Profitable is great, but the quality of their product has plummeted. Meaning Paul's voice has been shot for at least 5 years, and they are using lead vocal and backing tracks. Set list is the same old crap from 2000 basically (and I know they have many songs they "must play", but they could rotate 3 or 4 spots in the set for some less-played classics ...though I guess when Paul NEEDS a vocal track to sing with, it would be tough. I 100% agree with @Rain that if they had waited for a bit, say a year, then it wouldn't have been nearly as bad. I still think the idea is sh!t, and I won't pay a dime for it, and this is from a guy who has all the records and a good amount of memorabilia. No respect at all for Gene and Paul. #teamACE

I grew up loving the band, but by the end of the first "Farewell Tour", I had become disenchanted with them, and saw them for what they are: a mediocre band with a good gimmick. Now I know why people turned on them in the 70's. I try to go by a simple rule when on a phone call, visit with a friend, or at a party: better to leave a little early and wish you stayed longer than overstay and wear out your welcome. Probably blasphemy to many, but I think 90125 is the best Yes album all the way through. Particularly the vocals on Leave It. Vocals start shortly after the 2 minute mark.

It is electrical hum. I did have two power strips connected to the UPS. I bypassed them and went direct in to the UPS, and the difference is quite noticeable and ALMOST gone (ran diags on the UPS and all reports normal). Checking the power cords and replacing the ones I can with better quality shielded ones. Obviously, tougher with proprietary power supplies.

No one? I believe my cables to be good. I also have a fancy UPS that I controls the voltage. But it only when I open projects that it seems to happen. I tested with a single Guitar Rig track, and it is fine.

I was opening the project @Lord Tim contributed as a Demo Project (which, thanks by the way), and when I open it, a high pitch electrical-type tone/hum that stays until I close it, and it is silent again. I noticed the same thing on a few projects. Anyone having the same issue? If so, what can I try to eliminate

I was hoping that would change in the Roland and Gibson years, but it really didn't. I've tried others, but I don't feel it was any better for what I do. YMMV

I saw Yngwie once(only because George Lynch opened), and I walked out when he started his THIRD guitar solo. Ridiculous. But it really seemed like his whole show was an exercise in soulless wanking. Fast can be great, but only with melody.

I didn't TRULY appreciate Rush until the R40 tour, because I got a last minute ticket for two beers as it turned out. BEST DEAL EVER! While they still aren't a favorite, I became much more of a fan that day and have explored much more of their catalog since. Yes? My pop sensibilities say 90125 is damn near a MASTERPIECE! But, the 70's stuff is hit or miss for me. I've been a George Lynch guy since 1986, I think he is the best blend of melody and shred. I feel that Warren DeMartini and Jake E Lee were pretty damn good too. Who is your favorite?

One of the all-time great riffs, and it builds perfectly. The verses were MEH imo, but serviceable. Then the hook can reel in a Great White!

I use Debian and Ubuntu(and Mint a few years back), but I realize it is a such a small subset of people who use Linux and also do music production that it would be cost prohibitive to target the market, that's all.

@Rain It could have been me back then, but the level of frustration I experienced with that thing I have luckily not had since. It may have been an IRQ issue that I could not get past. In the early days, things weren't as easy to set up as they they are now.

I had one of the early M-Audio interfaces, and it was horrid. Glad when I got my first "real" one with the Tascam FW-1884, which was an awesome purchase. Anytime I built a DAW with an AMD processor and/or a non-Asus board, I was happy when I got rid of it!

To be fair, I had already ruined the guitar.

My two biggest regerts: I had an original Ibanez Iceman from the 70's that I took a screwdriver and/or chisel to, so I could get it painted with a Frankenstein head ....the artist did an AMAZING job, but it was on the wood that had chunks out of it. I ended up trading it for a pair of suede boots. Not my finest moment. Also, in the early 90's, had a chance to buy an Orange Chet Atkins Tennesseean for $500. I loved it, but just didn't fit with my look at the time. What's yours?
