  1. I’m having the same issue, with all browsers. The MFA is the issue. I’m an IT professional and I’ve done substantial troubleshooting on my PC to try to get this resolved. I got the same error on my phone logging into the forums, somehow it still logged me in but I got the page not found.

    I’ll try contacting support again.

Adding pain to the issue is the only MFA option is email. An app or phone option would potentially help alleviate this. It would certainly be more convenient at the least.
Hopefully enough have this page not found issue to get more help towards resolution.

It's true that S1 and Mixcraft both have a rent to own option. You keep it forever after a year.

But right now Sonar is part of a larger package so that's totally a different animal. I see this is what a lot of people are objecting too.

But then- Take note that at the sale price of $100 per year Bandlabs membership is by far a better deal than both S1 ( $262) and MIxcraft ( $180 )  Pro Tools Studio ( $311) and Ultimate ( $631) Even at full price Bandlabs membership is a better deal.

And personally getting 2 Daws for the price of one is a bonus.  Next is a cool little Daw that I find myself using a lot. I just recorded my 45 minute live set none stop. Added a few effects and I'm done. I wish it had better meters. But I had Melda.

My only real concern is Sonars future. Will it still be around in 5 years? Everybody has ether changed Daw's or is still using Cakewalk.

Excellent points about the costs of keeping other products current, and the value price point for the Sonar subscription. I always upgraded previous iterations of Sonar/Cakewalk and I think most loyal customers did. Subscription or not I was paying to stay current annually.  SPLAT was a great pricing model to own what you had paid for up to that point, but was easily gamed by the community and I understand it not being sustainable. I prefer subscription and regular updates as opposed to buying a new version each year,. and relevant updates only coming out annually. I do understand some wanting that option, but the product would suffer imo.

As far as the current iteration, I had to let my subscription expire to finally get the best value pricing. I hope it becomes easier to continue subscriptions at a value price without having to let it expire. That is the only thing that has struck me as a bit disconnected towards the loyal client base.

The revenue is what will keep Sonar's future relevant and supported.

I use all 3 products (CWBBL, Sonar and Next, as well as the add-ins) and it is an excellent package. Best value in the market by far imo with the value pricing.

  3. Thanks for the comments. I installed the free BFD Player and core library, and it crashed within a few minutes of trying to use it as a soft synth in Sonar. The stand-alone was not intuitive to me at all. Uninstalled.

  4. I just want to comment on what a great package the Back Stage Pass has been so far.  It gives m e access to using the new Sonar and Next DAWs on my PC and laptop. I can use BandLab (and a bunch of tools) on my phone and iPad.  I can record anywhere, in any scenario and choose the program of my choice for the occasion.

I’m glad for the opportunity to be able to use and compare Next and Sonar rather than having to choose to commit to one or the other.  My sons and their friends are avid users of BandLab, and demonstrates the next generation using modern collaboration tools.

When you add in the features tools, and the additional services for growing your brand and distribution etc, it is really the most comprehensive package in the business and value filled.

I won’t use all it includes,  buy many like me will find outstanding value and quality with this package.
I feel like Cakewalk/Bandlab is just starting to reach their potential, and maximizing its future.
I’m excited and can’t wait to see where we go in the coming months and years.

If folks are looking for free, there are other lesser options. For quality and value, Cakewalk/Bandlab/Sonar/Next is an excellent investment.

Thank you to Noel and staff for your kindness and patience while guiding us through these transformative changes!

Sonar has not been released yet. The BandLab Membership includes Early Access to software. Sonar is out of internal beta and is now offered as public early access. When Sonar is released it will no longer be "early access" and no longer be a part of the BandLab Membership. So if you purchase an annual subscription to BandLab Membership for the sole reason of using Sonar, then don't be surprised when you no longer have access to Sonar if it gets released in under a year and you have to actually buy the program to use it again.

Just stating the obvious in case people don't like reading fine AND large print elsewhere and don't like figuring things out.

I would guess there will remain an early access to updates to Sonar and Next as part of the Back Stage Pass. I can't see them doing a bait and switch, and take away an obvious reason for purchasing the Back Stage Pass, an all-in-one package. It should continue to offer early access to the latest version of the software.

Perhaps Noel or someone can clarify.

  6. I appreciate the thoughtful answer and suggestions, and I’ll consider them as well.

But I’m really looking to see if I can expand the capabilities built into CbB and BandLab, keeping everything in the same environment. Was hoping if it can’t be done now, maybe a preview of possibilities in the new version coming.

