    Trash is back

They must be super important since they have more than one rock band making their hype credible. Hmm 🤔

    Trash is back

Them cookies can be smelled a mile away where YouTube is located. I just accepted the fact that conspiracy theorists are conspiracy prophets now days. Also we never got a chance to take the red pill because the government has been pouring blue pill in our drinking water for years. 😛

I thought it was all just a bunch of HYPE though 😛

Expect similar treatment to Iris as well. So there is that and nothing to be excited about.
  5. Vector graphics is a step in the right direction. The default themes and stuff is fine as long as we have options to choose something else. I hope in future releases they will either include a very similar theme to CbB or give us the customization options to do so. For those of us that have strong GPUs and HD resolutions (gaming laptops for example), you can have graphic accelerations like Open GL for example and the performance will be so smooth and no latency. So just an option for the same thing will be nice. I'm not asking for the defaults to be different. For now they can focus on developing the DAW and finally getting the product out. But I would like theme options in the future. I don't want an Ableton inspired or cookie-cutter looking DAW. The new Cakewalk Sonar can be the new award winning GPU accelerated Skylight 2.0 for a new era in vector graphics for the new modern age. A DAW that stands out like the original Skylight 1.0 interface was for it's age. Just saying.... no pressure. 😛
  6. I'm sure Only Fans has the plugs. Lots of fans there but I am not sure where on the site to find it. 😛

