  1. LOL ...well done! Good post for a bit of fun
  2. My cones thank you ..FWIW both mixes work for me but the revamp version seems more profesh albeit a bit 'milked down' (Did I say I love the bass riff ...) Good post Regards Steve
  3. It's a song in the making. I think it needs a bit of love on the dynamics and mixing as it seems to lack power which I think work like this needs but all good 'ish.
  4. Not really my cuppa but two things occur 1) Reverb is way high 2) Snare def needs to come down as well to make it gel as a song ... maybe a third 'A spaceship'? That said, I can't say I didn't enjoy it so ...

    my love

Pretty song Paul, you need to smarten up the vocal a little to make it work, try doubling the track count to thicken it, always remember that breathing and singing is an art unto itself ..JMO 😉
  6. Thanks for the post Will, have to agree with ZincT. She will always be one of the best here in the UK, most probably because the great Terry Wogan played her stuff posthumously on his radio show which had a large audience and she became famous ... her death was a shock to me when I found out as I also had been listening to her but never realized her fate ...so very sad I would imagine you had a tear while watching her on the tube, she was one of the all 'round greats !!
  7. For me I still use a Tascam midi studio (rebuilt twice in its long history) for the odd client that needs mix/mastering for double speed cassette, but have to say it still can produce a beautiful finish/analog result. It cost me around £2000.00 quid when I bought it new, but I've kept it working through the years due to the quality. Regarding belt replacement I have rebuilt several open reel & cassette recorders and always found Ebay to be a good source, sometimes the best way is bulk buying various sizes although specialist belts/parts can be rare and expensive . I hope you get this this up and working and I do get the calculator/maths story but it will be rewarding in the end'
  8. Good stuff I enjoyed the pics ... must find out more

  12. When I was a boy too many years ago I loved this song, along with 'little Jimmy Brown'. My aim was to rearrange it to become a dance track . https://www.bandlab.com/supareels_music/why-cant-we-be-together-4990e?revId=ea6bb9a5-d214-e911-9f2a-00155d77cb96
  13. Having listened to both, I think you've nailed the mix but the vocal still struggles in parts, I'm wondering if double up on the vox track then pan the new tracks just shy of center until they become more visible. Great work though and as always it depends on personal preference ... Steve
  14. This is the kind of music that makes you wanna join a band and smash it !! (Nearly blew the cones out on my monitors !)

  16. Sounds great here too ... looking forward to the master Good work Bat!
  17. Yep a matter of taste I suppose ...won't hold it against you though 'cause I watched him again an' maybe your right 😖
  18. Little terror ... I would struggle with this key as well! (I think you done it proud) Maybe I'll try with some tight pants ...could work. BTW I gave it a try but you seem to have put an extra verse in @V2 ? Love your stuff Will All the best Steve
  19. Thanks for the interest and response. For the record I have used this with Sonar Platinum & Cubase 9.5 and now 10 on a Windows 7 64bit. The setup I have tried is to send a vocal track via an external FX track as shown in the following UT Vid :- All functions if I just use this interface as a means of getting sound in and out of the DAW's work fine, in fact if not for this problem I would give this a gold thumbs up, however I do use a Voice Live for backing vocal so it really needs to work in the box. Your thoughts are VM appreciated
  20. Has anyone here started or are using the Steinberg UR 44 interface ? I have invested in this and replaced my ESI1010 And Roland Quad although I have recently moved back to the old set up ( Lash-up ) due to the fact it does not seem possible to get out rigged gear in and out of this without feedback! Blurb says that this interface has a 6 x4 connectivity but having moved Heaven and Earth and for the life of me I can't get a send without it feeding back!😩 I have been messing around with studio gear since Cakewalk was just that and the 688 midi studio was cutting edge ... but I have to say this problem has me scratching (no it's not hives ...although I am old) All & any input would help BUT if you are not using / have experience of this piece of hardware don't respond with the 'have you tried' stuff ... I have sent an Email to SB but as yet their keeping their head low ... my thinking is they know their holding ten ton weight that's only going down! In the meantime if you were thinking of investing in one of these .....Hmmmmm
  21. Eddie Izzard, Billy Connolly, Peter Kay all good but how about Joe Brand or Kevin Bridges in the mix ... all U'K,ies, but the US has (had) Richard Pryor, David Chapelle among the greats and can crack me up ... how about the worst ?? WOe ( Kudos to Bill Bailey.. respect !!) To get ya started Nina Conti (Nice NF)
  22. Love the new handle m8 ...cool playing
