You can download free VGM's from here https://www.zophar.net/music/sega-mega-drive-genesis , then use the RYMCast to sample the synth sounds and load them into RYM2612 to play them. I tried sampling a famous Sonic game music and was able to play the same synth sounds using the RYM2612 which is cool!

I already have UVI Xtreme FX 1 and 2. UVI Meteor. The free foley library that comes with Davinci Resolve Studio. And WA Production Ultimate FX Bundle 3. I don't know if getting this would be overkill or just duplicate was of space. I am already covered when it comes to synths, so I don't see the need to get Krotos Concept.

It's funny that I keep adding the free waves plugins to my account but I will not install anything related to Waves in my PC. I get them to satisfy my G.A.S. even though I will never use them! 😆

I had to come to the realization that I am not a musician, but a plugin collector. 🤪

I'm new to Reaper. After getting it, I feel like this is the DAW I should have used all along. But the current version 7 of Reaper is actually the best version to get as newcomer. It feels like it can do everything every other DAW can do. With the help of freely available scripts that you can easily get for it($0), you can have a visual modulation environment to modulate ANYTHING (the Q knob of an EQ modulated by the mix knob of a Reverb or anything crazy like that, even in parallel!), a visual scripting environment to create your own scripts, and effects that are on par or better than ones you have to pay for. It would have actually saved me a lot of money on plugins if I got Reaper as my first DAW actually. 😆 All for $60! 🤑😛🤪🤣

Yeah. I will say that Cakewalk is the easiest to get into for beginners for figuring out the basics. That was the case for me. Every other DAW I tried a trial of at the time was too confusing in comparison. But once you learn the basics, it's good to branch out and see what's out there. This was easy for me to do because Cakewalk was free.

LOL! This is what people on other forums may be like. But after my disappointment with Sonar then finding a video of a cool layout of Reaper, I decided to check it out. I was impressed by how much more it can do than all versions of Cakewalk. Both in theme customization and functionality customization. And at $60 it was an easy decision.

Funny thing is I knew someone would make the joke about Reason when I typed "reason". 🤣 I had Reason 11 Suite for years now and only use it as a plug-in for the Rack Extensions and it works just fine in Reaper so it has no reason (pun intended) to be mentioned in my original post unless your reason is different to my reason. But I don't see the reason in that. 😛

All the smoke and mirrors about the new Sonar and some people not seeing the obvious and listening to reason made me switch to Reaper.

Are they using Reaper as the DAW? I really like that UI theme! I may just use it because it is better looking than Sonar, LOL!