What's different is that instead of custom wave shaping you have an XY pad to combine different distortion types. What's added is the multiband for the convolver and an XY pad for that too. So it seems like a good plugin but not as good as Trash 2 because of all the missing features. I wonder if they will add the missing features in a future version.
  8. Tungsten. CbB: Tungsten Sonar: CbB: Sonar: CbB is more well defined and different color shades show more details and make things very clear at first glance. I don't mean blurry. I just mean that it is more clear in CbB to figure out everything at first glance. You can even tell the boundary boxes in console and inspector view. Nothing seems flat and you can tell when one section or box starts and ends. In Sonar the Sends don't even look like a box, just a flat plane. Also buttons don't look like obvious buttons. I'm sure Sonar can look like CbB with a little more work and I am sure vector graphics are not a limitation. If there is a way I could make it look like CbB myself I would but I am not sure if the option is even there.
  9. Unfortunately a lot of people have foggy brain cells now days.
  10. Oh, I just realized that people may think the BandLab Membership = Sonar subscription pre-order. It is not. Synthmaster 3 is currently in alpha or beta (not sure which one), but they are actually selling the update early so you can buy it right now before release and test out the new features. And when it's released you will get the completed fully released version free because you already paid for it beforehand. Also many games have pre-orders and early access. The BandLab Backstage Pass is not this! Why? Because they didn't publicly announce that you can get all their membership services together with two DAWs Sonar and Next all for the price of $14.95 per month. Also saying that when it's released nothing changes for you because you "bought" it early and you can just keep subscribing to keep using Sonar and you will also own Next as well as access to all the BandLab music services. I don't know why people think that is what it is when no where on the BandLab website or the Cakewalk website say that. This is what this website https://www.cakewalk.com/sonar says: "Cakewalk Sonar is still in development, but you can gain early access through Backstage Pass — an experimental program available to users with an active BandLab Membership." And this website https://www.cakewalk.com/next says: "Cakewalk Next is still in development, but you can gain early access through Backstage Pass — an experimental program available to users with an active BandLab Membership." And this website https://www.bandlab.com/membership says: "Backstage Pass: Unlock exclusive, experimental, and early access features on BandLab before anyone else" Since they say "BandLab" and not Sonar or Next here, I think they mean the online BandLab Studio DAW and mobile app. NOWHERE does it say on three pages "BUY SONAR AND NEXT EARLY WITH THIS MEMBERSHIP" also they did not announce whether either of the DAWs will be subscription or one time purchase. So it is implied if not stated that this is just to test out the software in development. But I guess they have to make it more clear to people that like making an ***** out of themselves by assuming this is how you "buy Sonar before anyone else". The same way we had Cakewalk by BandLab early access for the new updates is the same thing here, except you have to pay for it to fully use it. But if you think this is a pre-order subscription and don't believe me then enjoy your subscription and keep taking everything I said wrong an ignore everything I just said.
  11. Everything you said is correct and I didn't say anything that is against this. If they pay and continue to pay the subscription then they will always have a backstage pass.
  12. I have to give credit to the Bakers for putting up with all the craziness of the forum pre-release of Sonar. No matter how clear and obvious something is said, people can still take it the wrong way and read into things that don't exist. All this and you still have to act professional and all that. You guys should at least be paid in cake (pun intended) for this alone, LOL! 😛🤣
  13. Paying for BandLab Membership does not equal paying for Sonar. It only gives you early access to Sonar and Next and whatever they add to "Backstage Pass". But hey, don't listen to me....... I'll just be here smoking my tea leaves with my fellow spirit elves. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  14. That's exactly what it is! "BEFORE the general public". Then when it is released to the general public it will no longer be part of the Backstage Pass. So, you will have to purchase the released Sonar the way BandLab wants you to. If they do decide later that a BandLab Membership means you get free access to Sonar and Next as a subscription service, then they can do that too. But I doubt it. I think it will be separate from BandLab Membership later on because it is no longer "backstage" anymore, and why would they do that when they can get more money. If you thought I meant Sonar will no longer be a part of BandLab the company and that you will have to buy it from another owner then you totally misunderstood me.
  15. Sonar isn't available for purchase yet and CbB will be discontinued and inaccessible after Sonar is released. Consider CbB that you use now as a free trial and the Sonar that you get now before it is released is just a beta version and will only work until the completed version is released. So I would advise not making anything related to Cakewalk/Sonar/Next your main anything or permanently move anything to it. Because IT WILL CHANGE SOON!
  16. I think it sucks that we wont be able to use the free version going forward just like the legacy Sonar users have been using their version since (and they will probably be able to use legacy Sonar even AFTER the new Sonar is released). I thought we could continue using it but it wont be supported anymore, but that is not the case. We have just been using it as a years long free trial it seems. They however never made it open source or a freeware license. It was more open ended. If you fall to ignorance and assumptions and it costs you to lose money, then it isn't BandLab's fault. The thing here is, you don't have to use Sonar at all and can use the FREE Cakewalk by BandLab until you cant anymore because Sonar is finally released. The only reason Sonar is accessible right now is for public testing. It has no marketing, no pricing, no release date, nothing concrete. So if you take a risk for paying for something you don't need that is unstable and you lose access to it, it's your own fault. No software company grants use of their beta after release. As for the membership, they will just direct you to the fine print and the obvious print that some people ignore to read.
  17. Well, as much as I'd like to say that I am a psychic prophet with mad tea leaf reading skills..... no I'm not. 😛 To put what I said in laymen's terms of this day and age; It is a beta demo. You are using a beta demo. When it is no longer a beta, and is publicly announced and released, you cant use the beta anymore because it will be outdated. That simple! I used the wrong terminology here on purpose because if I say "Early Access" they may not understand what I am saying, even though we had many Early Access versions with Cakewalk by BandLab (i.e. No one ever stays on the early access version when it is done. They just upgrade to the new release patch instead). You can consider early access versions as "Gamma" if it makes understanding it better, LOL! If you go to bandlab.com/membership and read and comprehend the page, you will understand that it is all about helping musicians create, advertise, and distribute their music. That is the main goal of the membership! It's a paid upgraded version of the services that they already give for free. "Backstage Pass" which gives access to new software and features still in development, is only one of the features of the paid service and it is more than just Cakewalk! I'll try to make this even more clear and obvious (if that is even possible LOL); If a demo lasts only 6 months but you have to pay to use the demo, does it make sense to pay for a year for it? NO ofcourse not! When you get a BandLab Membership is it only for using Sonar? NO ofcourse not! It is way more than that and is why you can pay yearly and monthly for it even AFTER Sonar is released and no longer in Early Access status. You will lose access to Sonar but still access anything else they have as Early Access and ALL the other member features and services they have. So now if you want to use Sonar you would have to buy it. I hope this clears up things. If not, then I would be a very bad teacher that cant explain things to kids. 😛
  18. If you want to install in another drive you have to accept the consequences of possible high latency and going through trouble being outside the norm.
  19. Sonar has not been released yet. The BandLab Membership includes Early Access to software. Sonar is out of internal beta and is now offered as public early access. When Sonar is released it will no longer be "early access" and no longer be a part of the BandLab Membership. So if you purchase an annual subscription to BandLab Membership for the sole reason of using Sonar, then don't be surprised when you no longer have access to Sonar if it gets released in under a year and you have to actually buy the program to use it again. Just stating the obvious in case people don't like reading fine AND large print elsewhere and don't like figuring things out.
  20. The title says [Updated 4-Jan-2022] so that should give you an idea!
  21. I am thinking the OP is using the new Sonar and not the free Cakewalk. Looking at other threads, he probably got the new Sonar while ignoring everything about it and thinking it's just another free version. He then signs onto BandLab and thinks that will "activate" it, not knowing this is an early access version and that he has to pay the Backstage Pass membership fee to use it like the free version. He then decides to ignore all the warning signs and proceeds to work in the program then realizes he cant save and finally notices the warning signs and is confused and in panic (and still using BandLab Assistant for some reason, LOL). That's what I think is happening.
  22. I use the Tungsten theme in Cakewalk and I like it. But the one in Sonar is bad. Lots of missing details and colors making it look like a mod of Ableton interface instead of the award winning Cakewalk skylight interface.
  23. then maybe they can use it together with their $100 voucher
  24. If you have not received the email there may be a way to check your account for vouchers: Log in to you account on uvi.net Click on Personal Settings on My UVI Click on Back To Your Account link at the bottom of that specific page Click on Vouchers at the bottom of the page. I found this method by accident one day LOL! It is strange that they don't have a link to this page and you would have to go around this way to find it. 🙃
  25. This is the lowest I have ever seen it! Together with the $100 voucher that you get right away and free upgrades, it is 100% worth it! It has become so much more powerful and can make any sound you want (Sample, Synthesis, Physical Modeling) and also has MIDI Out. You can use all of it's script processors to control external hardware or other VST's. So that's over 20 unique and individual sequencers each with their own presets. Plus all the other scripts that you can use as MIDI Out that are all together probably 100. You can also get user made scripts that you can find online to use within Falcon or outside it as well with MIDI Out. I have few good ones I found online that I added to Falcon. I would say that it's MIDI scripts are almost like the Players in Reason Rack because you have Chords, Scales, Strum, Arp and Sequencing. But they are a bunch, not just a handful. Also most of the effects they sell at UVI are already integrated into Falcon in some fashion. There are general presets and then there are the effects presets and multi effect presets, then individual presets from the different oscillators and effects as well as different modulators. So they are thousands! So there are a ton of stuff that you may not see at first glance so you would have to start exploring then you will see all the other good stuff in there. Also all I just motioned is just the factory stuff. When you add other soundware or expansions then you just multiply it's functionality. It's almost a DAW at this point where their soundware acts as plugins, LOL! All for $199 it's insane! EDIT: I just found out that UVI also sent out 50% vouchers to account holders. So if you have an account with UVI then check your account or email for the voucher which will make this $99.5 for Falcon 3!!!!!