I can upload a file (a track or full mix) and share with my friends on BandLab, and they can download it to their CbB and add to it or edit etc, then they can upload it. Or listen to uploads on our phones, iPads, etc… It’s just we are meeting barriers doing this after a few files.

    thx!

  7. I’ve been trying to get a couple friends who are less technical to share songs we can work on together remotely using built in features of Cakewalk and the BandLab for Projects and Library.  There are apparently some limits to sharing projects. Not sure if it is limited by size, or how many files shared. In either case I have not found any options to increase the amount of content allowed. I haven’t found a way to upgrade the account or pay for more storage for this particular feature only.

if someone could direct me to these options, or confirm there are no options bedsides the account’s current limitations I’d appreciate it.

    thx!

If you haven’t checked it out, it is a really useful feature imo. I’m hoping it is expanded in the paid versions.

  8. I have EZD3 and SD2.  Looks like a good time to leap into EZKeys. Please share suggestions for a best first purchase for EZ Keys. Looking for best value and sounds, as in size of library and useful sounds. Are there any no-brainers to start off with.

Also wonder if getting a bigger package is more value. It is a little confusing cyphering the sound expansions etc..

Thank you for the recommendations in advance. ?

ASIO  only allows one driver at a time.

Correct. The two devices are connected to each other with a special cable and settings. The VS-100 asio driver is used. The driver settings indicate whether the hardware connection has been made successfully or shows an error if not. The Daw sees the VS-100, but also the added inputs and outputs added by the I/O expansion.

"Version 1.50 adds support for I/O expansion with the OCTA-CAPTURE. The V-STUDIO 100 driver for Windows or Macintosh, version 2.0 or later, is required. Please refer to the PDF document “IO Expansion by using the OCTA-CAPTURE with the VS100 or VS700.pdf” for details."

  10. Hi folks,

Hoping someone can help with this. I recently bought a Roland Octa-Capture to expand inputs and outputs of my Roland VS-100. Each device works perfectly on its own. All drivers and firmware are up to date. When I have them "paired" (all settings correct as per the directions, coaxial cable in place, on same usb 2.0  bus; etc) the inputs and outputs are all listed as choices in the audio tracks. I can change the input I want to use on a track. The software shows the devices, no errors. No errors in the driver window that would appear if the devices weren't configured properly or if they were on separate usb buses. However, in CbB the mouse cursor just spins and I can't record or playback. Not on a new project, not on an existing project. I can select different inputs and click other items, but playback and recording don't work at all.

I can use non asio drivers, but then only the VS-100 is "seen" as connected.

I have changed every cord; I've tried on my desktop PC and my laptop. Bought a sub 2.0 hub to test with new cables. Anti-Virus is off. Disabled and uninstalled all other sound devices and drivers. Uninstalled other DAWs.  I have cleanly removed the drivers and tried different sequences of powering on each sound card and connecting each usb cable to the computer. Ran sfc /scannow and everything else I could think of. I have done too many things to write them all down.

I am thinking it has to be the driver.  I have not tested it with Windows 10. I have Windows 11. I had to turn off Core Isolation for the driver to install properly. As soon as I select Asio drivers in CwB the spinning cursor starts. As if it is working hard and busy.

Is it possible the new driver signing change in CwB latest release could affect this?

I am using NVME hard drives, you have to use SSD according to directions and maybe it isn't recognizing that the hardware meets or exceeds the specs?

Is anyone else successfully using an Octa-Capture with a VS-100 or VS-700 and Windows 11? Has anyone had a similar symptom using the two devices linked with CwB?

Appreciate anyone taking a moment to read this and welcome any ideas. Especially like to know if someone else has this working and maybe had a similar issue to resolve.

    Thanks!

Watched your video, the delay is like half a second.

I’m no expert nor as knowledgeable as some, but that doesn’t seem all that excessive to me.  YMMV

I agree. That is milliseconds delay maybe. I don't see a major issue there. If there was an issue recording, any delay can be a concern. Sounds like the recording side has been fine.

For an older OS, PC and sound card, it seems to be responding reasonably.

lots of suggestions here to try though. It's a nice supportive community.

  12. Excellent! Enjoyed all the choices. Reminded me of the Satriani album with Little Green Men, a little Zappa, and some razza dappa. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing.

But would some of the people THERE soon become some of the people HERE (unscrupulous humans being what they are)?

Yup. If you build it they will come. That could change the whole tone, and be a moderating nightmare imho.

  14. Make sure to reference  your motherboard documentation to determine what sacrifices you may have to make to use those M.2 slots. There are only so many lanes on the PCIe bus and they share with graphics, SATA and other hardware resources. So keep that in mind and plan accordingly.

    my 2 cents.
