features are all available in 3 separate expansion packs [Recording Engineer, MIDI Producer, Synth Pack] that you can add to Waveform  Free to customize it with only the features that you need: https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-free

Thanks for pointing this out @abacab

I have just added the MIDI Producer Pack to my Waveform 12 Free.

I am curious about the MIDI capabilities of Waveform, but don't want the outlay of Pro to find out. Also, I did the 90 day demo if Waveform 11 Pro (for Wotja beta testing) but never got around to trying out the MIDI capabilities before it expired 🤦‍♂️

They seem to do a pretty decent loyalty discount. Not sure if it increases with the more you have though, or whether it's just a set loyalty, but it's still nice to see.

What particular functionality are you looking for from SmartComp?

I like sonible stuff in general as I find their UIs to be pretty well designed. They can also get you close to the settings you want quickly often needing only minor manual tweaks.

I have Trackspacer so will be interested to see how the unmasking capabilities compare with it.

This video piqued my interest when Smart Comp 2 was introduced so I kept it on my radar waiting for a decent upgrade price.

Sonible Smart Comp 2 ($61.98 @ AudioDeluxs) with free Melda Transient shaper plugin

Check your discount directly on Sonible first. Showing $35 for me.

A lot of people seem to say it's better than Trackspacer 🙂

Same for me on Sonible website. I have Smart Limit (and other Sonible stuff) which is now in my default template.
I was waiting for Smart Comp 2 👍🏻
